Loved this take on it. I have ADHD and Notion feels like the only way I can organize my brain. It gives me the flexibility to customize the platform until it feels like a tool that reflects my thinking process in a tangible way. I'm always looking for ways to work with it better so I'm happy I found your page!
Thank you for the thoughts here & the warm regards! I know there's a good deal of Notion RU-vidrs out there and what makes this all special is that we can all contribute valuable ideas to the ecosystem. Notion is so flexible & modular, that there seems to be no end to the many ways we can choose to make use of the platform! Hoping my the things I decide to share here provide a meaningfully unique perspective that help people get a greater sense of what they can do with no-code software toolmaking platforms like Notion - amongst other things too! I'll be sharing my thoughts on some relevant web3 related things as welll!
Totally agree. Since diving into the Notion API and building my systems with it, i discovered how powerful notion actually is. Especially when it comes to structuring qualitative data (block by block). There is so much power to organize information...which is essentially what IT is. Great video!
Notion works best as just being a second brain to store knowledge and help you make new connections between notes. The elements can be stretched to mimic other popular productivity and calendar apps, but it's not that intuitive, often requires a lot of work arounds, and isn't beginner friendly. Notion is best suited for those people who want a lot of creative freedom and who don't mind taking the time to design a system that works with their way of thinking and lifestyle.
Great video, I kinda feel the same way myself, but cannot clearly express it. Thanks for pointing it out, I definitely will follow you! Looking forward to more insights from you!
This is a really helpful perspective! I've recently been experimenting with no-code app design to create the executive functioning tools I couldn't find, but now you've got me wondering if I might be able to create what I need in Notion! It's been a few years since I've used it - I'm going to take another look at it. (I'm working on building supports for flexible routines, and a way to use check-in questions to connect me with appropriate strategies in my toolkit.)
Indeed, and typically these require a sophisticated approach & meaningful strategy before they yield the desired result! Quite often, No-Code development tools are not even truly for the end user... but a way to lower the barrier to entry for custom builds, for those who are not programmers & devs. Notion really started to flip the game on its head by being a No-Code development tool that the average, day-to-day user would interface with!
