These are the human beings we should be admiring and looking up to not the ones looking to collect a $$$ she does what she does bc she is human and values life!! Not just her own everyone's!!
I wouldn’t know about them if it wasn’t for the movie, how come this story’s do not make the news! Wonderful movie! Wonderful history! Your father must be very proud ! We need more of this movies to bring awareness about the dilemma of the refugees
It did make the news back in 2016 in Europe at least. Not front page probably but was around. Although it wouldn't have been if it weren't for her sister making the Olympic team as there are so many with stories like them sadly in terms of the refugee experience and leaving previously incredible and respected lives behind to risk everything to find safety. There are so many with incredible stories and very sadly not that rare. I dont think it's possible to get your head around the magnitude of people, just like all of us, that used to have lives like us before their worlds collapsed. The number of people with big and full stories... Totally agree though!
Unbelievably I find this person because of american news. And I only looked at the story because I saw a pretty face. To think of how we just sit around sipping coffee while these things are happening to people in the world.
Watched the movie yesterday and it had me being in tears most of the time. Knowing that it's the reality for many people every day is hard and makes me appreciate my life and how privileged I am. From growing up in a country without war, not needing to flee, being allowed to love whom I want and live and work where I want. I am so touched by Sarah's story and I think the Issa sisters portrayed them really well. Nice to know that that the actresses are actual sisters in real life as well.
I love this lady so much! Met her and her sister, they are beauties as well as they are smart, brave, superheroes...really, this story makes you cry a lot and after that, makes you stronger!
Here after watching the Netflix movie! The movie was amazing but this interview is so inspirational, better than all the motivational videos that we watch everyday hoping to learn a thing or two and feel better! Hats off to both these brave sisters!!
She's a beautiful human being. Dedicating her energy to helping others and vowing to keep doing it, even after all the legal issues she has faced. Individuals like her should be admired in our society. Doing the decent thing in a time that decency seems to be disappearing. I saw the Mardini sister's story on the news a long time ago, but it wasn't until the movie on Netflix came out that I got to see how remarkable their journey was. And it happens for thousands everyday. So glad that they dropped the charges against her and the other aid workers. They were ridiculous charges to begin with, but I hope they won't get re-charged in the future. We need more people like her out there doing the right thing to help people simply seeking better lives!
It was a great movie "swimmers" but the interview is epic . Salute to the mardini sisters and all syrians who are suffering . We are there for you always
So glad to see her story rising to the surface with this video and the Swimmers movie. These stories must be told and shared widely. We are all human and must help each other ❤
I just watched Netflix moviesThe Swimmers based on Yusra autography "Butterfly". I watched with my 12 year old son, we liked it very much, very admirable couragous girls Sarah and Yusra. Hugs to all Syrian people who are suffering.
Sarah is a great human being ❤ was lucky to dance with her one day in berlin...mesmerizing energy she has! take care habibti and shine on. May all people be liberated and free to move safely - wherever whenever! 🙏🏾💜✨
I just saw this movie. O my God what a beautiful movie. I cried😢 thank you for everything what you all did. You are heros. I feel sory 4 what They did for you put jou in jail 😢 you absolutely did not derserve jail. God is with you❤
Truly inspirational. We need more awareness around this subject, and I challenge people here in the UK when they complain about immigration (I tell them, how would they feel if they lost all their family etc), and have done for a long time, and as an English person will full English family I'm tired at how closed minded the general public in the UK are, it's sad and embarrasing, and highlights that a reform is needed within the educational and awareness aspect....not to mention how driven someone has to be to undertake such a feat, so many people would not even attempt this. Unfortunately most of the world has become obsessed with entitlement and capitalism, and loosing touch with the human element.... Which ultimately we are social animals. I feel the film will help with this, and myself and partner will continue to speed awareness.
I let my grandchildren to watch the money they are 8 years old , I want them to get inspired by those girls they were fighting to save themselves, Sara is a hero , god bless them . For the first time thank you Netflix you succeed to make this inspired movie
ive just watch the movie i love sara as being a sister and a daughter shes been very soul driven i just hope many will be urge to help for the refugees because sara was right after all they dont take your jobs they just need safety ❤❤
I remember reading the story in a Readers Digest and it stayed with me ever since. I finally watched the film, have downloaded the book and want to see the Doc.
This is how true women empowerment sounds like. Not just some spoiled brat you hear doing podcasts or interviews in all social media platform. Kudos to this very brave woman 👏👏👏👏👏
"Woke" in the good meaning of the word: striving for a better world and not afraid of holding other pple accountable for their actions , knowing and acknowledging that we ourselves arent perfect either.
I am purchasing this book tomorrow with another book that I wanted quite a while, I'm sure the book will be amazing. Thank you for being inspirational, I'm more appreciative than before because of "The swimmers" film. I will do all the suggestion, good luck with your studies.
This makes me absolutely fuming angry with the people that locked her (and possibly others in a similar situation) up in prison and charged her with all those ridiculous claims... what is _wrong_ with these people? It's not a rhetorical question, I'm genuinely wondering how anyone with any sort of heart or humanity could do this. The interview was incredibly impressive and what a brave and goodhearted person she is. I am absolutely in awe of her.
No one leaves their home country because they want to, but because they have to, if they want to live a better life that sadly their home countries cant provide. Survival makes you leave your childhood memories, school years memories, your family, your friends and your life as you have known it to go start new somewhere else... it isn't easy, and some people dont even KNOW HOW privileged they are, that they dont have to leave their home countries because they have to...
You should know that we proud of sara and her sister as a human and because she's my homies too ; and you should know that there is a lot of people here in Syria have a dreams and they need to achieve it ; we love a life
Inspiring women ,,i was touched how it is sad to criminalise a Person who is helping others (who are the most in need ) and the streets full of criminals, drug dealers walking free. Strange world.
Can the petition with International Amnesty be signed if you don’t live in Australia? I tried and it didn’t allow me to submit without choosing an Australian state.
I can't find the petition. I went on amenstry internation and entered Syria and prisoners of conscience and other things, does anyone have direct link to sign petition??
She is a shining example for all women. Risking her life to help and save lives. Not just whining about how difficult her life was at the palace and indulging in self pity....whist jetting around on a private plane with her bodyguards.
Thanks to all Europeans who help the refugees and thanks to Turkey who welcomed and opened door to all these 7 million Syrian brothers and sisters millions of Syrians find a warm home in turkey which wasn't easy for everyone but we all went through this tuffs time Also we all witnessed what the European Union did, for example, I saw many videos how greek coastguards trying to inflate the refugee's boots in the open water and kicking them to the water or left them to death many of them died many saved from Turkish Coastguards or Turkish Fisherman's we all saw and witnessed there is always few bad eggs in the basket I always dream about we all get together to help each other as a human beings I am asking you all when you can do so much but you chose not to how can you go home and tell your kids I love you, or your loved ones! I want to make these clear for all of us we are far away from being human if we can't help each other Now go tell someone I love you if you can. Selam Aleykum. Special thanks to RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN بركة الله فيك THANK YOU REIS MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES AND ALL THE GOOD PEOPLE IN THE WORLD BAKARA ALLAHU FIK بركة الله فيك
Yes. That's right. Recep Tayyip Erdogan should also be given the Nobel Prize for mediating between Ukraine and Russia, serving peace, grain agreement, etc.
