Hi Shea! I'm from Hungary and I'm gonna do my Italian language exam on the 4th and 6th of April, but I've been studying Italian for 4 years. Since I've found your channel, your videos are the ones that I watch when I need a little bit of motivation or comfort. I've just wanted to let you know that you have helped me a lot and I really like your videos and energy!🥰

Thanks, as always, for your tips! I'm at a point in my A-2 Italian learning that I need to put in a lot of extra time. Past tense reflexives and essere-based reflexives in general have me twisted. I know the only way to work through it is to do more of it! I do work from home, and your video came at the perfect time to help me figure out how I can incorporate these verb tenses into my days.

Exactly! It’s easy to avoid the tough stuff but practicing it is the only way to get better. I’m glad my video helped give you some study ideas!

So inspirational! I moved to Japan and also have to learn Japanese while working fulltime; the struggle is real! But if you have a strategy, you can definitely do it while keeping your goals in your mind!

Cool to see the behind the scenes to your italki video. Seems like a cool thing to try! Love those earrings too! In South America I've experienced the staring thing, especially on the metro. I think they could tell we were American and not from the country and they find that interesting / odd. Haha. And yes, some people are not afraid of doing it.

Thanks! Yeah I love italki, I like having my weekly sessions, it helps a lot. That’s true about why people may stare, some people just really aren’t ashamed 😂 it’s so crazy to me, I hate making eye contact hahaha!

Awesome video. Thank you. I have sort of the same relationship with my iTalki tutor! She lives in Udine and we plan to meet up next month. Thanks for the online Italian club tip!

I've heard the German stare is even worse than the Italian one. As an American who is going to be moving to Italy in the next few months, I have to prepare myself to not fight everyone who stares at me 😂

Hahah I’ve heard that too! Although I’ve never been to Germany yet, but I heard it’s worse. Haha trust me I’ve been ready to fight sometimes 😂

Hi Shea. I’m living in northern Italy right now as well and have definitely been stared at! :). My mom always used to tell me to assume they like what they see or they wouldn’t be looking. Also, I’m a lot older than you, but you’ve said you have an Italian boyfriend-do you speak Italian or English together? Also, have you made Italian friends now that you can speak Italian well?
@SheaJordan
@SheaJordan 4 месяца назад
Haha that’s a good assumption 😂. So I typically speak in Italian withy boyfriend and we always did until recently. He’s trying to work on his English so now a few days out of the week we decide to speak in English, and the rest in Italian. 😊 And yes I have a nice mix of Italian friends and other Americans who live here!

shea, how do you come up with ideas to talk with your tutor?
@SheaJordan
@SheaJordan 4 месяца назад
Actually your tutor should guide you and come up with topics! Now since I’m more comfortable I also find ways to keep the conversation going, but if you have a good tutor they should actually be the ones leading the conversation, it shouldn’t be up to you.

Hi! I have a question. What is your real job?. I mean... It's a question I do all the time with the polyglots because if you are a languages teacher ok. But... There are polyglot who don't work in that and It's something that makes me very curious. What else do they do?
@SheaJordan
@SheaJordan 4 месяца назад
I talk about it in the video a bit, I work as a content creator and do copywriting and make video marketing content for all sorts of brands. I don’t do any work in Italian actually, language learning is a hobby for me, but it’s also important because I live in Italy, so I use the language here. But a lot of polyglots just study languages as a hobby as well, you don’t necessarily need to work as a teacher! 😊
