Honestly, it has been such a cool journey watching you do RU-vid in Highschool, try out college, decide it’s not the thing, watch you try a collab channel, watch you start your vlog channel (my millennial life crisis), watch you really find your groove on YT, watch you hit a rut, watch you find real estate and now you’re thriving. Your channel has really been such a fresh reminder that life is a journey and it’s never going to be perfect and we are always changing. Thanks for being you, Monica!
Not a realtor but I’m a notary signing agent, and my favorite part is dressing up. I get in my car and I’m like “look at me pretending to be all mature” 😂
One word: Confidence. As a complete stranger getting hooked on your Palm Springs renovation videos, I can sense how much calmer and more confident you are (I mean that as a complement not in a rude way I hope that comes across the way it was intended). The peace of mind that comes from diversification of interests, plus the fact that you proved to yourself that life doesn't have you pigeon-holed as a RU-vidr forever is very freeing, I can only imagine. The introvert vs. extrovert conversation is also very interesting. I agree with your assessment that if you keep telling yourself something over and over again in your head, eventually you will become a prisoner to that belief which is a never-ending cycle. I used to think like that until I worked retail and I hated having to engage with customers. But I slowly started noticing that my managers would leave me alone and not ask me to do stuff if I was with a customer. So little by little I just started getting into random conversations with customers and that built my confidence up which made it much easier to keep a conversation going until I genuinely started becoming more interested in other people's lives rather than work lol. Either way I was escaping "work", so it was a win/win. All the best!

No hate whatsoever, I just find it interesting when you say that people don’t need to focus on views, clicks, etc., but most often those people are doing what it takes on social media to make more money. It’s those people who are trying to become financially stable and grow their income and wealth, and to no longer be broke. Most of us no longer want to work 9-5 with little income per hour, we don’t want to struggle to survive, and live to work but instead live to live well and happily. You’re very financially comfortable and well off that sure you don’t have to focus on those things but for others it’s a different story.
The only reason I don't have to focus on views, clicks, etc. is because I now have a different income source. Otherwise YES you are spot on with the stress that comes with that. Completely right, you need that to make money and survive, I hated that because you don't have control over how many views you'll get. Now it feels like such a privilege I can worry about those things right. But yes, you are right! Totally understand this comment!

You're right about the muscle of socializing, I have been to going to this event skip the small talk it's kind of speed friending, you ask strangers deep questions and it fun you can totally mess up but you'll never see that person again. I use it as practice and feel a lot better about socializing. Your life definitely got a glow up! you are glowing!

is it hard to get clients? i get a lot of (annoying imo) realtors that bombard me with calls after i say im interested in a project, other than getting connections through youtube, how do you get clients? do you have to be like a very "sell-y sell-y" person to do well?
I think you are totally right about extroversion being a muscle! When I was in medical school, I spent a great majority of time studying and always felt like I had to try so hard to keep up with conversations, but as soon as I entered residency, where I spent all day talking to patients, it became so much easier to be social in casual/non-work environments as well
Introversion/Extroversion are not the same as being socially awkward or not. It is a basic component of one's personality. You can become more confident and outgoing, but it doesn't change your core personality.
Aren´t you afraid that the novelty will wear off soon and that a showing becomes just another showing/deal/client etc.? Or are there still enough things to learn to keep it interesting for a long time?
From what Monica has said, she seems to be motivated by meeting the people, getting to know them, and finding a property that meets their needs. Considering that those things will continually change, there will always something new for her. (Just my take.)
I think you make a very fair point with your first question. To me this seems like a fun detour for someone who’s been doing the same thing for pretty much their entire adult/teenage life, but given that she said herself that the money earned is through significantly more work, the novelty will eventually wear off.
95% saving is impressive. Great job. I also became more frugal since I learned about real estate. It helped me to think long term, know the numbers and think about affordability, investing as opposed to spending. Also real estate is a great business in that most people in this job are cool, funny, knowledgeable and creative.

To be honest. The video that make me a fan was the one of the restoration of an old house. I think you f Should go along that line. There are so many people renovating houses or airstreams is so satisfying to see how something old is being restore to something new.

I’d like a video showing what a realtor actually does. I’ve sold 2 properties (& sold quickly) & honestly hate that I paid someone who took a 3 week course thousands of dollars. They had spelling mistakes on paperwork & obviously used form letters (& didn’t review/alter them). The lawyers do all the important work. So please show me. Thx

I also got my real estate license here in Seattle (Kirkland to be more specific), but I still can not quit my 9-5 job because I just started there and it’s a great company to work for. And by now, since I’m a solo agent I am not having a lot of deals or clients :( I hope soon I can get that real estate life sparkle that you got! And I’m very happy to see you are happy now :)
Glad you mentioned people who just stunt themselves saying I’m not social I’m awkward because that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy great friendships that come your way
So, perhaps, the overarching millennial crisis is the challenges millennials face inserting themselves into capitalism, including finding their identity within capitalism. Housing is a great example of how this capitalism crisis affects millennials differently.

I started working on my license at the same time as you but had a lot of obstacles along the way and now I finally have my license and I’m working for Coldwell Banker I just started but I have a vision and your videos model so much ideas for me and inspire me!
