I put a 1" lowering kit from Strano. The shocks were Bilstein. They are freaking awesome. The only problem is, the upper strut mount has an insert that goes into it. I was rushed to put it in and about 8,000 miles later, my upper mount on the passenger side was shredded. This is a great video, because when I lowered my car, this didn't exist. That top nut being rusted is a pain in the ass.
I used all 4 new bilstein shocks. Summit had a listing for a set of 4 for like $439 I think for all 4. I dont see the same offer on the website now. Hope this helps.
You can order new ones for like 20$ each from summit racing, they’re called coil spring insulators. Cheaper to just repaint and reuse the old ones but mine were rusty looking so I threw the whole strut assembly away.
Thinking of doing this to my 94 F body upgrading to billstein shocks all around. do you think it was worth it? Think the billstein lowering springs with the SLP package would be worth it?
Charles Compton These shocks are outstanding compared to the factory. price was right imo. as far as lowering springs I don't know much so I don't want to give bad advice. from my experience if you lower it you need a. adjustable pan hard bar.
In my opinion these shocks are just all around superior to the factory shocks or any replacement shock from the parts store. There are other brands probably better than these. But for the money...
