Living a debt free life is indeed liberating and offers a sense of peace/calm to one's life. But we have to be mindful that this slow and calm lifestyle in the countryside (that you're living) is not for everyone, cause I know of many people who love the fast pace of city lifestyle. And what may feel like excessive monthly expenditure of $2000, may not be excessive if their income is 5 or 10 times more than their expenditure....it's all relative. I think that as long as we are happy in whatever we do and be wise in financial management, we are on the right path.
That is true. One's lifestyle is a personal choice. City life or country life, the most important is finding contentment and peace in one's situation. Thank you for sharing your insights.
Being credit debt free is key to contentment in life and health, physical and mental. In America average debt just on credit cards is over 5,000$, 960 billion as a whole in CC debt. It does effect health, many personal crisis comes from this. I don't know how young people will make ends meet in this world, in America mean, debt all the way neck high. I know I am seriously considering Chiang Mai, find is there some beauty and peace of mind and soul left in this world.
I agree. Having a lot of debts in the past, it put me in a lot of stress. But getting out of debt is liberating in so many levels. It takes mindset shift and discipline but the end-result is worth all that effort. 🙂
