Ugh! You’ve got Bermuda grass. I do too! Hate that stuff. My tip to you, cardboard the garden with overlapping edges and then mulch - don’t use your grass clippings if you’ve got Bermuda in it because those pesky rhizomes will replant in your garden. If you mulch on top of Bermuda grass, it will regrow and thank you for the mulch! Lol! I also line my garden parameter with thick, black plastic to stop the grasses from creeping in and then I mulch the plastic with wood chips to hide it. Works great! Hope this helps ✌️

I'd be laying the cardboard over the weeds as well That will knock off the weeds eventually. The Ruth Stout Method, aside from the weed annoyance, is a very successful way of growing carrots. I am going to try it. Walking is one of the best exercises.

Last year I stored carrots for about 6 weeks in a insulated cooler with happy results.When your do store your carrots I am open to other ideas.

Do you not get problems with Carrot Fly as your carrots are not covered with insect netting?

Is that how you deter them?? I thought they hatched from the soil as I never actually see flies, but little worms🤢

Would love to know how you winter store your carrots. I have a mouse problem. Not quiet enough gerak cats. My one inside cat is over 25 years old and has retired.
