My father installed a metal rod inbetween two ikea closets with fandom stuff on the shelves, I use the rod to hang quite a few of my visually interesting cosplays on in plain view :D

I store most of my cosplays in little baby crates with the name of the cosplay written in the lid! If all the different pieces of a cosplay are split up, I get really anxious before a con about losing/forgetting certain pieces! ;u;

I have changed how I store my cosplays over the years. Currently, I have all the costumes hanging in a closet. Most of them are long or bulky so hanging them up is best for me. I have a bin with all of my wigs (most of them are not styled so I don't have to worry about keeping them laying flat). A few wigs I also keep on wig heads with a stand. All of my accessories are separated in ziplock bags that I stuff into one plastic bin, and then I have larger plastic bins for all of my large accessories like armor and weapons. Some weapons have to be stored out in the open (I have a bow I made in my living room and another one I made in my bedroom). My dream is to have a single room devoted specifically to cosplay storage and creation.

I needed this my cosplays get no love 😂 When I do Alastor for hazbin I’ll be screwed when it comes to wig storage

i have ocd too (& autism, which is a fun mix lol) and its super neat seeing your process of storing, categorizing, and even explaining it all. super comforting even, i give so much thought to things like this too so it feels understanding n just generally nice

I store my wigs, props and accessory’s basically the same as you but I hang all my cosplays up in a separate wardrobe to my normal clothes. I have few cosplays at the moment so they fit in there nicely.

I feel you with the limited space for cosplay storage. I have to store everything in my (on the smaller side) bedroom. I have a wardrobe that I use to store my cosplays but my basics (like button-ups, blazers, pants, etc.) I put in my "normal" closet. My wigs I store under my bed in 2 rolling plastic boxes ( one fore natural colored wigs the other for colorful wigs) and I have them in ziplock bags. I keep my jewelry in tower drawers and I put my small props/weapons there too. Medium to Large weapons are just in a corner of my room. My belts and unstructured hats are also in a rolling tube under my bed and my structured hats are on top of the wardrobe. I have one styled wig that I leave on a foam head on my counter. I also keep my fabric, crafts, and tools on the other side of the wardrobe. I think that's all my spaces haha. On another note. Have you discussed how you store your cosplay makeup? I would love to see a video on that.

for people looking for large ziploc bags you can get reasonably big packs of pretty large ones from ikea!!! they’re meant for food but i use them the same way, a smaller one for a wig and a larger one for a cosplay, and then i staple them together so the full set is kept together!

as someone with clinical ocd as well, it’s nice to have this video! thank you :) losing things and breaking things has always been a big big concern/stressor of mine, your method is something i’m definitely gonna try!

Some great suggestions I'm definitely going to use the zip lock bags iv recently got

Zip bags, zip bags and more zip bag! I don't have many cosplays so it's easy to store them. The "main" costume I hang in my closet, bigger accessories are in big zip bags, and inside big bag there is at least one smaller with small accessories (like earrings, socks etc. ), wigs are in zip bags too, everything in a box

I actually store mine remarkably similar to you. I was pretty worried I wasn't storing them right. I have a big wardrobe so all my clothing items live in there, then an accessories box and a delicate accessories box, my props live in the shed (which probably isn't the best place for them) and my wigs are in their shipping bags in a bag for life. I don't have enough space really to keep wigs up all the time. I used to but they ended up getting super tangled from having to brush past them to get through my room because it's quite small.

Thank you for sharing your organization tips! I hang most of my costumes in the closet, with the matching accessories in a shopping bag looped around the hanger to keep all the parts together.

Bruh I have a wig WALL. Also most of my cosplay's are hung up in my closet since it's slightly bigger, we're planning to get one of those racks they have at stores for me and my sister's cosplays because they are piling up. Props just go in my desk, I have a set of double arms for one of my cosplays (Angel Dust) and those are just chilling in the corner of my room.

This reminds me to leave more space for normal clothes in my closet haha. I've hanged all my cosplays in dress garment bags separated by lenthg, color etc. Wigs are stored in a big binned if they're styled & if it light style. If its heavily styled I try to get a box & put it in there or on top of my wigs. All unstyled wigs are in a drawer in my room which are alot...

Wow, without having watched this video until now, I actually store my cosplays in an extremely similar way. And having seen other cosplayers videos about their storage we seem to all adopt similar ways of making our pieces take up as little space as possible. Love your videos! They help keep cosplay alive while cons are unavailable.

I do pretty much the same things! I'd would also recommend that when storing cosplays or pieces in bins, to put a paper inside against a clear wall that says what costumes and parts are in it! Makes it a lot easier especially when you have several bins of cosplays. You won't have to russle through every single bin to find what you need.

The way I store my wigs is I just put them in in the bag they came with and put them in a tote box and I just hang up my cosplays and cosplay props in a bag in a drawer, for bigger props (hammers, swords etc.) in a building

I haven't done many cosplays yet, but the way I've been storing mine so far is that I will put them in a cardboard box so they're nice and stackable, but then paint the outside of the box to look like a recognizable design from the character I had cosplayed. That way I can still recognize them easily when they're all stacked up but I get to have a little artistic moment before I say goodbye to the cosplay for awhile.

personally, i have a giant chest drawer that is purely for cosplay, each drawer is either a different category of cosplay or is for props. as for wigs if the wig is too long or big to store in a bag (i rlly hate bag storage for my long wigs) i hang them on my wall with thumb tacks. if its a short wig tho i will put it in the storage net and stack them neatly on my shelf

I have started keeping them in vacuum bags. I also bought a vmstr travel vacuum on Amazon so it saves on space in my suitcase when travelling also making it lighter to carry.

I have an entire room with a double size built in wardrobe, my cosplays are stored in bags or on hangars depending on the type and the wigs are all in seperate labelled bags in a plastic tub, styled wigs hang out on wig heads or my mannequin! I also always have one cosplay on my mannequin in my living room

I'm only now finding this video and *Subscribed*! I love all the ways you store your cosplay costumes and wigs! I currently have a Walk-In Closet so I am able to hang up almost all my costumes although it's starting to get tight so I might resort to plastic storage bins here soon. For wigs and smaller accessories I actually do something similar to what you're doing-I store em in a Ziplock baggy and Sharpie a name on there, If I have accessories or props that I don't think will damage the wig, I'll toss them in there too just for easier-findings of things. Otherwise I have accessories scattered EVERYWHERE in my bedroom.

Like how to get them followers hehehe, what info to share with your audience and what not to share and not to share (to prevent people from stalking you and knowing your real name and address), etc. because i noticed that some cosplayers are food at holding their identities and even how they look irl and i also would like to do the same thing because I’m moving more into becoming more lowkey. I’m still working on my storage space, but I have a dresser with all the drawers used for different kinds of accessories and props, and then I have four bins, one for jackets, one for shirts and pants, one for dresses and petticoats, and then I have one for all my wigs (which stay in the bags they come in). I have one wig head that stays in my room for styling wigs, but I wash it out when I’m done since I repurpose my wigs for several characters

We’re still in the process of getting rid of a ton of crap in our house, so my method of storing cosplays is sort of a WIP; but so far I have most of my completed costume outfits in one closet (excluding one that’s complete, along with a few in progress), along with 8 out of 15 (soon to be either 16 or 17) pairs of shoes. Styled wigs will go on a shelf, while unstyled wigs will go in a drawer in the bags they came in.

Personally I do not have a room/location to keep al my stuff (good thing I don't have many, even if I do want more in the near future) Because of this I need to keep it all in my room. I have 1 little shelf in my closet for some outfits and wig keeping. Other then that I have just some stuff stored under my bed and where things fit. Some props like masks I have just hanging around in my room as decor because that is the safest way I can keep them. Again, thank you so much for your tips ♡♡ ^^

I also store each cosplay in a separate bag. For items that need to be hung, I put them on hangers and attach the bag to that hanger. But I do have a few items that I use for multiple cosplays. For those I store them either with the cosplay I plan on using first or completely separate from both cosplays. One of the things that wasn't mentioned here was shoes. Most of the characters I cosplay wear boots which I store at the bottom of my wardrobe. The others I store in shoe boxes stacked up in a corner of my room. As for wigs, I keep my active wigs on wig hangers I got off of Amazon. The rest are stored with my costumes. I have 2 wigs which have "permanent styles". One of them is just a really thick and complex wig which takes ages to brush and style, I keep that one on it's own wig hanger. The other is my senku wig, which is just tall and a nightmare to fix if/when you squash it, I keep that one on a mannequin head, that I may or may not have stolen from my cousin (dw, she's fine with it), on my desk. I hang my wig hangers on the ends of my curtain pole cause I'm broke and don't have anywhere else to hang them. Then in terms of props: if they're small and not fragile (such as a notebook, magazine or old flip phone) they get put in the bag with their assigned cosplay. As for my larger props: my Harley Quinn baseball bat lives in one of her boots; my Minecraft grass block lives on top of my gaming cabinet as a kind of decoration; my mic stand is disassembled and stored in and around the boots I use for that character and my Marceline bass lives on a guitar stand in my music corner with all my other instruments.

I luckily don't have as many cosplays as you, so I simply hang up all mt outfits unless they're more casual, which in that that case I put into my wardrobe. I usually have 1 entire cosplay on 1 hanger, jacket or shirt goes around the top part unbuttoned/unzipped while everything else is folded and draped over the center of the hanger

This is really helpful. I don't have much stuff for cosplay but it is accumulating and becoming more cluttered. I store my wigs and cosplays in bags and all of them are lined up in plastic storage bins. The only props I really have are horns for Homestuck characters and that's where the mess comes in. They're hand made and I'm afraid of them bending. Storing them is the main problem. Most of them are too heavy to sit on a wig head so they are in a pile in a bin gently laying on each other.

I feel like this might be the first or second time I’ve seen you without a wig. Your hair’s so nice! This vid was awesome, but man, I wish I had your level of organization. I’ve yet to cosplay for real and one thing stopping me is that I’ve got so much shit unorganized that I wouldn’t have any place to put my cosplays.

i love the organization! i might steal the ideas myself. i usually go by if they're 'socially acceptable' or not, aha. peko pekoyama has a pretty normal schoolgirl uniform, so that's one i would classify 'socially acceptable', one i can hang up and wear outside with no judgement. one that isn't is my tsukasa yugi cosplay. he has a kimono, and around my area, it's really uncommon to wear clothes of different cultures, so i fold it and put it in a drawer :)

i have a whole room for my stuff, i've build up my own shelf system with a curtain, so that my crafting stuff is at one place and it looks neat when someone comes in~ costumes that i can fold etc are on the lowest shelves and underneath them is some space for my shoes :3 the costumes that i need to hang up are in my closet xD i actually store the wigs like you: styled wigs or current used wigs are on wigheads and the rest stays in the plastic bags :)

The plastic bin idea is nice! I'm in the middle of trying to store my cosplay stuff and cardboard boxes wasn't really my favorite way to go about it (damn you dad for taking my sister's empty closet).

I store my wigs the same as you, only my wig box is cardboard and is up on a shelf in my closet. As for everything else, it's all a mess. I moved 3 years ago and just haven't figured out a good method yet. I used to just hang them all because I have very little other things that need hanging. But the bars for hanging in my closets here are very weak and it doesn't take much to bend them out of shape. I put one cosplay up (cloak, shirt, skirt, vest) and the bar started bending. Replacing the bars and closet organization is on the to do list for fixing up the house but we have other things that are more important. (Like replacing windows so we can save on the heating/cooling bills) so yeah, I have my cosplays scattered around all over the place.

I use under the bed boxes that I got from Walmart to store my hearty cosplays, delicates go in the closet, props go in a separate box. My non styled wigs are stored on an over the door shoe holder
