Interesting to see your setup! I have the camera right in front of my face, peering over the top of it. I use a 24mm lens to get very close focus, and no monitor. I just have to remember to never, ever move my left hand, haha.

Scottastic! Man, I appreciate videos like this. For the past 3 years, I've been wingin' it. Never used a script, and never even used an outline until just recently. The most cumbersome part of this whole RU-vid thing for me was when I was essentially shooting a bunch of b-roll, then piecing it all together in the edit to give it some kind of flow. Bigtime chore.

Videos always have a Professional feel for a 1 man show. Research, plan, script, setup, execute, edit, proof check. Your passion definitely shows and inspires others. Keep up the good work

Love it Scott. Really interesting to see behind the curtain, a lot of good advice. I think youre pretty much the epitome of "great youtuber". You got it all bro, including that drive to keep making your content better. I cant wait to see what the future holds for you, I hope to use your tips to their fullest and they always bring me a little closer to my goals, so thank you! Keep it up, and PAINT MORE MINIS!

Scott, all this is indeed pro level production advice for any kind of vlog or documentary video production. Commentary writing and sequencing is the hardest part of the game and you gave many tips on how to build them. Thanks for being so generous and shining a light on this topic. Rest assured I'm definitely going to PAINT MORE MINIIIES!!!

Love your behind the scenes stuff, so many painters just live stream. I really appreciate the effort it takes to edit and polish a video and I think you and Sorastro have some the best content for painters on RU-vid

Great advice! Been wanting to make a RU-vid Channel centered around crafting Miniatures using 3D sculpting software and talking about the process, but wasn't really sure how to go about it. This definitely cleared a few things up!

Jesus TF Christ! Your videos have everything I could have ever hoped for; Physics, black metal, Star Trek TOS, Photography, and something about miniatures. Thank you for being on point and not shallow like the majority of other RU-vid personalities!

Great video. The amount of work you put into each video and the amount you've invested in equipment is certainly reflected in the quality of your videos. I'm really glad you shared your camera set up. I've been looking for a new mount to get better shots and never even thought about using a mic arm! Very clever
