Matt I’m 65 years old and I’ve caught a 11lb4oz and a 15lb2oz in my years of fishing and I’m still learning things from you guys! Have not caught a good fish in about 10 years but I still remember the filling of a true monster hook up!, y’all keep this old man trying to do it again, and I get my motivation from you and your brother! Keep it up! The OLD Man GOD Bless!!! And don’t forget to spend the days off with your family time
If you bass fish you HAVE to watch these videos. By far the best instructional videos out there. The only better teacher is actual time on the water. The absolute best!!!
I have studied bass behavior my whole life and read many books. You are BY FAR the best teacher I have ever seen. My 10 year old son listened to your video on the June full moon. He caught an 8 pounder on Father's Day after dark! You need to write a book!
Matt you are an actual god! I think it’s amazing how you can do a whole 20 min video without making one cut to it. And the whole time you’re enthusiastic and straight to the point about everything! To me it seems like you were put on this world to share yer knowledge. I’m so thankful that I have people like you to teach me about bass fishing, that’s one good thing I feel about technology is you can get 10, 20, 30 years of knowledge all in one RU-vid video! Thank you so much again Matt, yer honestly my idol!🐟
You are such a well spoken, articulate, educated man. You have a gift and I personally want to say "thank you" for sharing your knowledge and dedicating your life to teaching the world how to fish. Keep up the great work.
Matt I’m 74 yrs young fished these hawgs for 40+ years in Ca. And Tn. Ms. and Kentucky and have talked to all the good local pros and I have never been treated to the real information the way you do it. Keep up the good work and I’ll keep catching more fish every trip I take in my kayak.
Hey guys, Just had my best fishing trip ever because of all the things I learned from you both. Thank you so much. Awesome job Matt on this and once again I will say thank you for all your dedication to teaching people what you love.
You need your own television network show! You’re a phenomenal teacher and break things down very succinctly without rambling or going off on a random tangent. Clear, concise, and to the point. Well done! You have a new subscriber in me.
I'm new to bass fishing. bought my first boat back in june. (1993 bass cat Pantera II) . I've had hit and miss days out on the water, but mostly miss days. I've found a body of water that hold some monster bass for our area (5-6 lbs). This video was awesome. It showed me stuff that i never thought of trying. Thanks for the awesome video!
Ive probably watched over 100 videos on summer fishing and best baits to use...this one is, in my opinion, is by far, the most informative on both topics. its thorough but simple enough to easy take in the info and adaptable to any type of location. good damn job!
Somebody finally threw in a Senko I love it literally just subscribed been watching you for a while but dude nobody teaches like you do in the way we fisherman need to learn
If not THE best! The clarity of his explanations and ability to go in depth combined with the passion behind everything he says. He keeps momentum behind everything. I realize I sound incredibly gay here.
I'm happy I'm part of the Tactical family. These videos are so instructional and informative. It is a great feeling to put these techniques to use and put fish in the boat! Thanks guys!
Matt, another great video. You and Tim produce the absolute best quality fishing instruction on RU-vid, and frankly in general. Not only is it the knowledge you provide, it's inspiration as well. Natural born teacher. I, like many others I am sure, appreciate the time and effort you guys put in to provide the content that you do. Thank you!
You guys have taught me so much on where and how to catch bass. In past years I would put my gear away usually in November and wouldn't touch them again until spring. I caught some of my biggest fish this last winter when I normally wouldn't even be fishing and I'd like to say thank you! You have 10 fold made me a better angler and I love it.
By far and away the best bar none ! And I have watched them all, the rest are a clown show . Thank you for all your efforts to teach and share!,,,god bless .regaurds new haven ct
The tactical family is Killin it! Through your families advise so many different door's opened up for me trying new things that are not seen much at all around here.. thank you tactical family for the awesome videos and advise, the way you guy's break things down and teach can't be compared to any other I've seen!
can you guys do a video where you graph the offshore or deep water bass, explain how you setup position to catch them, and why choose the bait you choose?
Well, if you had any common sense you would figure it out for yourself. Trial and error is key in life. Videos are helpful, but if you didn't learn enough from this video, just stop fishing. Use what YOU trust, and be confident in it. You'll catch em.
@@fuhhkuuu3207 hey twat, I wasnt asking you, and I'm probably better at fishing than you too. Get a life virgin, no need running through comments that dont concern you on RU-vid videos just to flame.
The name says it all, clearly your dealing with a straight lame or maybe just a child For real dude, get a life. I can’t believe I just read what I did with your response. Fuckin loser
THANK YOU FOR THE TON OF INFORMATION. jUST FROM THIS VIDEO I NOW KNOW HOW FISH THINK AND REACT. I WILL TAKE YOUR ADVICE, LIKE I ALWAYS DO AND TRY THE DIFFERENT BAITS TO SEE THE RESULTS.
You guys are always awesome! I’m I. The military so I’m always moving to different parts of the country and always have to learn how that area fishes and y’all help me out every time I move! Thanks again
Man! You guys are amazing! Educational, easy to understand, passionate and 100% honest. The description of baits and gear are second to none. Much of what I buy via Tacklewarehouse is not via your hyperlink as it seems like I have to login separately but Tacklewarehouse should know that much of What I Buy is because of you two. I have a bunch of their $5 T-Shirts to prove it. Thank you again.
My 9 year old asked me if I knew all this already. I said most of it. Well why are you watching it then. Lol I said if you want to be great at something you gotta eat sleep and breath it son. He said "Dad your weird" haha I can't get enough! Thanks.
Dude a Shakyhead set up has been THE go-to for me in the hot months. I just can't justify putting it down when I am catching fish. Nice video Matt. Thanks for all you do.
Everything you said in this video... summed up my trip to HH in a heat wave... 105 temps.... caught about eight 2 lbers in 3 hours working the shadow lines from over head cover... then the moster showed up... so big it shattered my gear on the breech. Reeel handle snapped in half :(. Great video... Summer confidence is back!
Your videos give me hope. I go out day after day, after day... trying any spot I have access to near me (Modesto, CA). Places are either over fished, or I am just not experienced enough to get their attention. I'm hoping one day I wont get skunked.
Man, that full moon phase video was crazy. I went fishing on the last night of the full moon and I swear there were at least 30 boats out there. They all must have seen your videos because Ive never seen this before, fishing that lake for over 20 years. lol.
We live near the Benicia bridge, and headed up to Clear Lake a couple weeks ago. We got our arses HANDED to us bc we didn’t know any of this. Brand new to the channel. Subscribed. 👊🙌
Here’s a challenge. Come to Lake Grapevine in Grapevine TX. There is no cover, no vegetation, and hardly any docks. There are mostly rocky shoreline which provide cover for fish, however the rock have deep crevices where it is almost impossible to throw a lure. There is no grass in or around this lake whatsoever. You would be lucky to catch one fish in a week.
Thanks for your time and help. I felt like giving up and I watch you and I feel energized and ready to try again. My pb isn't but four pounds but it is because I haven't always went for bass. I was usually fish n cats pb for them was 27. I want to catch a nice pb. I have been catching the two pounders. Try to find the HOGZILLA... Thanks Matt
So first of all thank you for the information. Very well done. I've saved it so I can review it. Second, I would love to see you do the same survey in Canada keeping in mind our local fishing guidelines and rules. For example, we can't openly fish bass until the third Saturday in June. That means we could miss that full moon in June. We cannot fish during the spawn which is mid June typically. (Although the climate change seems to be changing that. I'd love to discuss this more in-depth with you if you have a chance. Thanks again!
Matt, Great job as always! Things have really changed since you were last on Pickwick a few weeks ago. The grass has blown up! I've just about abandoned the ledges because I've not found anything out there in a while. I've been catching good fish shallow in the early morning along rock walls and steep banks, and while graphing some ledges later in the day, I stumbled across some thick grass on humps. I found it because I heard and saw fish tearing up the surface a few yards from where I was graphing. When I idled over to the disturbance, I found myself mired in hydrilla thick enough to stop the boat. Bait was everywhere! The water comes up on either side of these humps from 30' and the grass starts around 10-12'. There are a couple of deep lanes around the high spots. I wasn't marking any fish in the deep areas, so I assumed they were all up under the mats. The grass is topped out in a few places, and its still growing. I've fished the edges with swim jigs, ripped swim jigs through the stuff, fished a frog over the top, punched it with a heavy weighted creature, ran a weightless fluke all over the place. Only had a few blow ups and just a couple hook-ups. I'm losing the paddle tails off my trailers, so I figure the gar are snatching them off. When the fish are blowing up on the wads of bait, it looks like schools of bass as the frenzy is over a space of a few yards and constant for several seconds, then it will quiet down and blow up somewhere else. Is it too early to expect to find bigger bass leaving the deep water ledges in favor of the matted grass? Water temps are still in the 90's. Will fishing pressure drive them off the ledges into thicker cover? I don't see too many other boats messing with the grassy areas. Am I onto something, or wasting my time?
Great! Now I have my Monday morning fix! LOL now if this video doesn’t get you fired up to get out in the heat of summer, I do not know what does. Another great video Matt!
Matt, this is one of your best videos. The information and detail is just what I need to stay successful this summer. I appreciate the time you put into making these videos and the knowledge and skill you’re sharing bro. Keep coming and tight lines!
Matt and Tim. First off, I'd like to say I really enjoy watching your videos. They have taught me a lot and allow me to be more confident on the water. 2nd, lately it seems literally every tournament I've had the past month has been light storm to complete down pour. I would love to see some tips on what approach you guys take in these conditions. I've lost confidence over these weeks as the weather conditions have really slowed my fishing down. Thanks!
I just found as I'm starting to really get into fishing more than just a few times every other week. You guys need more subscribers! So much information I had to take notes lol. It's nice being able to come to your channel when I have questions and find a video and I know it's gunna have some awesome information.
Yesterday I lost a monster fish on a Chatterbait that the fish hit on the fall, I'm not sure the depth of where it was, but I believe you when you're talking about how fish stick to shallow or deeper, I believe it was around 14-10 feet. Im gonna go back and keep trying!
Dude you're awesome. New to fishing. I followed your tips & I caought my fist bass. I've struggled to catch anything and bam after watching your video and applying your knowledge.
Your right summer can be great fishing. It's my favorite time of the year because you can pick your poison, shallow or deep and catch em on so many baits and techniques
Very thorough, really liked it, so much great information, thanks Matt! Your were at Pickwick lake in Tennessee not long ago, I live there, next time put a schedule on your channel ahead of time so we could meet you!
Love your guys videos I've taken a lot of what I've learned from y'all and applied it to what I already do, was able to catch two PBs in one day, one small mouth and believe it or not a walleye. Lots of tactics for bass work well for walleye also.
this was very informative! I am a occasional fishermen, so i only go out when i can cause renting boats where i live is expensive, but this video is really helpful since i am going out to fish next week since i have time. Keep up the great videos because I'm definitely putting this information to work when i go fish!
Bro I’m surprised you guys don’t have as many subs as some of the googans. Obviously you play different roles in the RU-vid fishing community but most of the people who watch their videos, need to see your videos and learn more about bass fishing.
Awesome video Matt, thanks for sharing all the knowledge you're verifying and learning all around the country. Would love to see a future video specifically about the new info, techniques, and baits you've acquired on the road and are bringing home to put to use. Thanks again!
Thanks Matt for the great instructions but I have to keep going back in time and re-watching. Here in North Central Illinois I caught 4 bass yesterday, 3 of which had not spawned yet! Your web site makes that an easy. Thanks for that.
Matt, what you just said is so true. I got 10th place fishing grass that was close to deep water. I was slow rolling your jig head paired with a 3.3 keitech shad pattern swimbait. Let just say I ran out of swimbaits.
Ever hear of "ledge busters?" They made them for lake eufala in the summer. Lots of guys trolled them down drop offs and over deep cover. Trolling wasn't fishing to me, still isn't, but to each their own. They were a simple single willow blade spinner bait, but 3 times the size and 5 times the weight.
