@@B-ot2xxNope, with the amount of Spider-Man fans I’ve seen whining and throwing tantrums about BG3 winning, y’all are definitely the most toxic. Don’t get me wrong Spider-Man 2 was great, but baldur’s gate 3 is literally a game that’s redefined standards and should be the model for the amount of effort studios should put into their games. People brag on the game because it’s deserved.
For real though, I think it's very disrespectful of Geoff and the people running the show to tell the people accepting the awards to hurry up when he gives Kojima around seven minutes to explain whatever acid trip he's working on next
Definitely agree, but I kind of understand why they did it. Chris judge’s speech last year must’ve messed with some of the scheduling of the show, so they probably thought this would help prevent that from happening again. I personally think the timer should be kept, but it should be far longer than just one minute, that part was wack
Even if you could excuse any of those the the game of the year of all things gets less time for their appreciation speech been a bunch of random celebrities talking on and on for about 5 minutes
@@ruskibruskiGeneric? Mf its a mech game, a niche genre. Spiderman is literally more generic than armored core cause it still follows a lot of action adventure tropes.
@@rasendori20 The game didn't get nominated cus it was a mid af ubisoft game with a harry potter coat of paint on it. Strip away the IP and that shit is a 5/10 at best.
You're definitely not alone, voted for it to win best audio and it did, I'm happy for it. It's just that not as many people tend to talk about the best audio award winner.
Comments: “I’m surprised Yuri didn’t win. He put his heart and soul into that performance.” Ben Starr: Had to record lines about his character visiting his dad’s grave a week after returning from his actual dad’s funeral.
If you think about it, Neil went through mental trauma in his past years, so he was able to put his heart and soul in Astarion. That being said, props to Yuri for his dedication. Man researched addiction symptoms and injured his vocal chords for symbiote Spiderman. He truly worked hard as well
The Baldur’s gate 3 director not only showed up in armor, but he won game of the year and accepted the award in the armor too. What a goddamn legend and Christopher Judge roasting COD was the highlight of the show for me.
theres a reason baldurs gate has so much scope and thats because that crazy bastard in charge has turned down potentially billions of dollars for his studio multiple times because he didnt wanna give up creative control. hes a mad artist
@@madmintentertainment6268agreed that I have no doubt if EA and other companies like EA would have ruin the game by pull in bunch of shit like microtransactions and loot boxes no doubt about it and would ruin the game to
@@dasaiyantv8483I thought Yuri Lowenthal would win it tbh. But damn zero award 😂. Edit: just to clarify, I'm not mad he lost. Seeing the reactions to BG3 winning, I think it's well earned.
It was fine. It was entertaining enough for me to pay attention. Everybody else can thank their loved ones on their own time. They should just take the award and gtf off the stage. Also, it's disingenuous when people bring up Kojima. There were several people who appeared to show off a new project (the No Man's Sky team for example) and they were given plenty of time to talk too. Basically, if you're not advertising a new product, gtf off the stage. And I hope they stick to that next year too.
@@milmil5350 while I don't agree that the TGA should be about advertiser's and promos, that is the direction it has been leaning in for years now, so at this point, so at this point, they should just commit to one, or the other. For example, I read, that if you combined Kojima and Gonzo's talking time, it was more than every award winning Dev's combined talking time, which should be a hint for everyone, that this isn't the place for Game Developers to be recognised anymore.
Was Hogwarts trying to off himself, or was he doing the thing where you can pull memories out of your mind so he wouldn't be able to remember getting left out?
i felt like the actors and non devs had more talk time in the game awards this year. At this rate it's slowly turning to a E3. Was heartbroken seeing Neil Newbon get rushed off the stage while trying to use his speech to speak on the behalf of somoen who passed away.
Nah. I disagree. Also, it's disingenuous when people bring up Kojima. There were several people who appeared to show off a new project (the No Man's Sky team for example) and they were given plenty of time to talk too. Basically, *if you're not advertising a new product, gtf off the stage.* And I hope they stick to that next year too. Thank your loved ones on your own time. The people who don't know them will feel pity for you, but ultimately won't care. TGA isn't meant for that anyway. It just makes people wanna tune out. That's why no one gives a damn about the Emmy's / Grammy's anymore. It's just a bunch of rich people giving political speeches and giving thanks to random people we don't know or don't care about. If TGA becomes like that, the viewership for it will plummet. No one wants to see that.
okay but i live in reality and Geofff already touched on this and said he will be correcting this like 3 days ago so nice message i guess? @@milmil5350
@milmil5350 huh?? OP literally didn't say anything about Kojima. Try a different copy pasta next time. This is the game awards and not E3, so it's kind of crazy to say no time should be spent talking about the awards. People don't like watching the grammys/Oscar's because we already hear those celebrities say the same things every day on TV (because they're celebrities), while game devs don't really get that luxury. It wouldn't be that hard to just review people's speeches (or give them a timer if they prefer to speak without notes) to make sure it doesn't go too long, AND also do your circle jerking with the random actors and Muppets for fun. At bare minimum, Chris Judge spent 5 minutes making a joke about his last speech being long af, that somebody else could've used.
@milmil5350 wth I love to gear the devs give thanks to people who literally died while making their game. Especially the devs like lunarian. Small team I'm sure we're close af and some of their friends didn't even get to see the end product. It's also interesting to see the faces behind the games we know and love, since we literally never get to see/hear what they went through when developing the game.
I really wanted him to throw in a "Best Audio Design goes to Hi-Fi Rush" and watch Spider-Man 2 say "Who TF is this?!". That would have been hilarious.
@josegiron9553 Elden Ring got a good amount, obviously there were aspects and wins that were questionable. But let's be real everyone knew going into Game Of The Year last year it was go8ng to be the battle between ER and GOWR.
If it was my choice all should win, in my extremely unpopular opinion. The whole awards is getting more and more difficult. All the games are good but its clear its getting harder to give the awards to all of them.
Alan Wake II actually made history as one the greatest Finnish cultural productions with the budget of around 50 million euros. I can assure you, playing the game as a Finn is different, it's filled with our language and countless cultural intricacies. Loving these Alan parts, keep 'em coming! And for all the Finns: TORILLE!!!
@@Dachin55555 Lets just kill the main character (despite his relationship with the other main character being one of the highlights of the first game) and replace his relationship with 2 weaker ones... one of which I (this is subjective) found to not care about at all (Abby's).
“Now get the hell outta here” NAH fr, these people didn’t even get a chance to properly talk it felt like, I wanted to hear Neil’s speech and all I felt so bad for him
Armored Core 6: "621; congratulations on winning 1 award with only a single nomination. Sony and the other corporations will be paying attention to independent video games after what happened. Now get some sleep."
@@EbonMaster Actually, with the recent release of Hogwarts Legacy on the Switch, the sells numbers for the overall game has vastly surpassed ToTK. Gotta keep in mind it released on all platforms in comparison to Zelda. But that’s from what I’ve read from certain sources.
Thx for the consistency bro Your comedy is so unique I personally love this channel bro Weak ass fucc everytime I come here man stay blessed brotha Great skit bro 😂
I had this scenario when after Baldur's Gate 3 is made GOTY, Venom is rightfully Pissed that Spiderman 2 was given 7 nominations but earned none of them. Peter tries to calm Venom down. Venom then goes to the castle where Peter fought The Flame and Yuri to vent his anger. Miles gets Venom to come back to the Game Awards for a group picture with the other games.
If I'm talking about a person, a collegue a friend who passed away during th development of my game and was told to wrap it up. I'd fucking go off on them
Kojima and Peele: *Goes on and on about The OD* Game Awards: That was so beautiful. Sven Vencke: We lost a developer lost month and- Game Awards: Yeah yeah yeah, my condolences, now hurry up.
@@kellytamia9152 And Best RPG as well. Even if I wanted Legends: Arceus to take that, but even that being the best Pokémon has been in years, Pokémon isn’t winning anything at the Game Awards. No way.
Quite similar with the 2023 Academy Awards when The Banshees of Inisherin got 9 nominations but zero wins, and Everything Everywhere All at Once (like Baldur's Gate 3) won (almost) everything.
I actually love both movies, but I'm a bit disappointed that Banshees didn't won anything. On this note, my comment wasn't a complain on the movie part, just on the Academy.
I seriously can't believe Marvel's Spider-man 2 didn't even win one award. Even Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (2021) managed to win an award for best narrative.
