Watching people riding motorbikes with no helmet and a surgical mask that doesn't filter out the pollution made me laugh when I lived in Chiang Mai. That was before COVID too.
"Yes, we are. I live in Chiang Mai, and I always wear a helmet for safety. We mostly wear masks to protect ourselves from the sun, rather than worrying too much about the smoke. Thai people are more concerned about staying out of the sun." Because we are concerned about getting darker from the sunfunny na but most true
I live in Chiang Mai and see people wearing masks and see lots of people who don't. Really, don't think about. I'm a big fan of minding my own business. If someone wants to wear one, they have their own reasons, and it's of no concern to me.
I enjoy your videos Ryan! Keep up the good work👍 I remember seeing lots of people wearing masks pre-covid in busy places like Bangkok and Chiang Mai and I was told it was because of the poor air quality. At that point I had never seen anyobody wearing masks on the street in the UK .
Hi Ryan, i enjoy your videos, especially the effort and love you have for your family. Looking forward to seeing you back with your family. Regards Baz
Very cool to see our Pure Thai Naturals products shown in your video....!! Thank you!! We'd love to chat more with you about putting a few of our best sellers up in your store too.
G'day Ryan, l was trained to wear masks in fire fighting for years. Only p3/pn95 masks can stop small particles/aerosol but must be sealed completely. And you have to change it every 20 minutes because the moisture/bacteria builds up and becomes detrimental to your health causing lung and respiratory infections.
Informative interesting conversation again today Ryan. Happy to see and hear more about your business journey and your philosophy on wealth and money is noble. Yes, masks...I do not wear them anymore but I always have a handkerchief to cover my nose when I walk by the bus exhaust and especially coal burning barbecues. Many Thais wear masks when on a motorbike and likely it is to reduce breathing pollution or flying insects. Happy travels homeward. Peace and Love Y'all
A few more reasons that perhaps people are forgetting that masks are used is to avoid direct sun exposure as lighter skin is desirable as is un-blemished or unscarred skin that often comes with sun, heat and exposure to wind and material in the air that may hit the face and neck. Wind will also dry out the skin and is harder to recuperate when continuously exposed. This also applies when making efforts to keep even skin color or tone….. anyone who rides often also knows how much the face and neck collect dirt and grit that will also make it harder to maintain healthy, moisturized skin with even tone.
While you're there Ryan. Head to Lemon Tree. Best food I've ever eaten in Thailand. Hope it's still there! It was really popular. Opposite Central Mall. If you get chance, check it out. So delicious
when i went to thailand for a month in may, i didn't really see every 711 employee wearing masks, in udom suk, asok, none of them wore masks. but my gf has been wearing masks for far before covid because the car fumes in Bangkok would irritate her throat if she didn't. also talking about work, noticed more and more foreigners working along the EEC for multinationals, another way in if someone has the experience/education.
I saw people wearing m asks here before covid. My teen stepson did, it was some sort of fashion thing. If you go to any public hospital now most people are wearing m asks and were before covid. I also do to fit in and conform with the norm😂
She is probably right, I lost both my first two business’s Though two things have proven profitable Investing in gold and an online business Pretty low risk high reward
❤👍🏻I think that is good with mask. I used in Sweden during Covid even though we didn’t need to. Many got it, but Im sure wearing & washing hands directly I came home, saved me. 💞💞💞💞
I watched you as you went back to corporate. You looked miserable. I feel you have made the best choices for your family. You seem happier. Your life is enviable. Thank you for sharing
It's the most interesting question for me cause I have lived here for years but wondered how much time you invest in producing, editing, if you use teams etc.. I see you in adds for products, heard you talk about cacao etc. Hope to run into some day. Best of luck.
@@thenakedguru You worked at Minor, Good ol' Bill. I think you made the right choice and we appreciate you. Hey, side question. Are you using a gimble? I saw you shoot on a bike and at the restaurant. Very clean.
I was working in an area with high polution and when wearing a mask during covid I found that my lungs felt better for wearing the mask. The problem was so many people seemed to think it acceptable to tell me that I shouldn't be wearing a mask, at least 100 people. The amount of time I had to tell people that what I do is none of their damn business.
Stumbled upon your video randomly, so I gave you a subscribe for you and your family 😊❤ seems like a chill channel, I love Thailand so much and Im looking to relocate there asap when I have my shit sorted out enough for me to leave the degenerated west. Best wishes!
You mentioned briefly about hiding the smiles behind masks; I’d love to understand Thai’s culture when they laugh or smile when hearing very sad news. It seems their smile is a reaction to everything..
I enquired before to set up a company but seems very expensive, in particular every month to pay thai employee taxes and every month 3-4000 baht for accounting to put on top..do other farang youtube have a company? not sure they do
@@philm7213 that's exactly what i do :) i go drink a coffee where there is nobody doing it , enough places that don't. But I'm not in Pai of course so I don't know about there.
I plan to come to Thailand on a non-o and have an extension based on marriage. I think I know what I want to do for work. Plans change however. 1) Do I need to know what job I need a permit for before I arrive? 2) How difficult is it to get a new work permit in country if I switch jobs? 3) Could you break down the process about how to get one’s work permit? (I am familiar with the “forbidden jobs” reserved for Thais.)
The majority of masks are surgical grade masks which are designed to protect the patient from any bugs the staff may have. But they are not designed to protect the wearer from bugs that the patient may have. E. G. They do NOT protect the workers from getting any bugs if both of us have masks the they are effective but one person wearing mask only protects the non wearer. I hope this explanation makes sense to you
Thanks for sharing Ryan. I have wondered how you can support yourself and the family and i also saw the video of Damo shopping for clothing too sell on line so I guess its enough to survive on. You guys live a fairly frugal life so a little does go a long way. Your desire to spend as much time with the family is what everyone should aim for but unfortunately in this modern world folk have lost track of whats most important, that being the family unit and not just the family but a happy family. Too much emphasis is put on wealth and material things and too much family time is sacrificed in pursuit of those things. I could go on forever but I wont. You know what want and strive for so good onya mate. Mask eh. Bloody masks. Personally I hate them and did my utmost not too wear one through the Covid scam. As a welder by occupation I understand a fair bit more about mask than most. What type does what ect ect. And the masks you see most folk wearing in the street do next too nothing. Anyway I wont harp on about it. Take care on your travels home Ryan you will be missing the family now
In Japan, masks are an everyday part of the culture. I have noticed natural folks like Ryan are against masks, which often could be because natural people often are well-read and more informed. I personally wear a mask to fit into the daily life. I would prefer not to wear a mask like Ryan, but I also don't want to make trouble.
In Singapore, I need money for food, for rent, and to have fun with friends and family. Independence. Money isn't the only reason to work. Working can also give more independence and more control over my own life. And the reason for what causes desire for money is people who have a sense of insecurity do not consider what they have enough. They always compare themselves with other people and end up feeling inadequate. They want to measure up to a certain standard and this drives an excessive desire to make money. Including when covid ends up and still continuing only for some original sickness, I'm still wearing masks by protecting myself including making sense for them to understand that lives are important for us to be living without staying in any hospitals.
To be honest, I never liked Thailand. Too many tourists and too much sex tourism. But your vlog has modified my attitude, and I can see the positives now.
Just need to take a few steps out of the tourist areas. There is a plethora of Thai tourist locations where you would be hard pressed to see a white guy.
Fck me, mte. I'd of thought at your age you'd have learnt not to be so naive & judgemental, not to tar a nation of 60 million, with the same brush. What you're talking about is only 3% of a whole, beautiful, respectful country.
Its the breakeven point on your investment (return on investment) in the hotels and restaurants we used to aim for a 2.5 year ROI which means within 2.5 years any money invested was returned, for online it is easier because there is no long rental contracts, renovations and equipment expenses.
BUT RYAN you should let these PEOPLE KNOW HOW MUCH YOU MAKE ON RU-vid!! BECAUSE RU-vidRS MAKE A LOT OF MONEY 💯 especially when they are as popular as You Are you have TWO RU-vid channels so . Ryan makes plenty of money doing just RU-vid 💯💯💯💯
Why would you post this? Does it upset you to think Ryan makes money from his efforts? I hope he makes does! He supports most of the kids in his village too.. I can never understand why anyone would spend the time to write a comment like yours?
@@stevecarroll8513 I posted that because THAT'S WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT 🤣 He's talking about how he makes money.
