I used to package things with tissue paper over the clear bags I use for storage until I got two different complaints about being wasteful and one how that’s the opposite reason of why they shop on Poshmark and I wasn’t being sustainable 💀
Randomly stumbled on this shorts! I use posh too! My husband actually built a tool for it and so the past few months I have gotten into it so much more but I have used it for about 7 years now which is crazy!
It looks fabulous but I just pack reusing packing material from things I bought. I send a message that I will track and let them know when to expect it. The day it shows out for delivery I text that info and also a thank you. Less paper used and I have several 5 star reviews.
I do reuse packing material for bigger items like purses & shoes. That’s a great idea to just message them! This video is a little old though. I actually don’t send thank you cards anymore. I just put a thank you sticker somewhere on the packaging.
@@helloimjen7 oh yeah definitely use it all!😊 padded envelopes, flat rate envelopes, boxes, priority stickers, etc. I just ordered some supplies to have delivered so it's super convenient. Idk if you have a rollo but if you do make sure to buy the free thermal labels on UPS site as well. 🌞
@@taniam.4554 Yes, so convenient!! They have free thermal labels?!?! 😱 I just bought a thermal printer but it’s not Rollo brand. Do you think they will still work??
@@helloimjen7 well I can't say 100% but try it out you wont lose anything. I have a rollo and use thermal labels that say dymo on the back and work fine. I'd say as long as there 4×6 thermals you should be fine. You can order as much as a big case or just a big roll. Ships free to you as well. Its awesome!!🔥
Hi, thank you for this video!! I'm planning on opening my first shop on poshmark. What are pros and cons? Things to watch out for? Also, what do you search for on the usps website to get the *free* polymailers? On their website, I checked the free shipping supplies but couldn't find the bagged ones. Thank you in advance!
You're so welcome!! Good luck, you've got this! 👍🏼 Pros are obviously extra money 🤑 but also it's become my favorite hobby (& now full time job!). It's also really nice to be able to work from home at whatever time is convenient for you. The biggest Poshmark pro vs other platforms is that shipping is so easy since they email you the shipping label. Cons: Poshmark has the highest fee out of any platform, but you don't have to worry about weighing each item & figuring out shipping on your own. Another con is that to get your items seen you need to "share" your items several times throughout the day. I use a website on my laptop called Flyp that shares my closet for me. It's free but you have to refresh it once a day & leave it constantly running on your computer. The USPS polymailers are called the "Priority Mail Tyvek Envelopes". I could go on for days but I hope this is helpful! 😘
@@helloimjen7 I'm happy to hear that what was once just your hobby is now also your main source of income! Win-win for sure :) Thank you so much for the quick response. This was extremely helpful!! 🥰Wishing you continued success in your business, love! May it continue to flourish and thrive, as I'm sure it will because of your work ethic and character❤
@@donitarose4353 You are so sweet!! Thank you so much! 🥰🥰 I wish you the best with starting up your store. Let me know if you have any other questions! 💕💕
Shipping is $7.97 for every order on Poshmark unless it’s over 5 lbs. When you make a sale you will be emailed a shipping label. Let me know if you have more questions! 😊
I have a question if i may ask but how do you make these shipping labels at home? I recently wanted to start my own business and im learning how to send a package but i don't know where to get these shipping labels.
You just print it off on your regular printer (from the email they send you with the shipping label) & then cut it out & tape it on! I actually now have a shipping label printer so it prints the correct size & onto a big sticker that I just peel & stick on!
You can ship with whatever you want! I now use USPS polymailers just because they're free but I use my own boxes all the time (like Amazon boxes). Just make sure to cover up any old barcodes.
I put them in my mailbox. If I have boxes I schedule a pick up on USPS.com for them to pick up on my porch. If I have a ton of packages (mostly after a live show) I'll take them to to post office. 🙂
@@helloimjen7I have 2 padded envelopes my very first sold item in posh, do I always need to schedule for a pick up or I can just leave them in my mailbox since I can print labels at home.
@@jonasanjose5407 Congrats on your first sale!!! 🎉 If your mailbox is big enough you should be able to put them in it! That’s what I do. I only schedule a pickup if they don’t fit in the mailbox.
@@helloimjen7can you show us how you pack your orders now? I recently switched jobs and have to sell scrubs and shoes I can no longer use, I don’t know where or how to start!
@@lunallenalunallena yes! Pretty much the same except I use the USPS mailers now (that are free) & I have real shipping labels now that stick on so I don't have to tape them. I plan on making an updated video soon though!
@@helloimjen7 how does a buyer contact you? I just got a comment asking to text the buyer with more pictures of the item I’m selling. I’m thinking of getting a texting app for these situations
@@lunallenalunallena Don't do that!! It's most likely a scam. Only communicate through Poshmark. If you're willing to take more photos then just upload them under that listing. You can communicate by commenting on the post.
How do you print labels? why can’t you just right their address on it and take it to the mail? i’m young and am clearly new to this 😅 but these are actual questions i have!
Hello! So when you sell something you will get an email with the shipping label & that’s what you will want to print. You have to use the shipping label so it can be tracked by poshmark with the bar code on it. Hope that helps!! 😊💕
The only email I got was a demand for $300, then they demanded $500, so they got me for $800! They wanted two more “gift cards” $500 each… That’s when I knew I was scammed.
