I moved my jewelry supplies off my main workdesk this year because it was more importing to have tools I use daily close to hand. Here is what I did with them! Plus a few other tidbits.

Hey Lindsay....would you mind doing a video on the SNC, just your basic 'how to cut a stamped image'? Believe it or not, I bought a SNC (my first one) over six months ago and haven't even used it yet. I'm not very 'tech savvy' and all I want to know is how to cut stamped images, of course, the easiest way possible. Please know that I understand if you can't and that there are other tutorials out there, but you have a gift of explaining things in 'simple understanding terms'. Thanks Lindsay.

I was going to suggest the Papered Chef too...her youtube tutorials are free, she explains everything as she goes and shows you how she uses the final product...I don't have a SNC and I love watching her videos b/c I can produce her projects without the SNC and her tutes have taken the fear out of me buying the SNC and having to figure out how it works.

I have like six washy tapes but four sets of markers 😂. I’d love a marker wall but I have a toddler that east everything!
@angelhelp
@angelhelp 4 года назад
Have you tried stacking storage cubes? Markers can be kept out of reach for small toddlers by using dollar store silverware organizers. When the toddler begins climbing, begin teaching him/her to use the safe scissors, the inexpensive paper, the washable crayons & markers, cookie-cutters for tracing shapes, tracing paper for more advanced tracing, fancy-edged scissors when hair is understood to be off limits, and inexpensive glue sticks. Make sure you're doing a similar project with similar supplies. You might even make 2 of everything while your child crafts with you... items such as diecuts, pieces of washi tape, etc. Fasten the storage cubes together in columns, then fasten the top one to something more permanent in, on, or near the wall to prevent tipping. Organize your child's supplies with similar silverware holders in the bottom cube. Paper goods could go in the next cube, with the idea that heavy items have less distance to fall, therefore less chance of causing injury, should your child reach for them. A couple reams of cardstock can land on small toes, but making it accessible one sheet at a time should discourage more than can be handled at once. Allow the child to decorate storage containers or to occasionally trade them for different ones, perhaps of another color, perhaps following a seasonal theme.

I will look back at last years room tour, I’m sure I’ve seen it before, but it will be great to look back now that you have explained the organization in segments. I’d love to see the update if there are changes, to see over time which product placement works best in which spot, and maybe why you changed it. i think I keep changing things up because after I organize my storage, I realize which things I reach for most, and want to switch out items. A visual of where items are placed relative to where you work is really useful. Thanks so much. Happy Crafting😀

Always love your ideas! I store my beads in small ziplock type bags and then have all of them in one container storing the upright. The I can flip through them and pick what I want. For me this way takes up way less space than the plastic organizers I had them in. Also I can see everything I have quite quickly. I got this idea from another RU-vid channel, though I can’t remember which one! ☺️💕

Omg, that jug of water, lololol!! I (by myself) built me a craft room in my basement, walls and all, because it was an open full basement and every couple weeks I fill up one water bottle, one lemonade bottle and a gallon Hawaiian punch jug of water and I have one quart antique Mason jar and two old like huge Mayo tubs I empty all my paint water in, so I can dispose of it properly. My husband thought I was crazy because we have drains in the basement, he didn't even think about the fact of the paint in the water. It's a whole process

I've really been enjoying the craft room updates and seeing how you adjust your organization to be best for you. Given me some ideas for myself :) Have you ever considered doing a video that explains the different cutting tools/options. I would love to see how you use your scan and cut and the pros/cons of it compared to the manual die cut machine (and maybe the computer hook up one as well). I have been looking at getting something but it's hard to decide what would be the best choice for me when I haven't used any of them before (I lean towards the manual one but the scan and cut looks not too complicated and maybe a bit more adaptable than the manual machine? Idk, but would love to hear what and how you use them differently and what they could do (if you only had one of them). You are so good at explaining and clarifying these type of decisions for me in the past and I always know how to better use the craft item or supply when I have bought it because usually you have some excellent suggestions to put to use on various ways something would work. Anyways, I know you likely have a video list a mile long but if you're ever looking to add to it would love to see this (or any breakdown of supplies where ther are a lot of similar but different options. It's so helpful to understand the differences, pros, and limitations of them- and you are excellent at breaking all this down on things previously. I hope you're having an excellent weekend! :)

My mom makes necklaces and stuff about once or twice a year. She’s trying to keep all her stuff organized like your room. When it comes to her jewelry making items she has a problem with the long tray that measures the length of the necklace/bracelet. There isn’t a box around that will be able to store that along with her beads in one container. Any ideas? Maybe something that she can make out of another cardboard box?

So many beads from the store are packaged to hang and its so time consuming to take them apart to box. So I decided to use pegboard and just hang them, again. Easy to see and I am able to see different color mixes and bead style combos I might not have noticed otherwise. I use those giant rings meant for belts to hang large stencils.

@thefrugalcrafter
@thefrugalcrafter 4 года назад
I would look for a kit with 3 in 1 pliers, a bead board and supplies for a few basic earrings. Then if they like it and use the supplies then an choose their materials. The Annie's jewelry making kit club is nice because they start you off with free tools and beading guide (and I think they might give you half off your first kit) and if you stay subscribed you get a new project each month for $20. Usually its earring, necklace and bracelet combos or several pairs of earrings. It can allow you to try lots of techniques and styles.
