This video was awesome. Great tips. It’s refreshing to see a setup/how to video with quick and concise ways to get the most out of technology. Love your channel.
Nice video I used to have an Apple Watch but ditched it for a Garmin Epix Gen 2 about 2 years ago. It’s interesting to see that it’s improving as a running watch but still lags behind in terms of features. The biggest deal breaker for me though is the lack of battery life. Good luck for the marathon, do you have a goal time?
For Strava you can import everything automatically an maintain "Private" as default, than you decide what make public of available only to your friends. You will save a lot of time ;)
For the price of an ultra, you could get a normal apple watch + a midrange garmin. Not sure it is really worth it if you want it for training. More like, if you already have it, you might as well use it I guess.
The price isn't the only issue. I'm waiting for Apple to come up with a smaller version of Ultra. I have a small wrist(14.5cm/5.5 inch), i use 40mm watch, even 42-45mm watches are a little bit too big for me :( But i want the Ultra so badly :(
The waterlock does not really help me. I would like to get a hardware/button lock instead because my crown somehow is always rotating while running and therefore changing my screens. Very annoying.
I’ve noticed that, even though I ress twice on the action button, it doesn’t launch the fitness application…. The action button used to work after pressing once, later after twice. Not you have to slide on the right to start the workout. Kind of sucks…
Hey nice vid! You got a new Strava follower ;). I would have liked it if you talked about your use of a chest strap. I watched The Qualified Scientist video's where he compared the accuracy of a chest strap vs various Apple Watch models and it seems to be pretty much on par. Is there a specific reason why you're using one? The only way I can find a justification is having the reliability of readings, sometimes if my apple watch band is not tight enough, it simply won't read my heart rate at all.
Hi! Great video! I’m going to start using that custom workouts especially for running intervals! So cool. Does your Apple Watch use your chest HR monitor data or its own monitor? Is there a way to use the chest HR monitor when tracking your workout on the Apple Watch?
Hi Shervin 🙂 Ultra 2 user here. I am also training for a HM for this November and I am currently using Runna for the planning. I really like how it integrates with the watch and guide you. Do you know it? I could use a in depth review from you, even though I already use it 🙂
On Strava you can hide map visibility by default. I import to Strava too and I’ll share some of my routes after the import but my maps are automatically hidden by default
I’m new user of Apple Watch Ultra and I need a little help please… How can I lock the exercise screen while running? It always go back to the main screen and I lost my tracking… thanks
Great stuff Shervin!! I'm wondering how accurate you find your Ultra is when indoor w/o GPS? My Apple Watch 5 is very very inaccurate. I use it ALL the time during runs and walks with GPS so I don't think the whole "Calibration" thing works. Your thoughts?
I use an Apple watch SE. I find it very accurate with what my treadmill shows as long as I actually run or walk. After having been pretty sick I started running very slowly now and suddenly my watch is off. My guess is that with running very slowly my stride length differs from my usual and that’s where the watch becomes inaccurate.
Am I only one who have "auto pause" ON and feells like cheating myself when I stop on red lights? 😁 Specialy in zone 2 training my HR drop down and and timere stop and than continue with lower HR 😅😅
Ok , I bet 100$ that you will not ditch the garmin on the actual run, Apple Watch is just for you coffee habits and video making but non the less it’s informative
@@ThuderDuck Battery is terrible. I guess you can call it great if you compare it to a regular apple watch. Lacks a lot of data that Garmin has. Only benefits are the useless smart features that my phone that is always in my pocket can also do.
@@ThuderDuck I dont have an apple watch and never run with my phone? I dont understand why you would need an apple watch to run without it. Unless youre trying to call someone during a run or incase of emergency. But i've made a grand total of 0 phone calls on the thousands of runs ive been on. And you got it backwards. The joy of a garmin is all your data is in one place and you don't need 4 different apps to get all the data you're looking for.
