I lift 110kg for 5 reps with 5 sets every other day, and I squat 150kg for 3-5 reps with 5 sets 3 times a week, and I ran 240 km in the last two weeks (120km per week).
Or run less if goal is to gain strength . But max gains in either do come at expense of the other if you are already maxing one of the modalities before.
Brother how you doing 50-60 miles a week. Like dawg I’m a hybrid running 15 miles a week. 5 miles are slow tempo recovery while the other 10 are fast tempo 7:30-6:50. Then sneak in 3 miles for track workout. Then workout with compound lifts 4-5 times a week.
“Slow tempo recovery” is a paradox. Tempo pace is very close to your threshold. There is no such thing as a slow tempo vs. fast tempo…just tempo. Anyway, if you’re looking to build mileage past 15mpw you should slow down. You’re not running even close to enough easy miles.
is it unhealthy to be running every day i have a running streak that i wouldn’t want to stop and sometimes i’ll take a “rest week” where i only run a mile a day at around 10-11 min pace so i can rest a bit just concerned that this might not be healthy
