I really appreciate what you said about editing film scans, just edit how you want, there are no hard and fast rules and just make the kind of art you want to see. I really like that, and watching your videos is so fun, I can't wait to start developing and scanning my own film. :>
Instead of going through the process of exporting and importing the positive, there is a box at the bottom of the NLP you can check that says “make copy” and it creates a positive copy for you :) I’ve also been under the impression that you should set the white balance from a border on the negative in Lightroom prior to converting 🤷🏻♀️ There’s so many ways to scan and I feel like everyone I talk to does it differently lol I love seeing others workflows so thank you for sharing!
Every time I try make a copy it never makes it positive! I think its a glitch on my part. I also know the original instructions from NLP were to set the white balance from the negative border before converting but they have since changed that. I've tried both ways and haven't found much of a difference, so I don't think it really matters. I love seeing how other people do theirs too, I think its interesting!
Thanks for showing your workflow :) I use a V600, too, but am still manually messing around with Photoshop out of habit. I should probably move on to NLP as well.
Weel didn;t find the hidden film :( saw the first one right away!! good job, please let us know where it is later :) love that you say to edit as you want, that is the best advice for sure. to much of 'do it my way or the highway' in film photography. always great videos, keeps me inspired
Anyone who questions "why shoot film if you're going to edit your negatives", doesn't understand that negative film is literally meant to be edited. Once digital came around it's not like those of us who still shot film just gave up the techniques we spent years utilizing. Slide film was meant to be shot, processed and projected, negative film was meant to printed and give you the latitude to edit your photos the way you want.
