I personally think Ike is responsible for turning bass fishing into the SPORT....THE EXCITEMENT and ENTHUSIASM appeals to alllll ages, made bass fishing "cool".
Thank you for taking the time to give back to all of your fans.....the techniques you used to win and be successful. We all learn, because you took the time to embrace and share this information. Bern from Deptford
Great informational video; you proved that anglers that fish braided line exclusively are often using line that reduces bites in many cases. I believe line diameter is as important as breaking weight. Not to say braided line does not have advantages for certain applications but not for everything. Braid slows reel retrieval speed, requires using softer action rods and reducing the amount of drag you use on reels. It often tears large holes in a hooked fish’s mouth because it has no stretch. It is less resistant to abrasion because of its small diameter when compare to the same line weight of fluorocarbon. So, to use it in most cases you have to add leaders and another knot that adds another chance it could fail. Most anglers have no understanding of the complications braided lines adds to using it properly. Few Pro Anglers take time to explain how they use fishing techniques as well as you do. Thank you for the excellent fishing tips. I am not a big fan of braided line, but use it when it is worth the advantage.
Congrats! You definitely know your tidal fisheries as time has told👍!I believe there's something about black and blue under certain situations!I've seen a black and blue plastic worm spank a red shad plastic worm(what I was throwing),A black and blue arkie type spider jig seriously outperform a red shad arkie spider jig type bait(what I was throwing),I've also witnessed a blue colored (see through type)swimbait severely outperform a shad colored swimbait(Berkeley)on Dale Hollow a few times..Wondering if under certain lighting conditions that a bluish colored swimbait may look more realistic to a fish than a pearl white swimbait?
Black and blue is a must have here in South Jersey! Not sure why, but just works! I fish alotta creeks that connect to the Delaware river and black and blue chatterbaits, swimbaits and worms seem to catch more than any of the other colors on most days...
Congratulations Ike good information. Been a big fan for years now always love your enthusiasm. Ever since I saw you on a Bass Masters catch a fish and start breakdancing on the front of the boat .LMAO😂 and another good one is when you broke the fish off and you caught the line midair as you were jumping off the boat and still maintain contact with the boat will never forget that!!!!
Great job ike I like how you are so open to help us fishermen and fisher women to help us to catch more fish thank you mike your the man you deserve to win
I wanna see you and 1Rod link up again.. it’s nice seeing you two together because you were the first angler that made me want to be a better angler and focus more on fishing. He was the first youtuber that did the same. Plus you both live close by me lol
Great video Mike! I caught my PB smallie on the James this past year(22'). 22+ in just under 4lb. A little south form where it sounds you may have been. But, I'm just a guy bank and wade fishing at the moment! Again, great video. Congrats on that win,I do remember when that happened. Was nice to see a tournament on the James again.
Dont know how I missed this video Ike. This is perfect especially fishing the Dirty Delaware with our tidal water. Speaking of ( OLD SCHOOL) do you remember the old bagley's lure called the (SMOO) figure you and I are only a few years apart in age, but were fishing the same time as a young teen. The top was dark green then light chartreuse then orange then I believe the bottom yellow Crankbait. What a great lure in clear waters. Love the videos Ike keep them coming
Winning by getting special permission from the tournament director to fish previously off limits waters is cheating. It wasn't made publicly known for others who may have wanted to fish in there. Fishing in private waters is and should be grounds for disqualification. Look up Kings Law for the area you cheated in. Flipping over steel walls into private waters has been illegal in previous tournaments as directed by the same tournament director that gave you special permission. Favoritism at its finest. The guys that watched you and the guy as your co-angler wouldn't come forward. Shame on you.
richmond native; love how u represent the niche of city boys that love to fish. 804 fishing is very underrated. Hope u can cast here again sometime soon brother.
Congrats Brother I am a tidal water bass fisherman lakes puzzle the hell out of me, but on tidal water I catch lots of bass all day long Black and Blue is an absolute must have for tidal water. I also like browns and dark green baits
Glad you won it man, I was pulling for you. It's my home water, been fishing the James and chick since I was 5 years old. Those colors are Staples here. Congratulations on your win brother. 🤙
Way to go IKE! Congratulations. I hope this means we will see you in the Classic? Question, if this tournament had been MLF format, would your "trout stream pattern" won the tournament? Not looking for controversy, just wondering if you would have had a different game plan. Thanks Mike.
Hey Mike!! I asked u for the tidal info and you did a great job!! Thank you so much. I moved from Ohio to Florida to the St. John’s river. Do u have any advice for that? Any info will b appreciated!! Thanks so much
Ike, My boater friends at that tournament was hoping I would get paired with you. They say nothing but good about you and how you treat your coanglers. Maybe on Oneida. Got my fingers crossed. You share this info on how you won like no other, and without reservations. You my friend are an ambassador to the sport. Thank you for helping me understand tidal water and where I failed on the James. Makes sense now. At 57 yrs old, this was my first tidal fishing.
Congrats, thanks for the conversation at the landing when you came out, Ike really spent quality time talking about his day, even though the sun was blazing and he was probably really tired......appreciate that and he is really a class act ! Thanks Ike
I challenge you Ike come down to Arkansas no fancy fishfinder or grassline markers no underwater divers showing you big fishbeds nun a that just your tackle box a rod n reel and what ya mama gave you
Ike congrats bro that's a tough place to fish you really are a great tidal water fisherman you grew up fishing that style and you can see how it helps you dial a pattern there so quickly
@@colbypowitherow5505 Really? He mentions the baits he used and how fantastic they are compared to other brands... yet they are not different from other brands... they are all baits that he is sponsored by also
