I grew up learning the piano, and didn’t teach myself guitar until I was an adult. I’ve always felt that my best writing was not with a guitar, but rather stuff I would play on the midi keyboard and then translate to guitar. So thank you for authenticating this way of writing.
Thanks for doing some low n heavy riffs on the Djaa Maasta, always a pleasure and dig your compositions. To those reading, a free trial has been added so check it out 👍
Excellent idea. Ive been using MIDI to program morse code riffs and then learning them on the guitar.........but using it as a riff writer never occurred to me. Thanks brother!!!!
Oh man, you just brought back a memory of when I was first trying to write parts for the 2nd guitarist in my first band. I used to write everything into PowerTab and honestly I would use the tab/MIDI itself as a writing tool rather than my guitar and then worry about how to actually play it afterwards. Wrote some sick parts that way! I should get back to doing that. Sweet vid, man!
I do that all the time. But the hard part is learning it back on the guitar. Any tips on that? Do you just watch the virtual instrument GUI to visually learn it back?
