Ive always said this about riding street bikes.ill die by saying that anyone who says if you start out on a 600, 750, or 1000cc bike, youre an idiot and blah blah. When the ONLY thing it comes down to is discipline and practice! Practice a shit ton, and stay disciplined while riding. Some cant control that urge, but a LOT can. That mindset has gave me no issues riding my 600 or my 1000. 💯
I just had my first struggle with resisting the urge to speed on yesterday. Im going on a vacation so it gives me time from the bike to get my mind back together
I've been watching your videos i got My bike probably 3 weeks ago it's a yamaha fz6r with 15000 miles it's a 09 model and very clean. Hope you have a great day and be safe
I liked and subscribed. Your R1 is beautiful. This is the second video I have seen of yours, I will check if there are more. I want an R1. I have never had a cross-plane R1 or ridden one. I owned an 07 R1, the last generation before the cross-plain, and the first generation 99 R1. I like your enthusiasm and I can hear the engine pretty well. I started riding on a 250 back in 1981. I didn't want to kill myself, and I'm short. I bought a cruiser so I could reach the ground. I wanted to upgrade after 3 weeks, but it was fun ripping through the gears! I learned about bikes from 5 or 6 magazines that came out every month and did reviews on the new bikes. There was no internet or mounted cameras. No power modes, abs, traction control or any of that. Throttle, brakes, and clutch, oh, and a choke for cold starts. A couple of my early bikes had kick-starters in addition to the electric starter. Anyway I have owned 17 bikes over the years and ridden many others including some Harleys, all different sizes and makes. All Japanese and American, never had a chance to try any European bikes. In my opinion you would probably have more fun on an R6 than on that R1. Winding out the motor full throttle through some gears is exciting. An R6 looks like an R1 and it has some power. You can rip through the gears without ending up deep into triple digit speeds. Less expensive bike, cheaper insurance, and cheaper parts. I felt I learned how to go fast easier on a 600, I went back and forth between 600's and 1000's in the late 80's and early 90's. Since they are going to discontinue the R1, I'm glad you got one and I wish you the best with it. I want another R1 because the first two I had ripped corners and I love corners. I find they also wheelie really good. I currently have a 21'GSXR1000R. I have had it for 3 years now and still have stock exhaust, maybe next year I will get a pipe and tune...anyway keep practicing and focus on your skills. I will look out for your content. Be safe!
It really means alot to me that you took the time to type of that. I would have got the R6 if it was not discontinued. I was really content on getting a brand new bike as my first one. I wanted the new TFT display and I like having warranties on things that I buy. People are also charging crazy prices for used R6s right now as well. I plan on getting an exhaust here soon because I know people dont like the stock sound and it is safer for traffic.
You seem to be doing well with your R1. I'm not pleased that Yamaha scrapped the R6 and plan to scrap the R1. The R7 and R9 are weak replacements. I like your videos and I want to see you develop your skills on that bike. Peace.
Bro, it's a beautiful bike. I got my first minibike when I was 4 years old. I have been riding ever since and I am almost 54. R1s are a great bike but you sound like you are in your early 20s and this is your first bike? This is an expert level bike. You are talking and using your hands as you talk. I don't know you at all bro but I don't want you to lose your life. This bike is too much bike and you go from a From to this? It's a great bike and you should keep it but you need to be on a 500 for a while until you understand how two tires and centrifugal force work. The best thing you can do is ride on a dirt bike for a while. You can be a prodigy rider but the other people in cars are morons and until you learn how to navigate that bike and learn how to ride. If you were my real bro, I would teach you but you are out here going lone wolf on an R1 and there is no person who has owned an R1 who would say that should be your starter bike. If I didn't care about you, I'd scroll on by. That bike will kill you bro. Work your way up to it. You can respect that bike all you want and it will still kill you. I had a CBR XX 1100 Blackbird turbo. I never drove that bike under 120 mph and that's because it is safer to drive a bike like that at that speed so you only worry about what's in front of you. I am an expert rider and I just don't want you getting hurt. You keep riding while taking your hands off the handlebars. You just don't have the experience yet bro. That bike will end you. You have really bad habits already that are going to get you hurt or in a wheel chair.
I really appreciate your concern for my life. I know the bike will kill me or it will be me killing myself as i am the one controlling the bike. This is just the beginning for me and I will work on the things you mentioned. Thanks for watching the video.
Thank you for sharing your personal experience on this R1! As for exhausts, there aren’t many out there, but if you want something loud, unique and built great; look into RaceFit exhaust. You will not regret your decision. Safe riding and RYOR 🤙🏼
