This is awesome! When I was in concrete colleges for 13 straight years I learned to sew and got pretty good at it for 10 of those years. I learned to embroider with a single needle on a singer plastic supposed to be commercial machine. I fell on hard times and living in my truck but cause of your video I will pick myself up somehow and start my clothing line I dreamed about all those years. I been home now for 8 years and 10 months now . Thanks brother for giving me hope back

i think i do have a vid showing this. save your dst file to your thumb drive, plug the thumb drive into the machine, click the drive icon, find your file, then click the machine icon to save it to the machine
i dont know what your needs or plans are but i would hit up Ricoma and let them know what you plan on doing and they'll recommend some options for you. i personally like the single head and thought about a multi head but instead went with more single heads. gives me flexibility to stitch different things all at the same time. but like i said, hit them up and talk to them, they'll lay out some solid options for you

i use paper sided bobbins. i find'em on amazon for pretty cheap. sometimes i order from embroidery supplies sites if im buying thread colors that i cant find on amazon.
this machine fit my needs the best for its intended use. i spoke with a sales rep about what i honestly planned on using the machine for and this machine fit what i was looking for. everybody looks at these machines with big dreams and aspirations but when you narrow down what you really plan on doing with the machine and how you plan to make money with it. it gets easier to pick whats right for you. most people shop based on price first. and alot of people shop based on dreams. you have to be honest with yourself and think about what do you plan on doing with the machine. where is the money gona come in from, what are your actual needs, what makes sense to you and what fits your budget? answer those for your sales rep and you'll pick the machine that is right for you

Stay away from Ricoma… it’s Chinese garbage… Only three brands that REAL INDUSTRIAL & Commercial shops use are: Barudan Tajima ZSK and don’t buy anything from Amazon. There are wholesalers like Madeira USA and hab+dash that have real quality products
my Ricoma machine works perfectly fine. but my tajima gave me a shit load of issues. so your comment doesnt add up for my situation. Everybodys experiences are different.

Is this machine in your opinion the best/one of your recommended machines to get for people wanting to get into shirt and hat embroidery? I understand embroidery machines are expensive (to normal folk) and I don't know if this is by comparison a cheaper one but I'd love to know where I should start to do shirts, hoodies and caps and not have to get one of the big expensive ones. So many models out there and it feels like with this industry there's a lot less info out there.
2 years ago i did some serious research on embroidery machines. out of all the companies i talked too and all the machines i looked at and demo'd. I chose the Ricoma MT1501 based on customer service, training, ease of use and tech support. i didnt know shit about embroidery so i wanted to make sure the company would help me get going and also be available if something went wrong. 2 years later this has been the best business decision i have ever made. hats, shirts, hoodies, blankets, baby bibs, towels of various sizes, shoes and beanies are just some of the things i used this machine to stitch on. if you were thinking about it, i say reach out to ricoma to talk to them. ask them every question and concern you have. i got direct links in my description box or just reach out to them directly on your own.

I found using binder clips when doing the front of a hat caused alot of needle breaks on our 8 head Tajima. Especially right on a thick seam. They work really well for side of hat where you really need to tighten it. But if you need to go up higher on the hat and its obstructed by the clips atleast I found caused issues. We had a 400 piece last week we kept using clips and getting needle breaks. Half way through we decided not to use clips not one break. We have a smaller local shop with a 8 head Tijima 4 Bareuden 4 Ricoma, 1 Tijima and 12 Tijima. Nice for those big piece orders. But certain designs run better on certain machines. Plus there is only two of us running 29 heads so most the time we cant even keep up with hooping to even consider running all heads for one large job so we usually are running different jobs. Just pumping orders out. Very satisfying

i had zero embroidery/sewing experience. they train you on how to use the machine. that was one of my major reasons why i went with Ricoma. they make sure you know how to use the machine. not just sell it to you with a user manual. haha check the ricoma link in the description box for more info

not as noisey as you would think. BUT this machine is really heavy, bringing it up to the 4th floor might be tricky. in my shop, if the door is closed, i cant hear the machine in my office, the embroidery machine is right on the other side of the wall. and the walls in my office are thin.
does great on shirts. havent stitched any jeans but i have done some Carhartt coveralls and jackets. and it stitched with no issues. theres vids of some other people that have this machine stitching on denim jackets.
mannnnnn. i cant even tell you how much money i lost by not getting a machine sooner... i let my own fears and insecurities stop me from gettin that money! but i will say this, watch as many youtube videos of how people use their machine. not just the tutorial vids but how people use it to make money, types of jobs they run. That way you can get a better idea on how you will use it and how you will make money with it. for me, its low quantity hat runs. thats where i make my money at. good luck to you if you decide to get a machine. i wish you nothin but success!

i outsource most of my digitizing. i just google search "digitizing services" then i hit up all the companies that pop up on the first page and see who has good pricing and who has a good turn around time. it all depends on the design also. i dont have any recommendations cuz i use a bunch of companies off of google. i would suggest doing the same. hit up all the companies and see which one fits your budget, meets your needs and you feel comfortable workin with

i use the up and down arrows on the screen. push the image close to the edge and then trace it to see if it clears the hoop band. if it does i let it run.
how long and is it difficult to do one of those "LA" hats behind you? I am thinking about getting a BAi 1501, which is pretty much a copy version of the Ricoma 1501.
Question! I did not find anyone that asked but we live in a 2 bedroom top floor apartment. One of the rooms is my hobby room, that being said how loud is the machine while its in operation? These are new apartments and the walls and ceilings are 19ft tall and I'm sure are insulated decent as I have asked my downstairs neighbor if hes ever heard my heat press (pop open), vinyl cutting machine and was told "Nope". That being said I'm very interested in a ricoma but not sure if now is the time being on the 3rd floor (top) of a complex if this machine is loud. What's your thoughts on the ricomas noise level while its at work?
surprisingly this machine is not as loud as i thought. similar to a sewing machine. But what i will say is, trying to carry this machine up some stairs is CRAZY! hahaha its pretty heavy and awkward to hold. i would look into the EM1010 machine from Ricoma. smaller foot print with 10 needles. might be a good fit for your space and situation. check the link in my bio to read up a little more on the machines they offer.
Thanks man, we moved into a house now and have an extra room so I’d be golden now. I’ve been chatting and doin with a Ricoma rep for 2 days and trying to decide if I should pull the plug for financing. They have a good offer right now but like you said I’m letting the price tag scare me. How long would you say it took you to get the hang of it? That’s what has me jacked. all of my pricing is based off of materials and labor. example: factor in cost of blank hat and how long it takes me to complete the hat. + misc stuff like thread, foam, shipping supplies etc. knowing what you value your time at will help with your pricing. everybodys time is worth something different. know your worth and you'll know what to price
Im really thinking about getting this machine im a pattern designer taught myself on gerber lectra & pad system this look interesting i live by trade tec in LA the have a embroidery machine class im gonna take it to get a fell of using a machine just started following you txs bro
this is a single head machine. meaning one hoop/item at a time. 15 needles means 15 different colors can be stitched on that one item hooped. as for chenille patches. i have no idea, i dont use those and never looked into making those types of patches.
