Thank you SO MUCH. This is EXACTLY what I was searching for and everyone else I found was only teaching how to create the linked databases whereas I already had my individual databases & wanted to create a master database from my existing ones. Your video was so specific and easy to understand. Thank you sooo very much!!
this was very helpful, this "merged calendar" was bugging my head lately because I couldn't do it by myself so i would still need google calendar and notion, but now I can do it only with notion thanks for the video ;)
Thank you for the great inspiration. Instead of many relations and rollups, everything is now in one calendar. I used the Christmas holidays for the renovation and thanks to the great tips I'm starting the new year very clearly. All the best for 2021.
Red, you’re a gem! I’ve actually been really struggling with managing my time, as I’ve got so many activities that I’m venturing into, and have been looking for ways to merge all of my notion to do lists as they’ve been getting out of hand. So this is an absolute lifesaver. I can’t thank you enough honestly!
I just want to say as a Notion newbie, but one who has watched at least 30 videos, yours are the absolute best. You present meaningful topics in a clear way, but even more than that, you bring it all together. I got more from watching this one video than I got spending 2 hours scouring Reddit r/notion posts, doing Google searches, and the Notion documentation. Thank you for your contributions to the Notion community.
You don't know how much your videos are helping me. I've been struggling to build a satisfactory and practical Notion system of my own. Before, I was like having dozens of disorganized databases all around my Notion. I didn't know what I was doing. All seemed too complicated and I thought I was too old for this. But I've been learning with your videos and it all started to make so much sense. It was mindblowing and eye-opening to actually be able to see all the potential Notion has. What you do is magnificent! You have inspired me a lot. Thank you so much.
Hi, I'm a newbie at Notion and I had some anxiety starting up databases because I first thought of "but how do I combine everything?" and really needed a Master calendar before anything... So Thank you for a great video! It gave me tons of great advice of how to move forward and organize myself. I also appreciate that it took you less than 15 minutes to teach me this!!
This was a great video. It solved my exact issue of difficulty in managing multiple Notion Databases. Thanks for showing merges with different types of Notion databases!
You're a genius and I cannot thank you enough for creating this video. This is exactly what I was looking for and it saved me from so much work and confusion trying to figure out what I was going to do.
Reason for changing Select -> Text: Otherwise the destination property is empty (found out by experimenting). Also, it doesn't matter if a tag (value) has spaces in it - when you "turn into text", tag/select values get separated by commas
THANK YOU. your channel its the best for notion for sure! ive watched almost 10 videos already and you helped in every one of them. My notion is functional for my company in a way a never imagined. Thank youuuu
Literally have asked on so many forums about how to do this. You just blew my mind. I wish I had known this MONTHS ago! Makes complete sense! You are a genius!
You have no idea how valuable this was for me. Thank you. I wish Notion had a way to create a "page view" that allowed me to hide and expose certain properties from something like this on a page level, but alas, that doesn't exist yet. Either way, this was super helpful.
I just discovered your channel while making a notion for my first year in grad school - super helpful and easy to follow along!! Thank you for these videos!!!
So many people have been saying about , but they show how they are doing it! I couldn’t find anyone yet who told about /linked-database , Thank you! This was the biggest problem I was having!
This is a game changer! I've seen master calendars on Notion but didn't know how to make one, and this video cleared it up fast and how. Thank you so much :)
Is there a way to do this but to still keep the contents in the other database as well? I want the information to be consolidated into a big database, but to also stay in the one that they were originally in as well
@@josh.nuttall yes, i understand on the database on the original page can simply linked to the master database, but I believed you will end up having like mixed status and select option with other original database, i.e. both Books and Projects can have "Status", but they both have different options under them, but because you append them into the master database, now you have all the status mixed up and once you create a linked database from Books to Masterbase, you will see Projects's Status as well... I believe @me here is trying to ask if you can resolve thhe problem which many people are facing

A master database to rule them all ! Thank you for this video, that's what I was looking for as I manage multiple different projects at the same time so I needed a unique database view and calendar but also wanted to keep each project isolated.
This is exactly what I was looking for and on my first search. You are the "🐐" of Notion my dear. I have about 15 different databases that I totally need to consolidate and this was the 🔑! Thank you so much!!!
thank you! I've been searching for how to connect all my to-do lists from different databases and I think this might just be the best way to run my Notion account...simplify is my moto this year! Beautiful!
Super helpful. The way you broke things down was very clear and thoughtful. This is the first time I've seen any of your videos. You're doing a great job of walking people through. Thanks so much for your help. I feel pretty confident that you gave me the tools to clear my headspace! :)
I've watched this video multiple times - I set up my work and personal workspaces using this technique (although it's not necessary for everything to be combined into one DB). Thanks! 🙏
2023 and this video helped me a lot! I was looking for a way to get together my calendars from different activities to be more productive. So, THANK U!
Thank you so much for you spending your time an energy in all your videos. This one was very useful and very much what I was looking for. Lots of love from Bengaluru, India
Thank you so much for the video! It was an eye opener. ⭐ In fact, as a side note, your videos are informative and easy to understand! 👍🏻 Perhaps, instead of saying "hope this makes sense", say "if anything is unclear, please leave a note in the comments". 😉
Awesome, thanks. So smart turning the logic around and not creating several databases and trying to link them in one (What is nevertheless not possible) you create one master and use this as a reference 🤯 Love it! It helped me a lot!
Thank you for saying about "i hope it helps" in the end of the video! This inspired me to share: yes, it helps, it helps tremendously! I'm 27y.o. from Crimea, Russia. I'm trying to make a database for tracking books, trainings, sleep log, food log etc. I feel like this makes my life so much better, more calm and more proud of accomplishment since they noted. So I'm trying to learn how to use notion, and actually your channel is the best I found for this purpose. Your skill and point of view, your ideas and your calming voice - everything is so helpful. I watch your videos for a month already, they have been a great help. Also English is my third language, so your articulation is really clean, it is easy to understand what you are saying. Nd video editing skills - like, I'm seeing this formulas for the first time - and I can understand it. Because of you 🍀 So yes, your videos are very helpful, they give me knowledge of hot to make my life better. Thank you so much 💖✌️
Notion has improved this since 2020 - you no longer have to change the select to text but you need to make sure that the destination database has ALL the options that the origin database has, or the property will be blank when you move it. Selects take on the colour of the destination database too.
I‘m from Germany and new to Notion. But I love to explore new functions. Also love the way you explain, its always easy to understand. Just love your videos!❤️Keep up your good work! Hope to get to know more about relations und formulas soon as well
I don't want to flatter you, but you are one of the best Notion teachers, explaining Notion here on RU-vid! I am looking for a solution to the following problem, and I think you gave me the inspiration for a solution in this video. I use Bardeen to scrape LinkedIn Profile Data to a Notion Database. I have another database for LinkedIn Profiles too. The two databases have some fields that are the same and other fields that are specific to the respective database. When I run the Bardeen Playbook to scrape LinkedIn Profiles, I want to add the new scraping results to my other database too.
Thank you so much! I just started using Notion and want to create a futureproof all-in-one system with multiple workspaces. And for that I need a single master calendar for all the various tasks, and I couldn't quite figure out how.
Thank you for the video, it helped me understand a lot more about how database linking works. I tried linking multiple databases into a master database.. but this is so much easier to link independent databases from one master database using filters.
Is that possible to "Link" instead of "Merge" my databases? Let's say I have multiple databases called: Study, Work, Personal These three databases include different articles for different purposes. I don't want to merge them all into one single Master database. Is that possible to link these three databases and filter out the "Featured" tag from my tag property so I can show specific articles that I want to show in my Dashboard?
Thank you so very much for this, Red! It answered all the gaps and voids of information in my head about trying to consolidate and harmonize my Notion system. Liked & Subscribed!
Hi! I explain my problem: I need 4 databases: - clients - contacts - tickets - final costumers The last 3 databases belongs to clients (so in each client I can see only his tickets, his contacts and his final costumers) i know how to do all of that. Now, when I create a ticket, I need that notion picks the information of the final costumer that I want, for example, I have the costumer phone number, and I want to select that costumer by his phone number, so now it appears in my ticket, but I also that another properties can be autofilled, for example the costumer’s name or som notes I have written about him before. I would also want to send a notificarion with the information I want to show to the client. Is it that possible?
Thanks for the tut Red. This was cool. It's too bad that this is such a manual task. Simple enough with small databases with only a handful of properties... but when I've got databases with a hundred or so properties, and others with only
Thank you so much for creating this video! I was getting so frustrated with relations and rollups. This is so much simpler and easier to use. I cannot express just how helpful this was! Thank you. :)
Genius. You are so underrated. And I understand this channel is growing. I can see you getting a lot of subscribers soon! I believe in Notion Supremacy!
Hi, Red! I can't get the several assignment schedules I have made for each class to merge into one master assignment schedule. I tried the paste method but it didn't transfer any of the categories info. I tried the move to method, but the other master table I made doesn't show up when I search the list that comes up. :\
Waouh! Great video! Thanks! It's just what I needed! I wanted to create a big database as you shown, but I was thinking I should write again every line! your video is a huge help!!!
Thank you! Such a great video! I'm just wondering whether it's possible to access everything from Master data base not in calendar view, but also in the table view?
Hi Red, Just want to confirm that the dropdown view is no longer available in Notion right? Because I tried to add a view, but it is not showing as dropdown, it looks more like added tab like in excel. Can you please confirm? or is there a way to make it a dropdown view list like the one in your video? Thanks a lot in advance. you are so helpful your videos help me a lot at my work.
Great ! Thank you , makes totally sense ! Tried to do it last week and messed up totally 😂😂😂😂 - now I know how to do it better ! Thanks ! Stay confident !
Yessssssss Gurl !!! Thanks so much 🙏 My question is: Is it possible to use Notion as a website, where people can book appointments & book themselves into online events INTO a calendar like this, which I publish as I go along ? How would this work and is it possible for this set-up to be free in the beginning, as I am building a clientele ? I’ve figured lately that I spend so much time in Notion for so much private life & biz management anyway, that it could be quicker and easier, if I could integrate the 2 and just make certain pages public for customers and voila ! Note: I am not a developer and might need help with this. I just wonder if this is more time efficient as opposed to planning a project in Notion and then publishing the same end result in Wix (or else) again ?
Hi Red, thanks for the video! I've got a question which seems too hard for me to figure out. I have a brand design studio and each time a client signs they get their own Notion dashboard (based of a template, which I fill out for each client). This includes a Project Overview table with dates for each milestone within our project. I am now looking to automatically have these milestone dates transferred to my master calendar - how would you approach this?
