The natural evolution of an athlete or fighter often completes itself in a full-circle progression - where the student becomes the teacher. Since I have officially taken on that role as a coach in recent years, I’d like to update you on my teaching style by sharing some #MuayThai drills alongside Coach Bob Peach of Beacon MMA in Cherry Hill, NJ.

That is a great point about not overwhelming students with too many details while teaching technique.

16 years ago I walked into a sweaty Muay Thai gym in south Philly and a guy who looked like he drank a lot of beer smiles and said welcome to Daddis MMA A year later I was competing and knocking guys out and I’ve traveled all over the world fighting and training. I never knew that Bob Peach studied Engineering like I did and never knew he went to the same college (a few years before me) that I did, and it was crazy seeing him and the Daddis Fight Banner in this video …… I literally almost dropped my tablet lol and now Peach owns his own gym ….

I know many want to learn Muay Thai for self defense, but honestly I just want to learn it because it seems to be one of the best ways to condition the body and get in shape. I want those Muay Thai abs.

Hey Shane thanks for doing this video. I am a small business owner. I teach Muay Thai kickboxing as self defense not for competition. Our main goal is health and Fitness. My business is ran out of a 500sqft room of a church building. I am looking to expand. I do have a handwrap curriculum system for our self defense kickboxing program. I really enjoy your videos. I will look into your program. Thank you Shane and team.

As a theoretical physics major...I always wondered how i'd balance my study with my martial arts. I mean u really can't go further than training unless I wanna start loosing brain cells and loose my degree lol. Now seeing Coach Bob who was acomplish such a feat balancing both his degree and sports, is awe inspiring. All respect to him!

Absolutely love the content. It's just a shame that it's locked behind wodify as I already have gym management software I am happy with and it's such a big hassle to switch. Any chance the full length classes will be available anywhere else?

Great video, great gym. I love the diversity of the disciplines taught there! I just have a technical question regarding the kick catching technique shown here. In Japanese Jiu Jitsu, when you get hold of the enemy's leg like this, you would rather step back quickly to pull the enemy off balance making him drop down. To me, forcing the enemy to turn around looks a bit like an opportunity unused. Is it just not the Muay Thai way to do such takedowns or is it considered a viable option there, too?
