How much does it cost to live in Phuket Thailand!? In this video I break down how you DONT actually need $2000/month.
And how I spend just $1500/month while living like a king in Phuket Thailand.
As the video progresses you'll be able to see the true cost of living here in Thailand if you live a similar lifestyle to my own.
⏳TIME STAMPS ⏳
0:00-0:52- You can live a high quality lifestyle in Phuket Thailand off of just $1500/month
0:53- 1:51- Everybody’s preferred lifestyle is different but even with a set $1500 budget you can still live good although if you love nightlife you may end up getting more modest accommodations
1:52-2:16- Accommodation, food, and transportation are the three main expenses for your budget
2:17-4:02- to get the best accommodation rate possible you’ll need to negotiate, you should arrive during the low season, and you can sign a long-term lease 6-12 months
4:03- 4:14- Facebook marketplace, Fazwaz, and DD property are all good sites to find an accommodation listing
4:15- 4:30- The above strategies are how I got my own apartment
4:31- 5:24- $10/day or $300/month can go very far in Thailand when it comes to food. You could easily spend half this every day as well
5:25-6:04- For $120/month you can rent a scooter which is the most economical way to get around Thailand. But Buying a scooter can save you even more…
6:05- 6:31-Once my mandatory expenses are out of the way I have $430 left over to spend on whatever I want. Which is roughly equivalent to the average Thai salary
6:32-7:07- for me it goes towards the gym, haircuts, jet skis, and massages
7:08- 7:31- Even after all of this I still have about $150 left over
7:32-8:14- even though $1500 sounds like a small amount of money its actually 3X the average Thai Salary
8:15- 8:35-Outro

I spent around $4000 USD at the beginning of this year per month in Thailand - spent 6 months there, I'm only 27 and let me tell you, I think I lived better than some actual kings 🤣

@KarloDenis I lived in Bangkok while I was there - I had a central apartment where I could store my stuff and feel safe Yeah you could find cheaper but I wanted a central location I could use for traveling. I was going to Japan during the months I was there as well. $90 ticket from Bangkok. If you want to save money and don't mind being around partying and more tourist, Phuket or Pattaya would be great for 2 months. I loved all three.

The longest I've ever been in Thailand is 6wks, but still on the ExPat retirement list. Grab is the equivalent Uber for rides and food delivery. Grab will bring you any food you want from McDonalds to a 5 star steak house. I actually prefer to go out to eat rather than eat at home. I can not stress enough how good and inexpensive the food is compared to the USA. It's actually less expensive to eat out then too cook. I'm not sure how the economics work out, but you can order a meal that costs less than the sum of the parts that make it up, and prepared way better than I could make at home. I kept some snacks at the rental but that's it. I also do not smoke, drink, party, or do drugs. I typical day in Phuket for me was waking up, working out, eating, then studying. Would rent a scooter and travel around, or take short flights (which are very inexpensive once you are there). Not mentioned directly in this video, you need a stable source of income. You will NOT find a job local that pays what you make in the USA. So either plan or have passive.

Your reply is "better than the states" which does'nt have anything to do about what i said. When i think of king in thailand, i think of ocean villa and a yacht. What you described to be is backpacker or a guy living off a 3k monthly pension. Which just differ! @@mrtee3477

It's possible no doubt BUT..... RU-vidrs have a JOB to keep them busy during the week so the average person will need to occupy themselves for an extra ~30 hours a week and that costs money. Also, things like computers break and need replacing, and are you really gonna live in a condo with cheap azz furniture and a tiny TV? I figure that after you settle down in a location you'll be buying a new mattress, TV, couch, etc. Good vid.

@troyelam8978
@troyelam8978 6 месяцев назад
You simply cannot live like a king and Thailand for $1500 a month. I’m not sure what kind of king he’s talking about. Not an actual king of any nation on earth. Thailand, the Philippines, etc., they are much cheaper than the United States, even 54% cheaper. However, if you decrease the cost in the United States by 54%, do you think you could get by on $1500 per month? Wait, let me rephrase that, do you think , you could live like a king in the United States for $1500 a month, even if costs decreased by 54%? We all know the answer is no. You need at least $3000 a month in those southeast Asian countries to live anywhere near like a king. And yes, I’ve been there.
@Naijahoy
@Naijahoy 6 месяцев назад
“Living like a king” is a figure of speech which is meant to convey how far the US dollar can stretch in Thailand I’m sure no rational-minded person is actually expecting to live like a modern day king of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sweden etc on such a small budget And even $3000 would be nowhere near enough either- if you’re expecting a Palace, personal attendants, lambos etc. So now that we’re done playing the semantics game. We can get back to the point of the video being that the US dollar stretches very far in Thailand
@troyelam8978
@troyelam8978 6 месяцев назад
@@Naijahoy first of all, I understand that saying you can live like a king is a figure of speech. I also understand you’re the one who chose that dumbass descriptor. So if someone calls you out on words you chose to use, perhaps you can choose your words more wisely in the future. Even if we take “live like a king” in the way you most likely meant it, which is basically “live like a rich person”, $1500 a month is still not anywhere enough! So either way, whether you meant it literally or figuratively, you’re wrong! And yes, I’ve been there! To live like a rich person, and I’m talking bare minimum, starting level rich, you need about $5000 a month in either the Philippines or Thailand. Any Instagram worthy, rich man looking condo is going to cost you about $2000 a month, in either country. That right there destroys your $1500 a month. I don’t think anyone would consider themselves living like a king, even figuratively speaking, without having a nice vehicle. That’s going to be about $500 a month. of course you’re going to have at least a maid, if not a maid and a driver or maid and a cook. You’re looking at another $600 a month. You’re going to join a nice gym with air-conditioning, that’s going to be $50 a month. You’re going to eat out, because what king doesn’t, you’re looking at about $400 a month minimum. Let’s be honest, one steak dinner at Wolfgang, right there in the Philippines, can run you $200. Obviously, you won’t do that every day, but you will do it at least once during that month, if you’re living like a king. Your queen is going to have needs. Presumably, you found someone very attractive, and you’re going to want to keep her looking that way. It will cost you at least $500 a month to maintain her. (nails, hair, make up, gym membership, clothes, tampons, lotion, food, etc.) And can we be really, really honest? You’re probably gonna have another little hidden sugar baby somewhere on the side. She’s going to take $200-$300 a month. I haven’t even gotten into utilities, Internet, travel to other islands or other countries, the necessary trips back to the USA. Once a year, insurances, your own personal grooming items, haircuts, massages, medical check ups, dental, etc. Heaven forbid if your girls family ever needs a little help here and there. And of course you need at least $200 set aside per month for whatever emergencies that might arise, and there will be emergencies. No, sir, no matter how you meant “live like a king”, $1500 a month ain’t going to cut it! Stop telling people this nonsense, because it causes some people, who may not have it all upstairs, to actually believe you, and make life-changing decisions that ultimately wreck them.
