In this video, I hit the Grand Exchange to flip some high margin items! With the economy beginning to downtrend with the post-DT2 hype dying out, I wanted to see if I could make good money just by flipping items that I noticed were on a downward trend.

What do I flip with a 150m cash stack? I've had luck with high volume items but end up having a lot of my cash sitting around after placing my buy offers. I have tried to do low volume items but end up sitting on them for hours before buy and sells fulfill. I place my buys a bit more than the last buy and sells a bit less than the last sell and it has been giving me trouble. I would love to see more of your thought process when reading graphs and making your flips. That sort of technical analysis may be able to help me out a bit.

Always forget to dive into the technicals during videos; will try to do more of this, but a lot of the time it doesn’t apply much in active flipping. 150m stacks should focus on high volume overnight flipping. Check out the channel if you need some guides on this. Good luck with the flips!

Do you have any thoughts on the proposed CoX updates and what it might do to the price of those purple drops? I've seen the dex scroll do some weird things over the last few days. Sometimes I feel like when I try to flip based on news and hype, I just get rinsed by merch clans.

Hey westeric, IMO its too early to tell or speculate. Long-term this will increase the supply of purples in the game as CoX will become faster and more accessible to run, but this doesn’t matter if its offset by demand. Unless specific items get updated, I would waif

I have issues buying and selling the items with correct prices. What advice would you have on how much should I bid higher when buying or sell lower when selling. For example, let's say I secure a Soulreaper axe for 150mil and they are selling for 153, giving a nice 1,5mils profit, when I buy the axe, there's literally next axe selling for 152 mil eating basically 2/3 of my profits and I'm still stuck there with a axe. OR I'm trying to buy the axe for 150mils and the next person buys one for 150.8 mils bumping the price up from the previous sale by a huge margin. Not to say I'm doing too bad, been checking out vids on youtube, and 1st I flipped myself to 60mils on f2p and now I'm up to 1 bil bank in 4 months time. Not too bad, thanks for that :) Sadly flipping is too addictive, I've not progressed my account cus' I gotta secure those margins :')

Haha, totally understand your flipping addiction! I am also addicted and after 7 years i’m still not close to max. This is a good question, and there are a lot of different answers I could give. In situations where you buy an item and your original sell price lowers, I will either: 1. Take the smaller margin (still at a profit) 2. List at the original sell price and wait I find myself just selling for the smaller margin more often. Why? Well, the way I look at it is when you’re active flipping, you should be focusing on number of trades, even if the margin isn’t “optimal”. This is why I settled for 1.3m margins on a tumekens shadow in this video, even though the graphs were showing 3-4m margins. I’d rather secure a 1.3m profit quickly than waiting potentially an hour - an hour and a half on MAYBE getting a 3m profit. You also run the risk of an item crashing on you too, which I was concerned about in the vid. Hope this helps. Typed it on mobile so i’m praying the formatting isn’t too bad. Thank you for this lovely video! I was just thinking how you make economics and math fun because you present it in an easy-to-understand and evidence-based way. I was thinking "I wish schools could make use of videos and tools like this because it packages real-world mathematical concepts in the fun package of Runescape. I really think that for whatever reason, MMOs are actually really good at teaching lessons. Video games in general can do this, but MMOs have a lot of weird features like human-dependent markets (auction house and private trades), scalping, monopolies, and just all the weird stuff humans do in societies, be they virtual or what have you. Anyway, thank you for this awesome video and have some profitable Scapin'!

If you have a bad account then you can buy a magic shortbow and go to revenants. It's a bit rough because of all the pkers but it's better than most other methods.
