So glad you made this video. I am a pescatarian and used tofu crumbles a lot. Can no longer find it in the grocery stores so now I will make my own! Thank you!!
Chef-I came across this site by chance. Love your teaching style and appreciate the care you take at preparing the food with clean manicured hands! Thank you!!
Sorry to hear that. I'm dealing with both of those myself. Remember, vegan does not automatically mean healthy. To get the best benefit, he needs to eat whole food plant based. Lots of greens, lots of vegetables, lots of beans, and some whole grains and fruits.
Tofu is such a cheap and efficient food protein. Any recipe variations that allow it to be used in a higher percentage of my weekly meals is a win. Plain unprocessed beans are always great as well of course. Thanks for the recipe. I don't have all the spices on hand but I'll give it a whir!
I really enjoyed your video and I subbed. I saw different recipes that added a little bit of liquid smoke, A-1 and/or Worcestershire.... 🤷♀️ Thanks for this, i'm going to make it today !
@@PlantBasedBistro Thus far I'd say that taking the crumbles to dryness increases their capability for subsequent absorption, but this also means a significantly longer process using them in something like sloppy joes. if I were to use crumbles still a bit moist, I could make the end product relatively quickly; similar to using ground beef, but they don't absorb as much flavor. Drying them more thoroughly, it takes much longer for them to rehydrate in the sauce, but the wait is worth it in the final result.
I don't like tofu, tried this method using a different recipe, and you are correct, it no longer taste like Tofu. Made tacos with it, and heard no complaints from the carnivores even though they knew what it was.
so Im not vegan, Im just wondering why add the nutrienal yeast? is it really needed to make it taste like beef since im not vegan would I just be able to use like beef boullion powder or something? Nutrienal yeast is super expensive here so if I dont need to add it id like not to, every reciepe i find adds it.
Nutritional yeast is a fantastic way to get b12, protein, antioxidants, and a plethera of other vitamins. It also has a great cheesy flavor. It's great on popcorn. Everyone should use "nooch"
