I picked up my XE this past Saturday and haven’t stopped riding it!!! I commute 70 miles round trip each day and after a 10 hour shift...I get home and I’m jazzed! The heated grips and cruise control are amazing in the morning...30F. The torque and assist clutch make traffic a piece of cake on the ride home. I absolutely love it!
The torque assist clutch has nearly zero “tension” on it, which to the rider...means no fatigue. It feels different at first from traditional clutches where the friction zone can sometimes be an On/Off sensation. With the assist, the clutch lever is smooth and without much force needed to pull.
The wet weight I can get for you next week at work...we have a full size truck scale. As for ground clearance, with my seated on the bike...I’ll get that for you today once I get home from riding
That’s wonderful to read from a real consumer. Are you still enjoying it now in the summertime? Dumb question I know. Good pick sir. I’m still riding the old triumph scrambler and someday hope to save enough to get this. My current dream bike. Ride safe!
Hey sir, I’m here in the US. Aside from hitting the throttle in first gear to pop a wheelie, how do you or anyone else pop it on the 1200 XE so effortlessly? Thanks everyone
Personally I would love this motor. Personally I hate high reving engines. Probably why I own a Diesel truck too, so this sounds right up my alley. Cant wait to test drive it.
Hey bud, for covering a medium distance to some trails, say 100k of highway to then some not too technical gravel roads, your thoughts on choice between this bike and a Tiger 800 XCA? Cheers, enjoyed the video
So you're giving it a "thumbs up" on the road? Going from a BMW to the Scrambler, was a bit concerned, was hoping to test drive at Daytona Bike Week, but Triumph didn't show up for some reason. So, pretty smooth @ 70-75 mph? I'll put a small fairing (number plate size) on the front for a little more wind resistance.
I have just bought a 1200 XE showcase, which is a model loaded with extras from the factory, its bloody awesome. Cool video by the way. What gear did you pull the wheelie in dude?
How would this go versus a speed triple on those roads? Since they are 150hp to 90hp, obviously they will be slower, but with the same torque (maybe better with the flat curve) an average rider like me might keep up? That is, assuming I pick the wrong gear, or are too lazy to change gears, (well too much into my own thing to take it out of the range that sounds good), I'd still have power coming out of the corner. Would I be miles behind an equally average rider on a triple? They will slow down on the straights anyway. I have a speedmaster and I certainly can't keep up with the triples, but I do alright against bonnies with the higher hp, lower torque crank, as I tend to have power at hand more often.
RidingWithTom Haha man you should see the conditions I take my Multistrada out in.. been riding all winter. No way I could do that without a proper windscreen :) It’s a different bike I guess, fair enough!
@@RidingWithTom Yeah, I don't get this weird modern obsession with windscreens and fairing whenever a naked is reviewed. Che Guevara ride the length of south America with neither in the 50s. People need to man up.
BeastBlack270 Sure is😎👍🏼 Spectacular views especially on a clear summer or autumn day. Unfortunately the police state here in Victoria has cut the sped limit down to only 80kph, making it a bit ....😴 But still a nice view
I tried the XC a few weeks ago and it definitely does 90 mph, although I didn't max it out so I don't know the top speed. According to specs it should do 177 km/h ~ 110 mph
@@sharifela7993 I actually bought the XE, a very nice bike and I am satisfied. Though it is slightly high for me so a XC would probably be a slightly better fit height wise. However I bought the demo-bike at my closest dealer in the autumn 2019 and the deal for this XE demo was so much better than buying a spanking new XC so I couldn't resist. Both the XE and the XC are mighty fine bikes so which one you prefer comes down to your length vs the bike height and your wallet.
The bike rags will comment as favourably as Triumph's advertising budget is deep, as usual. Bike rags are totally full of shit. Look how they creamed themselves over the Kawasaki Z900...best thing since sliced bread...who bought it?
@@albymangled T ad budget isn't very deep, or stupid, like HD buying full page spreads for the Livewire...$30,000, goes 100 miles and takes all night to charge. RIP HD.
@@wradford1 Yes, because the press is very objective and truthful these days... if you have the deep pockets to pay for it. One individual OWNS Triumph, John Bloor. Unlike the mega companies like HD, BMW, Yamaha etc. I picked up my XE yesterday. Only one review matters to me I guess...mine....and it's a 10 in my book.
@@markjacobs6294 How many other scramblers from different manufacturers have ridden ? And what did they score ? It would take me at least 1000 miles of riding before I could give an accurate score rating to a bike. Mind you these days they're all pretty darn good, but some do curtain things better than the others or are better bang for buck.
