Hi Rachel, I am also Sabbath keeper, I recently received the Friday night and Saturday off from my job, for that reason I used to only kept the sabbath every other week in the beginning, now I observe it every week . When my husband and I got married we had all intentions of keeping the Sabbath but didn't fully understand what that meant. Growing and learning more and more each week, My husband and I saw the areas of improvement and found ways to stick to the restrictions... such as making it the day of our social media fast. I still don't think we follow it perfectly. On Saturday we eat lightly all day and when the sabbath is over we order something to eat. I want to get my sabbath prep at a place where we can cook throughout the week and possibly have date night after Sabbath is over or just on Sunday. I currently work part time so I have enough time during the week to get the cleaning part done in time. I also dedicate Sunday as the laundry day and planning day so I can get things in order mentally for the rest of the week. I truly think the Lord sees the heart of His children and gives us grace to accomplish our hearts desires, esp. if what we want to do is keep His statues and commandments.Yahweh bless You and content creators like Graced filled, Bindi Marc, and Habits of a Homemaker that help and encourage me in this Journey.
Praise God for that- that's amazing!!!! The Father truly answers prayers! Yes, I'm still learning- I have so much to still learn about it. Yes, I love the idea of eating lightly and then treating yourself in the evening once it's over- I know some people don't 'kindle a fire' on the sabbath and so they eat lightly by default (salads, etc.). He definitely sees our hearts- I agree- and you've reminded me that He will make a way since He sees my heart, also. Amen- thank you so much, sis. I appreciate your comment and wisdom in your words. Peace and blessings to you xxx
I love that our Heavenly Father has revealed to you his Set Apart day for us to rest with Him and His angels 🤍 I have kept the Sabbath since becoming born again 2 years ago, I read Jesus’ words about keeping the commandments and have always stuck to Sabbath keeping no matter who tells me it was ‘done away with’. It takes a bit of getting used to at first, but it will most likely soon become your favourite day of the week to rest in Yah and His word 🙏🏽 You could spend the day watching Sabbath keeping videos and learning how to prepare 🤗 You will be blessed for your obedience sister! Thank you for your videos, I enjoy them and I’m happy to see Yah working within you to becoming a biblical wife and homemaker ❤️ HalleluYAH 🕊 xx
Praise the Lord!!! Aw, amazing! It definitely wasn't done away with- I've come to that realisation!!!! So many of biblical prophecies are heavily dependent on the sabbath as well- so much biblical proof, but I get it's so easy to believe that it was done away with. Yes, I pray it will become my favourite! I still have a long way to go with resting 100% but I'm loving what I'm doing so far- those are great ideas- thanks for sharing that. HalleluYah indeed!!! xxxx
Starting may be a challenge but The Heavenly Father see’s and appreciate’s our efforts! The important thing is to not remain stagnant, continue to make progress and with the right intentions. Pray for The Most High’s strength, truth, help and guidance to honor and glorify Him! The Shabbat is a delight (Isaiah 56:2-7, 58:13-14). A tip for preparing for Shabbat would be prep throughout the week. Do major projects, work and cleaning throughout the week and by Wednesday/Thursday that way you can just tidy up or do light cleaning on Friday. Season or marinate your meats or cut up all your veggies on Wednesday/Thursday that will be used and cooked on Friday for The Shabbat so you’re not doing so much or rushing before Shabbat. Sometimes doing so much on Friday causes us to rush, be frustrated and exhausted when we have to remember that preparing mentally and going into the Shabbat peacefully is just as important as the physical preparations we make. The Shabbat is rest to from our weekly everyday work, not to tire ourselves out then rest from the work we do to prepare for Shabbat. With meals for Shabbat start with simple, quick and easy meals. The oven is your friend lol. All the meat you seasoned/marinated on Thursday can be baked Friday. While the meat is baking in a separate container also bake some potatoes, sweet potatoes, bread etc. while that’s baking make some salad, veggies, sandwiches and breakfast for The Shabbat. On Shabbat eat healthy snacks like yogurt and fruits so you’re not eating all your prepared meals at once. Many blessings and peace to those who are learning and being obedient to The Word of our Elohim! And may those who have not yet come to the knowledge or accept the truth, may The Heavenly Father grant you eyes to see and ears to hear His Wonderful Way! ❤
Hi Rachel. I'm a full-time homemaker with 2 kids under the age of six and I've been sabbath observant for almost 25 years and I'm far from being a perfect sabbath keeper, so keep at it as best as you're able to and be consistent. Fridays are easily my most hectic day of the week since I prepare all of the meals to be eaten on Saturday since I don't cook on that day. In spite of the busyness of the preparation, I get to relax and enjoy time with my family, as well as spend time with myself and Yah. It's a much needed and necessary day, especially for us homemakers!
Oh wow- thank you for sharing that- it shows me that Jones of us are perfect or even near perfect ❤️ yes!!! I'm still cooking most friday evenings and some Saturdays because I haven't yet organised myself enough to have food pre-cooked and I do still do cleaning if I genuinely want to, but I'm resting way more than before and also spending time with The Most High like never before, so I'm happy with my slow progress! I totally agree, sis!!! Thank you for sharing. Mwah xxxx
Thank you so much for sharing how the Sabbath is blessing you. My family observe the Lunar Sabbath. It is for my family our most important day of the week. The day that the inner court is open. One of the things we do is take walks, read, study, board games, self care and rest. Bless you and your household. Shalom
That sounds so lovely. Very interesting- this is the first time I'm hearing about using the moon to determine the sabbath, so I'll be reading up on this! I'll also read up on the meaning of the inner court gate being opened on the Sabbath day as I'm not familiar with this at all but can see it in Ezekiel! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom!!! Shalom! Xoxo
Do you observe the Sabbath in any way and/or is it important to you? Feel free to share in the comments! (BTW- me cleaning all these toilets was NOT filmed on a Sabbath, lol) The instagram post: instagram.com/p/CnNNeBIL9fx/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
I agree- the world and life in general can be so demanding it's important to give ourselves rest. It helps with mental health struggles, physical health e.g. eating raw potentially or juicing, helps build familial relationship etc. There are a lot of benefits to it it seems!
I observe the Sabbath too. I'm a Seventh Day Adventist so I was raised keeping the Sabbath. We kept it much more strictly when I was younger and I want to go back to that.
Amazing! Oh yes- I forgot SDAs do it as a given- other Christian denominations need to bring the Sabbath back for real. Oh wow- I'll probably research on SDA sabbath keeping to get more inspiration for what it can look like practically (as well as reading more scriptures about it of course 😊).
A lot of people think that the Sabbath is legalistic or only for Jews, but is not true. The Sabbath was created in the beginning when God rested on the seventh day from all his work that He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it, He rested from all His work which God had created and made. The Sabbath is also in the 10th commandment as a reminder and Jesus kept the sabbath when he was on the earth, and even the disciples continue to keep the sabbath after Jesus went to Heaven. Thank God for Sabbath!
thank you for the sweet video :) yes it is wonderful with the sabbath rest! I think it is good to keep it simple, it says in the Word just that we should not work on the sabbath, it is much freedom!
Thank you for this. The Lord has been showing me that the sabbath is Jesus (spiritual) but also physical (rest) I need rest as a homemaker. My husband rests on Saturday from work but I don’t because I still cook for him and the kids and I still clean so I was starting to feel resentment towards him. I asked God for forgiveness and I asked Him what should I do he said “keep the sabbath, and it will be fair and just for everyone to rest” so I’m starting tomorrow (tonight at sunset) and I’m looking for how other Christian moms do this 😄 Thank you for your video. Also just a tip; add the water before you add the Dr. Brooners soap to the soap dispenser, it creates less bubbles and you won’t waste any soap trying to fill it up. God bless you and your home may the peace of our Lord Jesus be with you, amen 🙏 💕
Yes- He is Lord of the Sabbath and is our Sabbath rest 🙂 Sorry to hear that, sis. Resentment is easy to build up- we constantly need to check ourselves. Lovely!!!!! That's a VERY interesting tip- I'll try to remember it for next time I fill the spray bottle but it totally makes sense!! Thank you, sis. I've been thinking of making a sabbath DITL video but my sabbath's are not consistent in that they tend to look different on each one, so not sure if there's much point lol. xx
I'm Sventh Day Adventist so naturally, I keep the Sabbath day holy. Not even close to perfect, ill tell you that. I often catch certain thoughts and im like, "Why am i thinking that right now?" My motto is always to avoid doing or conversing about things that can be done any other regular day. If its not life-threatening, it can wait 24 hours. Lately, I am trying to get my family to have a nature walk every Sabbath afternoon. Just to connect with the God of nature, to recalibrate. I think its a blessing God blessed us with the Sabbath and the older i get, the more i appreciate its importance. Since i was a little girl, I helped mummy every Friday to cook enough for the sabbath and store away only to warm up tomorrow. We cleaned the house as though Jesus would only be hosted by our family😂Clothes ironed, shoes polished. No TV on Friday night (because we observe Sabbath from Friday sundown till Saturday sundown) and this is how i fo it in my house even now.
In my opinion and how the Holy Spirit is moving me, no cleaning, no cooking.. ie electric or gas stoves, no travelling, no buying or selling meaning no stores and restaurants. I try to make enough food the day before to last me and my dog on the sabbath day. Even if it's just peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. Am I perfect ? absolutely not. I even got convicted the last sabbath when I was going to put a trash bag in the trash can. I just dropped it and said to myself it can wait till the morning.
Hey sis, thanks for asking!!! I'm ok thank you, and will be back to posting videos in the next few weeks or so, God willing. Just waiting for Yah's inspiration. I hope you're OK, too xx
