Hello Beautiful People! Happy New Year!
Today's video is all about how I personally make my candles. Everyone has different methods and formulas, but this is what works for me. Hopefully there are some tips within this video that may help you on your candle making journey!
Quick Tip: Please keep an open mind when choosing suppliers. I have to switch things up because one supplier may be sold out of the ingredient or supply that I need. So, do your research. I have done my research and chosen the suppliers that work best for my brand and business needs. I check for quality and efficacy to ensure I am using the BEST ingredients and materials to create my candles.

Great video. Getting better about being on camera. I use the same wax our process is a bit different, that's normal. I use between 10-12% fragrance load. Thanks to a wonderful wax we get awesome scent throw. I admire you for choosing to go luxury out the gate. I have a standard line and a luxury line as well as a beeswax line. Yeah, never pour fragrance into anything but glass. You don't want chemicals eating off the cup into your candle and you don't need to lose your expensive fragrance oil going to the garbage because the cup failed. If your pouring your fragrance into the cup and straight to the bottom pitcher you'd be ok. I just personally don't like the idea of chemicals from the plastic going in my candle! Call me paranoid! Love your shirt by the way!

First off let me say you go girl!! I love to see a successful black woman! I have one question at what temperature do you pour the wax in your vessel? In the video it looked like the wax started to solidify soon after you poured the wax.
@ParisNikkole
@ParisNikkole 3 года назад
Black Girl Magic! 🙂 Thanks so much! I actually pour at about 145-150 degrees. I tried that Alex method in the beginning and that did not work for me! The process goes as follows: 1) Melt wax to no higher than 150 degrees F. 2) Once melted, add FO & Dye if you are using it. 3) Let cool to 100 degrees F and pour into room temp containers. I heard this method was tried and true but pouring at 145 has worked for me. It really takes testing and practice because some fragrance oils mix best at lower temps which then means you will then pour at a lower temp. It helps me to keep my pouring pitchers warm, to ensure it doesn't cool the wax too quickly.

Yes I would like a video on that as well. I feel like it’s like the way you would make a pillar candle? Oh shoot now that I think about it. You just pour the wax in the appropriate size candle mold 🙂

You’re amazing 😫❤️. I got supplies last year and more this year bc I have a vision for it before I launch (it’s the Virgo in me) lol. I was looking for a different wax and jar company. I use dream vessels but they sell out so quick. New subbie ✨💞 blessings and love

Tip, you can put your alcohol in a spray bottle and spritz your containers then wipe with a lint free cloth to avoid little particles

I’m super excited about it, I love that you provide thorough info to your supply list, it a gold mine of info. I’m so glad to have come across your tutorials, would you saw that your blended wax produces a better quality wax then say soy wax? Thank you!

You are so welcome! 😍 So excited for you to get started! 🎉 From my own personal experience I would say that the blended waxes have worked best for me. So, definitely try a few and see what you feel is working and what is not working. Keep in touch! I want to know how you are progressing and always feel free to reach out with questions! Good Luck!

@@ParisNikkole I most definitely will, I love the clean look of your candles which is what I’m looking to achieve as well. It seems as though all of the suppliers are out of the coco apricot creme right now. I’m going to keep an eye out and hopefully I can preorder some. Thank you again!

I love how you fill your vessels up. I've seen some candle makers only fill to 12 oz. in the Aura jars and when the candle has solidified, the vessel looks empty. Personally, I would not buy a candle that looked half-filled. Do you get an AWESOME HT with the wood wicks? I'm kinda on the fence with the wood wicks because they are so sensitive.
@ParisNikkole
@ParisNikkole 2 года назад
Thanks so much! ❤️ Yes, I get a great HT with the wooden wicks. They are very sensitive but once you get your formula down and decide which wick works best with that formula and wax, you will be golden!

Great tip.I just did this with the plastic cup this week. I was making soap and had my essential oils measured and waiting. The plastic melted and I lost my essential oil to the floor. "Crying" . Question..what wooden wick do you like the best.?

Hi! Great video! What is your melting point? What is your mixing point? What is your pouring point?
@ParisNikkole
@ParisNikkole 3 года назад
200 degrees to melt my wax, sometimes my melting pot goes higher but it doesn't affect my candles in a negative way. I mix my fragrance oils in at around 160 degrees and I pour around 145 degrees. Since i have been making candles for so long it varies but my results are consistent. Meaning my hot and cold throw is amazing! Hope this helps!
