Unlike the theatrical polished content of our main channel, this channel will more livestreams, free talking, diary vlogs, adult themes, discussions on current affairs and topics of interest. It is a place to share, have a dialogue with subscribers and bring others into the mix, which enhances my quality of life as a rural hermit in Thailand!
'The Naked Guru" Is just a fun metaphor for being open and honest.
@thenakedguru Wow, what a wise thought out of the mouth of such a young boy! To hear Otis say life is more important than money, he obviously has two wonderful, balanced, loving and caring parents! ❤
@thenakedguru "you have no boss"? Isn't your wife your boss? 🤣 🤣 🤣 I'll tell you though, I don't know about in England, but it's not uncommon to hear Aussie men refer to their wife as their boss. Whether they're joking or not 🤷
Not been back since 94-5..I hear it has changed a lot..I retire next year and plan to travel but will probably head for Cambodia..My friend lived in Thailand for over 20 years but was killed in an accident that we believe was done on purpose..The Thai family who he had supported wanted all his money..I won’t go into detail but I just want to warn anyone about the dangers of Thailand especially if u have money..
Not everything is a product of the west - The celebration and acknowledgment of kathoeys (ladyboys) in Thailand date back to at least the 14th century during the Ayutthaya Kingdom (1350-1767). They have been integrated into various aspects of Thai culture, including traditional performances and religious ceremonies, for over 600 years.
@@thenakedguru BTW, all SE Asian countries should not become too perfect for you. Otherwise, hundreds of millions of foreigners will come pouring in here and we don't want that to happen. A few thousands foreigners are enough. As much as possible we want tourists only. We don't want remote workers and economic refugees pretending to be tourists and lower-class and middle-class businessmen competing with locals.
@Red-tag77 again the point of the video - my kids are Thai - I want a Thai country for them. I support the idea of Thai land for Thai people only. We don’t want rif raf. I will add I have been here 15 years - I have taught thousands of Thai children English, I have hired over 100 Thai people and paid millions of baht in tax. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W-OAvM56MO8.html
@thenakedguru do hot and I'm wondering if you've considered these couple of things that are commonplace here in Australia where most parts of the country can experience 40C+temperatures occasionally, or even regularly during the summer: Shutters/Blinds/Covers on the windows exposed to the sun, that you have open or close depending on weather. Reducing the light entering through windows, keeps the house cooler and saves on electricity. Setting up a 'dripper' system for the garden. This promotes a stronger plant root systems and in turn stronger plants able to better survive extreme weather conditions. Being from an English background, if it's unfamiliar to you, it's laying a suitable type of hose under the soil surface and having rigid pencil thin pipes rising up to just above the surface as required near the base of plants, that drip-feed the water, which is better for plants and time saving for the home owner once installed. There's even special types of hoses these days that can be laid either just under the soil surface, or in top of the soil but under mulch that slowly released water over a period of maybe hours. I believe they're made of a certain type of rubber with many, many tiny holes.
Because prostitution is not a big thing in the UK like the USA and Thailand - you have to compare like with like - in the US 2 million sex workers 0.6% of the population, in Thailand 300,000 0.5% - in the UK is 100,000 0.2 % 👍
@@thenakedguru Don't believe everything you read! I never had any difficulty in the UK when I wanted some female companionship. It was easily and readily available.
Yes, Thailand is THIRD WORLD or Hundred World whatever. But I spend only 30 Baht(less than 1 US dollars) for visit hospital with any diseases. I want to know how much healthcare fee in FIRST WORLD Country. I want to know seriously.
@thenakedguru Good, balanced vlog Ryan. I'm glad for myself that this vlog attracted so many comments. I responded to one who referred to you as a "Bolton... Wanderer", who's obviously an a**hole, but I probably could have responded to do many other similar comments. Keep up the good work
Your bang on mate England is done , and changed beyond regginition in my life time , traitor polititains sold out the natives I'm a second class citizen in my own homland , but not for much longer making plans too get out
Thanks for this. I am 67 and was born in the US to parents who were "immigrants" and refugees forced out of a Baltic State when Russia ethnically cleansed it in 1945. I grew up here but never felt a part of the "American dream". We have towns like yours the one i live in now is boarded up and decaying. My dad worked like a beast to raise 4 kids and give us a better life. He suffered great abuse and was never happy here. Now that I am retired I am looking for a place where I can live my life contributing to a country where my rent/purchases helps build a world that is better than I find here in the US. I can't work but I can use my pension to support local business and economy. So I watch you and your family to widen my visualizations. My son is 32 and working to build a relocation fund so we can move overseas 5 years from now. Who knows where we will end up, but watching you helps me be thoughtful and realistic about where to invest the time I have left. Forget the haters. You do you. You, your wife and kids are valued & appreciated.
Yes to all. Money is important to help keep your life on an even keel. It helps when times get tough and it helps also when times are good. Having learnt to save for unexpected times in the future is paramount to becoming a happy and balanced adult. It is also a great help for the family to practise to show future generations of family that it is always necessary to be prepared for life.
Another great video. Thanks. Helmets? everyone has their own loves and hates. My cousin is living in Thailand he is about 75 years old, his thing is helping two orphanages in Khon Kaen. Been doing it for 4 years now, I would like to help by spreading the word. Douglas Merritt, douggie merritt Christmas special. He started with his friend and has got better each year, he has picked up some great people in the expat community and like minded people who are helping. You do what you can to help it's all good. 👍😇❤️
Another great video. You are a therapist yourself and I certainly don't mind. Have also been to a therapist here in Australia. Again wishing you all the best. 👍👍😇😇❤️❤️
Hahahaha. Fantastic. I have been to a small village outside of Roi Et where my friends wife is from. They have a yearly festival (rockets) to bring in a good harvest. Loved it every time. Smaller than that village. Yes, everyone has a great time. All locals and visitors, no walking street and just great family fun. 👍😇❤️
Excellent video. Yes I have been an ATM. My own choosing as I have only been a visitor. I'm certainly not sorry for this. Yes I have friends and relatives in Thailand. I'm Aussie, almost 70 years old three sons all grown and gone. So for me no problem. Loving the life and I upset some of the expats with my antics. That's life. Hope you have a happy and prosperous life. 👍👍😇❤️
Another interesting topic and as some people have already said, it's amazing how clueless a lot of people are. I think maybe a test is needed before you are eligible to make a comment. How can helping people be a bad thing.... if the guy wants to buy helmets .... thats great. Sometimes ...actually a lot of the time I lose faith in people. Maybe they just lack simple common sense.
Hey buddy that was one of my most favourite videos I've ever seen. I can't believe what you were talking about outside and then to come inside to watch Otis get ready for school, with him talking about life and money. and On the same wavelength at the same moment whilst talking to Damo. Be a proud Father that you ARE Ryno. Yin and Yang bro
When traveling in Thailand in the early nineties, I found it to be one big scam. From the cops to the people, everything was a scam. As a foreigner, you have zero protection. I was well-traveled and knew what to engage in and what not to; I had a good time, experienced a few minor ripoffs, and had a good time.
Im so glad your channel popped into my feed. I enjoy your musings and i feel transported to a more idyllic world. Of course you have many challenges there too. Two things i wondered about though: 1) How far away are you from good medical facilities should an emergency occur? 2) I'd be curious on your thoughts around security and protecting your homestead. Perhaps I've been watching too many prepper/fall of the world type videos too, but I wonder if it's an area you should look at, even if things are safe and stable just now.
@thenakedguru I've seen coloured chicks before, a long, long time ago, I think in Adelaide, Australia, where I currently live. I don't know about in Thailand, but I remember here that they used food colouring, which would disappear as the chicks grew older, a bit like human hair that's coloured and grows out as the hair grows
@thenakedguru The cheeky, in a fun sense, of Damo has really been showing through in recent vlogs. The shyness has almost gone. That's added another dimension to your vlogs on both channels. Thanks for opening up Damo and thank you Ryan for capturing these beautiful moments of your wife's personality
Their parents don't have a clue? When they are sending home 6k-20k baht a month they know exactly what is happening. Now I am not one sided on this. Sex in Thailand is viewed differently than Westerner's and it's also a chance their girl will inherit a wealthy Farang. I have watched this living in Thailand as well. Listen it's not perfect by our Western Standards but for Thai's there are no hangups. So you save face by not discussing how the money is coming in and it's ok. Thai women often use host clubs to sleep with Thai men. Sex in Thailand as you know has far less of a social band aid on it.
Reminds me of the poem Ithaca. How we set off on our Journey and we should enjoy every experience and should bever hope to reach ithaca as more than likely it will disapoint you. For me these days i try to be in zen as much as possible to free me of the insanity of the mind. Your children seam to be way ahead of me in knowledge of the true universe. Its taken me 50 years to realise life is more than money 😅🤣. You and your wife are doing well . Your children are amazing
I love village life in Thailand. Festivals bring the entire district together with each village/Wat , building their own float for the parade in good natured competition with the neighbouring villages.
I wonder why the UK is so different from eg Norway? I live part-time in Tanzania. Great country, but I still go back and forth. Of cause I have family in tz, so it is quite similar to what you show from Thailand. But it is nice to be with my norwegian kids too. It's not an easy balance.
Ryan, you are quoting Dostoevsky and your son is asking which is more valuable money or life. The depth of your channel is what I love the most. Life is such a paradox. We work and grind away to gain some freedom and then we finally break free from "the system," only to realize that the wiring of the human mind is the problem. How to find the balance of a free and simple life while still being creative and engaged?!
Sorry bro, I can't watch anymore. Allowing the wife to sleep with the kids rather than your bed begins a long spiral with a bad ending. I wish you the best. Thank you for all the videos leading up to this point. Stay sharp.
