love your video Seán! do you mix in mono when you are gonna post some music on instagram? or maybe ally some effect in the master bus, knowing that the people who listen probably are going to liste in his smartphones speakers?
Thanks for watching Ismael! I usually just mix a track for IG the same way I would mix for any other medium - although much faster so it's never perfect! I might add more bottom end if it's only for social media. Checking for mono compatibility is super important these days as most phones only have one speaker, but I always mix in stereo and aim to make sure it's ok in mono along the way. I also upload on an android phone so the uploaded audio is in stereo for headphone users - iPhones only upload in mono! FWIW, I'll always try to make everything sounds as good as possible and upload that, but Instagram will still destroy the audio quality on upload haha.
Thanks for watching! No major tips, but facing away from computer monitors and peripherals (that are prone to noise and interference with single coils) greatly helps! I use the gate in the Helix and the newer Horizon gate in firmware 3.0 for higher gain tones quite a lot as well!
Thanks Kevin! I'm using a Lumix G7 and G9 in all my videos. I just recently upgraded my main shot lens to a Sigma 16mm 1.4, so my main angle looks a little different. Still figuring it out!
I currently use the Focusrite Clarett 4 Pre interface. It's a higher end interface than the Scarlett range with improved preamps and converters, but they're both great. As long as you don't drive the gain on the solo too hard, it's still a clean option!
