Not only are you a talented artist, a great and knowledgable teacher, and someone with a likable personality that makes people want to tune in, but you also clearly work really, really hard. I don't think everyone appreciates how much work goes into keeping up with making music, tutorials, streams, doing video editing, making tutorials for other brands like your MPC One tutorials for instance, getting a merch store created, keeping up with emails and other communications, dealing with financial stuff, marketing, and all the other hidden stuff that people don't see... You deserve to make $$$ and get free gear, and the rest of us benefit because of all the awesome and educational free content you provide. (The paid content is awesome too; I'm eagerly awaiting that workshop on making sample packs!)
I while back I had a half time job, cheap living and a lot of time of being a artist. I definitely didn’t feel like a starving artist and I never felt so free. I’m just saying there is a midway that can be really fulfilling. No pressure to succeed and if you are able to keep doing what you love doors will open.
love your honesty Taetro! just stumbled on your channel through your home studio set up, and i love your content. I am an artist myself trying to tap into the online realm a little more via streaming, youtubing etc and your videos are very inspiring and helpful. thank you!
Thanks for being transparent and sharing! Agree that there are new ways to make a living with music. Starting out and figuring out the process for my channel and this video came at the right time. Thanks!
You're certainly living the life that I would dream of.. Even though I was not into the kinda music that you do, but I found your channel about a year and half ago when I was in the market for a midi controller.. and since then I have enjoyed your videos and hell maybe even starting to like lofi music through you..
I've been subbed for a while but recently I've been going through some of your older videos on music theroy and it has been very helpful. You make very easy to understand. Thanks for the videos!
I think any and all opportunities should be taken in order to make living a dream a reality, anybody who has an issue with that I'd argue has some inherent issues within themselves they need to work on. I mean, maybe I'm biased as I'm getting some home studio gear here soon so obviously I'd like to be successful with it eventually but still 🤣 But things like this are what made your channel stick out to me when I initially found your vids man, not only do you make awesome music but you offer such great inspiration motivation and wisdom behind it as well that really has just done nothing but get me more and more pumped up to jump in the game and see what my brain can create, wishing nothing but much love and future successes coming your way my man 🤙
I agree though, artists definitely shouldn't feel ashamed to take sponsorships, it's a means to keep doing something you love, so long as it aligns with your values and you can remain authentic with yourself. If anyone feels like being such a purist and can afford the time to create freely and as much as they like, then it would be great if they started a starving artist record label and gave all there profits to charity. Feed the hungry! But I feel like more often times than not those with such a zealous opinion rarely have a mind to monetize their art, so it becomes a defensively formed opinion, maybe sub consciously. Just a crazy thought..
Ayyy this video is very motivating and inspiring. Music has always been the backbone in my life, now I’m learning how to build my life functionally around it. More videos of this nature always welcome 🙏🏻
This was so inspiring! Thank you for sharing, it’s hard to see what’s possible when you’re just in the beginning stages, and it helps so much to know there is potential out there with a lot of hard work and faith 😊
I liked everyone’s comments! I appreciate all the comments seeing as I want to become a full time musician. Oh by the way, I’m 13, love seeing the comments!
This video was so awesome. Thank you for sharing and for inspiring me. Definitely trying to find my ways to go full time as a musician. Do you have any tips for people who work a full time job outside of music and then are performing live outside of that but want to add music production/content creation as another income source. How does one get as much done as possible with only a few hours in a day? xD
It’s less about getting as much done as you can in a few hours and more about figuring out what is actually possible for you in those few hours. Start by figuring out how many actual hours there are, 168 (hours in a week) and then subtract literally everything you must do from meals, to commute, to leisure time, to sleep. Understanding the real number matters. Then take that exact amount of time and make the best content you can starting with a single platform. Maybe you have time to make a weekly RU-vid video. Or maybe instead you only have time to make 3 TikToks. Figure out what that is, then figure out what’s successful in that format, then figure out what you actually want to showcase in your content. With the time you have and where all those things intersect is where your energy should go
I like Taetro. I must admit, I wasn’t sure about him at first! But through the years, he’s definitely got more real!…..if that makes sense. Always watch his content. 🤜🏻
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and knowledge. This video definitely came at the right time as this is something I've been thinking about a lot lately.
The transparency with you its always cool, and yeah people need to understand theres thousand ways to earn money apart from the trad music paths. And the trad music paths are saturated already and are more a leap of faith. So congrats and im grateful to found your channel and community a while ago.
Thanks! It’s not all about views, it depends what type of ads they’ll run on a video. So the theory video probably gets more “education” type ads which likely have a higher rate
