Probably 1 of the most peaceful things Ive done in the last month at least. Love learning how to make things. Learning this work in hopes that it may be applied to a boat I plan to build but am bow seeing limitless applications. Always a joy to witness true talent. Notice not a single word need be spoken...

Nicely done. I use hair Fan with heat all the time, when I use that wax you used. Recently made spyderco case and easy to mold with knife, but like this bag need those molding stuffs. Thanks for nice video

It's easier for people to buy from China, rather than order, cheap and pretty much look alike with original and no one gives a care if it real or not, but better to own a good one rather to change it every year.

As a Renaissance Festival attendee (participant, performer, etc.) I have learned to appreciate fine leatherwork. While I seldom can afford it, I do not quibble at the price asked. "I argue not the price of your goods, only the lightness of my purse."
@genisay
@genisay 4 года назад
And that is a fabulous quote too! I feel the same way when I see stuff like this at a Ren-fest and only sigh because my purse isn't heavy enough, but I know for the effort and time put in, not to mention materials, they are asking a fair price.

Greetings to you John. First, I want to say that I watched your video nearly 2 years ago and inspired me to start my own leather crafting. So, thank you. Second, I loved the amount of work you put into finishing your pouch but was extremely frustrated that I didn't know what products you were using. Now, I have more experience and I would like to confirm what you were using. If this is your trade secret, I can edit my comment but for anyone else that's new and would like to take up leather working, I think it's important to know. So after dying your two pieces it looks like you use all Fiebing's products; @10:22 you started with Tan-Kote, @12:54 you apply Gum Tragacanth to burnish, @13:29 you then finish the edge with Edge-Kote, @13:52 you apply Pure Neatsfoot Oil to all outside surfaces, @14:32 you put on Snow-Proof Weatherproofing, dry, buff, @15:38 you finish with using Carnauba Creme to wax and buff it out one last time. Is this correct?
@Brummiejohn200
@Brummiejohn200 3 года назад
Hi thanks for your comment every thing you have listed is correct except I now I use " Effax Leder-Balsam " leather balm instead of Snow-Proof I find it better also I have found the Edge-kote is not waterproof so I give the Edge-Kote a coat of Acrylic Resolene to protect it hope this helps and good luck with all your leatherwork, atb john.
