How I went from 3.0 to 4.0 by spamming WALL DRILLS | Beginner to Advanced Difficulty

When I first started pickleball, I was absolutely obsessed with getting better as fast as possible. I didn't have any drilling partners back then, so I ended up spamming wall drills and at home paddle drills. I was able to go from 3.0 to 4.0 relatively quickly by doing for about 10-15 minutes every day.

I’m between 3.5 and 4.0, I drew a line in my garage wall where the net is and practiced these drills for the last two days. I played today and found my drop % increased dramatically and my dinks seem way softer. Thanks! Will be keeping up the practice.

This is great! So helpful. Your videos are the first of many that I can follow and understand. You’re never condescending, always encouraging. I love the slow motion- it’s so helpful. Keep it up !!

Ed, this is a great video. It is so well thought out and presented. I'm a 4.2 level player and am trying to find ways to improve my skills including adding wall drills to my routine. I've discovered it really reveals quickly where you have gaps. I've watched quite a few wall drill videos and yours covers many things I haven't seen in others. The overlay was a great idea. I love your teacher/student format with Jaume and now with this one. You have such great chemistry with Maggie and her responses are so genuine. More videos with Maggie please! She has such a sweet personality and it would be great to see her growth as a player/student.

5:48 - Beginner/Advanced Players: Slow Motion/Overlay The split screen slow motion replay clearly depicts the technical differences between beginning and advanced volley technique. While the beginner shifts more dramatically from side to side, the advanced player remains extremely compact, economical in movement. His sole focus lives on meeting the ball solidly in the center of the paddle face. This simplified, efficient stroke results from thousands of correct repetitions. By keeping the head still and body quiet, the ball consistently hits the same spot - eliminating variables like paddle angle, bounce trajectory and power. Begin rehearsing this pared down, accurate movement. In time, channeling all intention into clean ball-paddle connection will become second nature.

Loved you teaching. My favorite part about it is when you do it, you are so good at it, it makes it unrealistic for beginners. Watching her gives us all hope that practicing enough we can go from beginner level (her) to you.

Nice video. I'm an older woman beginner & have no partner & want to practice against a wall, so this was very helpful, especially to see teaching a lower level wife player.

Ed, thank you for the video! After watching it, I subscribed and ordered the Dink Master. Waiting until it arrives. Last summer, I was hitting against a wall quite a bit, and it was tremendously helpful, now I want to be able to do it year round in my garage. Thank you again for the demo!

Love this format! This video is very similar to your Wall Drills 101 with added comments and a student (your wife!). I started following your wall drills 101 and plan on continuing. Eager to see your wife’s progress; also eager to make progress too 😊.

Thanks for the video! Told my beginner friend if she didn’t have someone to drill with that I’d show her how to use a wall on her spare time. Glad I’m able to send this to her!

How does everyone determine their rating, my only problems are consistent power serving, erne, ATP, rapid fire at the kitchen line and defending the slam but I'm assuming that's not a thing other than recognizing it's about to happen and getting back. I've Played many sport. Have great footwork/court positioning and can score with strategy. What would a player like this☝️ rating be
