Well, yeah, I know what you mean. I do have Christian friends in/from Latvia, but not so many young people... I was raised Catholic, but at some point I could also visit other (mostly evangelic) churches and they felt more real, less ritualistic. I don't think I would have stayed Christian, if I hadn't visited the Christian MEHR conference in Germany, where I think I finally formed a real relationship with God. I think not so many young people in Latvia are joining a church because we have a few "cool and free" churches that could be good for the young ones, but they have messed up the structure, and thus have created a feeling that of a sect. I personally couldn't find a church in Latvia I had a good feeling about. But in Germany and Austria there is an ICF church, which blew my mind.
I assume your husband had to make the first move or talk to you first, just expressing that because I've always hated that tradition with a huge passion, that men have to court women or initiate the relationship

I'm not sure anymore if these details were mentioned in the video, but I was the first one mentioning I want to talk in private (later he texted me back if I'm still interested), then in the meeting opening up about my feelings and after he left Riga, I texted him first if I can visit him in Stockholm 'cause I was booking flight tickets. Next day he texted me if he can also visit me earlier (than my trip to Stockholm) in Riga, and I was positively surprised! I'd say I pushed him into this relationship (but he wasn't complaining) 🙈 But I know what you mean! In fact, in almost all of my previous relationships I made the first move and I have encouraged my female friends to do the same if they really want to be with someone (not that they usually listened). 😅 I think it's time for this "tradition" to change, but it will take some time. Maybe I should even make a video about it 😁 Thanks for the idea! 🙏
