Thanks you Ramencoke! I'm grateful that it resonates with you & that you see the value in using Notion for such purposes! I've been on a bit of a channel hiatus lately due to some client work & other projects, but I do plan to get back to uploading some helpful videos in a similar capacity later on as time allows (earliest availability late Q1/ Early Q2 2023). For now, the template is available on my Gumroad!

Thank you for sharing this video! im not a musician or producer, but im getting a lot of ideas and inspiration on how to apply all of this to my notion as a dancer/choreographer. This is so cool. Thank you, this is by far the best video about "notion for artists/creatives" i've ever seen. A lot of the things i've seen are all aesthetic and no functionality. You da real mvp. Imma start organizing my shit rn haha

Thank you for the regards! I was indeed happy with the implementation of the Tags! I'm considering what it might look like for a future edition, since there's been Notion updates that provide a couple other functionalities that I'm taking into consideration for my templates. We will see if anything changes - but for now I think this version still works wonders & I still use it today!

I just got into Notion recently when it became clear that my Apple Notes app was just out of control (and hard to find anything). As a creative, it's really helpful to ground myself with a utility like this so I have a home to gather all my ideas, inspirations, ongoing projects, and track it all so I can actually get stuff done and stick with it. This template looks awesome - I love the detailed tracking which will be motivating, and the Word Bank idea is great - previously in Notes I literally just had random lists which were basically dumps of words or phrases I found interesting... trouble with that system is when the list gets super long, there's no good way to find or tag or contextualize anything for future writing. Thanks for spending time to create this awesome template and sharing the walkthrough. I'm gonna give it a try and will let you know in the future how it goes!🔥

Glad to hear it! More on the horizon, I'll be checking in soon. (Just as I was due to return I had a close friend pass away which was sad & unforeseen, so I've been taking on those grievances & treating myself with grace.) I won't let that stop what's coming though, comments like these help me to remember that there's purpose behind what I'm doing... so check back soon!

@@AyyoJayy Definitely! Using integrated Databases that consolidate songs (records) / albums by these larger buckets helps to make sure there's no unnecessary data duplication! Glad it helps!

Great, I like your design and how you set up Notion! There are some new features in Notion like "buttons" which could be used to add a new record ("Song") instead of using the gallery view?

Yeap that is true! I had actually implemented that since this video got released, but have not yet rolled it out to the template offering since there's some other upgrades / changes I'm looking to make as welll before I publish those updates. How do you define "Records" and "Albums"? I'm looking through your template at the Properties of each, and they seem to have a lot of overlap. Can you clarify?

What I noticed is that you don't use a board view for the stages, i.e. Composing, Mixing/Mastering, Signed, Published etc. or are these just other views which are not visible in the video? Btw... for tracks you use the status property and for albums a selection property with stages?

That is correct! I had not used a Board View for the records database, as it just didn't end up being a heavily used view in my workflow over the course of creation & testing. It is absolutely something you can add to the DB though if you feel that it more appropriately suits your workflow & organization style!

@@wildenfreetech I was able to figure out the issue. The template size is big enough to where the workspace you give won’t open unless you definitely sign up for a premium subscription. Once I tried that everything worked. Not sure if I missed that requirement somewhere, but if it’s not there highlighting it would be great

Yeah definitely signing up for an account would help... but it's peculiar, the template size shouldn't be something that forces a higher plan subscription, since even the free tier has unlimited block storage? Something I will have to look into... thanks for bringing that up! And Thank you for the kind regards! 🤣 I actually don't? I'm still not even fully aware of what mousse actually is or what it is for LOL. Anyway, I really don't do much of anything except apply some Gjungle oil every now & then, oh and wash it thoroughly every few weeks. (my friend who initially loc'd my hair years ago is the one who makes & sells Gjungle oil, and they have an online shop: www.gjungleoil.shop/)
