Mike Haduck shows some ideas on how he would jack up a small porch or building using regular car jacks, etc. All my videos are my ways and ideas, I always suggest anyone doing any type of work to consult professional help.
Another academy award winning video, mike!!!!!...jacked a big porch up last winter....wound up using my honda jack, worked great!...thanks for the confirmation.!
Love the fiddle and gut bucket at the end. I've been getting into cigar box guitars, fretted, fretless, 3 string, 1 string. Having a lot of fun. Now to go fix my shed...
Great video Mike thanks for sharing! I may Mason living in Pennsylvania as well. Always a little stressful working with fast setting cement. Using Cold water always seems to be the key to not having it set up too fast. It definitely comes in handy though. I had to repair a set of flagstone steps and a flagstone landing on a rental unit and I had to get it done while the tenants were away at work. Fast setting cement was the only way to go. Thanks again and have a great day!
Hi Mike, several years ago my mom ran her car into her house and knocked a large section of stone off from it, (her dog scooted under the break peddle and she couldn’t step on the break, thank God she wasn’t on the road). Mom had a contractor out and he fixed it, however he used the wrong color cement (it’s too gray), he said the cement would fade and end up looking like the rest of the house, it hasn’t. The stone work looks great, but the cement is too dark of a gray and looks terrible. I was thinking I could make a cement paint and cover up the mistake the contractor made, but I don’t know what cement to use. I believe the stone is called Bay Port, it’s a light taupe color ( the cement is the same color) and goes well with the color of limestone. My husband and I are hoping you can tell us what cement to use to fix this and if cement paint is the correct thing to do to fix it. Thanks Mike.
Mike, I recognize the exquisite steps that you made last year, and it looks like you guys added an overhang. __ By the way . . . the guy on the mop was cuttin' a mean groove. I think I saw him on the Lawrence Welk Show one time!! ;o))
Mike Haduck, I'm putting up some 12x12x8" column blocks (ten high) and I want to know if it's o.k. to grout these with regular concrete. It doesn't freeze here and it's warm all the time. Grout mix is expensive and I'd like to avoid using it if possible.
it is impossible to give advice over the internet, I would have to be there to see it. but maybe my video, How I do block work will help. there is a lot of issues with piers and how they are anchored to the ground a building. thanks mike
Hi Marty, It is hard to say unless I seen it, there is a lot to consider when jacking up anything, I would ask some of the local carpenters in your area, thanks mike
The viewer can choose a slower connection. It's on the bottom right of the playback window. If the connection is not working the video can also be downloaded at a site like Dirpy.
