Helen, thank you for sharing this with us. I had crippling anxiety 3 years ago when I experienced a manic episode after taking an anti-depressant. This is not a normal thing, but my brain basically experienced panic attack after panic attack for months because I did not know how to cope or know what was happening. I was already small and ended up losing an insane amount of weight. Insomnia set in and I was unable to sleep for months. It was horrifying. I had to become my own advocate or I was going to literally die. Took years to figure it all out. Today, I am healthier, happier and proud of myself for how strong I had become. No one knew what I was going through besides me. I felt very alone. I am so happy you are better and doing well. I just ordered several things from moon juice as I am always willing to try new things :)

Thank you Helen, I’m glad you shared your experience! Your message is very important: there is absolutely no reason to be afraid of panic attacks. I also suffer from panic attacks but much less today because I learned to be less afraid of them and to listen to my body more. I’m talking as a woman with hypothyroidism for which I have medication. Anxiety and hypothyroidism are linked. I encourage people to check their thyroid hormones. Also lack of iron can cause anxiety, so get your iron levels checked too. In my case I tend to feel anxiety a couple of days before periods, therefore I take more iron supplements in advance. I also like to take magnesium in liquid ampoule (more effective than tablets) before going to sleep. I’m against panic attack medication, but if it helps someone I would recommend to carry one pill in your handbag for ”the worst attack”, it’s just a trick to calm you down but hopefully you never actually have to take that pill. Please don’t forget to take care of yourself (enough sleep, sports, healthy food, mindfulness, massage etc.) and lastly, cutting off cafeine and heavy use of alcohol are important. Those are my tips to share :)

Its so refreshing to hear someone talk about coping with anxiety using the power of the mind. As someone who used to be on medications, and quit, I still feel pressure from family and friends to Medicate. But The mind is so powerful! And like you said, some people might need to go down that route. This is your story, and your story can’t be wrong. Thanks for sharing this Helen.

I totally understand what you mean about feeling like a speck in the universe. The first time I had a panic attack, about 20 mins prior, I was just standing in front a mirror staring at myself, touching my face and looking so deeply into my eyes, not comprehending who I was or why humans were created (sounds weird but I just couldn't grasp this feeling). It felt like an existential crisis where I didn't understand how and why we were put on this earth, how we're literally made of stardust and how everything basically meant nothing because we live on a floating ball in the universe. Little did I know I was beginning to have my first panic attack and the ambulance was there 45 mins later haha. This just goes to show everyone's experience is different with anxiety, but the more we talk about it, the more we can help people see that it will get better, it will pass and you're going to be ok

Thank you for sharing your story Helen 💓 you are a huge role model for me and I look up to you a lot. I suffer from crippling anxiety and panic attacks. I’ve started getting paid collabs to work with brands as a content creator, but I’ve been so afraid that it’ll be impossible to travel and work with my constant anxiety 😮‍💨 after watching your video, I feel so much relief and comfort. Your anxiety is not embarrassing! I can relate to feeling anxiety in places where I can’t escape. I recently quit caffeine and can already feel a decrease in anxiety. Im happy to hear you’ve learned how to manage your anxiety. It makes me feel hopeful 🤍

Awwww Helen thank you for the virtual peppermint hug. This was a great video and you navigated it with such tenderness and care (for such a hot topic). Thank you for sharing your experience - I'm going through a breakup right now and pulled out my journal, which is a huge help to me with anxiety or grief. Helen, you have described this so well and so brave to do it. I suffer with anxiety and have managed to find ways to manage it and randomly chewing gum is one of them. The part that resonated was when you said it was an inner battle every time you go and do something. Thank you for posting and thank you for the links on the supplements. I’m only half way through this video and already feeling so grateful you’re talking about your experience. I’ve felt the same where you’re in a seemingly normal environment doing something that is a normal activity yet inside you’re dying inside with anxiety and you don’t know why you’re having a panic attack and sitting there thinking, I look completely normal, I wonder who else is going through exact same thing at this moment. I teaches us to be more patience and compassionate with others. It’s scary and scary to think the PA’s can come at any time.

Thanks soooo much!!! I recently started to experience traveling anxiety after a bad turbulence. So I just try to get my mind out of the negative thoughts and picture my self at my destination having fun or just a calm spa or something. I also try to watch friends to get distracted. The window also helps but once I feel the smallest moment in the plain I stressed and battle all my thought while I am praying and trying to hold my breath. So thanks for those tips cause I do love traveling and I was so used to been on planes útil this happened and almost every single trip after that have some sort of problem or turbulence. I want to keep traveling and this had made me think to stop doing it. So I will really try what you have said! Thanks and will tell you after! 🙏🏻🤞🏻✈️

Thank you for sharing your story. I am 24 and I live in Vancouver BC, I just recently started getting really bad panic attacks, and they mostly happen after a heavy night of partying or binge drinking. Usually I would go on trips with friends and I would feel so embarrassed for having to leave the bar early because of a panic attack. The key I learnt was to stay away from alcohol and just drink in moderation and definitely avoiding coffee when thinking I will go through an episode. This video I could to reallyyyyy relate to. Thank you 💕☺️

Found you through Mike Glover. I know the feeling. Mine is a bit different. A feeling of "electrical pulses", like a million tiny needles in my brain. I suffer from PTSD and have a distinct fear of dying, somewhere where nobody will know. I fear that only for my wife and kids. I have never feared death and for the most part still don't....but the sense of nobody knowing I am dead and where I am terrifies me because of what it would do to my family. Bless you young lady for this post and I know it will help many many people. I wish you much love, only the best in your journey and a a lifetime of happiness and health. -The Phantom

Thanks so much for sharing your story! You are such an amazing person. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks as well. It's definitely terrifying, especially the first time it happened, just as you and Zack experienced. I was hungover and taking a long road trip from Florida to Kentucky. Thought I was having a heart attack and pulled over on the side of the interstate and called 911. Ended up going to the hospital in an ambulance and they didn't mention anything about anxiety to me, just said I had low potassium. Happened again the very next day as I got on the road again. Being in vehicles, especially stuck in traffic or at a stop light, has been a trigger for me too and I think it has a lot to do with that first experience being so traumatic. In my experience, the attacks are almost always after a night of drinking as well. I appreciate hearing what has helped you cope with it. Breathing helps me overcome the attacks when I feel them coming on. Long, deep breaths - in through the nose and out through the mouth. It helps to decrease blood pressure and heart rate. It doesn't always work but it usually helps to at least shorten the duration of the attack and reduce the physical symptoms. I also stopped drinking coffee for that very reason. If I do drink it anymore it's always decaf. As you said, CBD seems to be helpful for me also. I will give the Moon Juice supplements a try. Thanks for the recommendation.

I can 100% relate. The feeling I would get was like a rush of bad adrenaline like the feeling you would get in your body right before you get in a car accident or like that feeling like it was about to happen. I remember my first panic attack I felt like I was dying my heart was racing, my arm went numb, I even got really hot then was shivering. It was awful 😭 Thankfully I don’t experience that much anymore however I have noticed if I drink I can get “hangxiety” lol I guess that’s actually a thing because of the imbalance in your body that alcohol can create. Thank you so for sharing your story! Also side note I love your rings where did you get them?😍

Not just coffee, its all caffeine. There were pre-workouts I had to stop taking because while it had a good effect in the gym, if something happened later that day to give me anxiety, it would turn a 3/10 issue into 9/10 DEFCON 5 anxiety.

A panic attack is like the worst case of hiccups imaginable; you try to breathe but can't and feel like you're going to die. Worth asking a doctor to prescribe you Propranolol or something similar; calms you right down in a few minutes.
