@@John-uw2je it’s a little scary how many people who find that out and god dark very dark. I would recommend you save those urges for a Dark urge run, it will add I believe a lot of the run if you going that direction.
It has made reeavlaute turn based gaming. Certain things like accidentally killing main characters I can see being possible anywhere but the complex interactions in the combat scenarios seems too hard to pull off in an action game. There is also the extra benefit that once you know you can do so much you can just relax and take your time to think through what Rube Goldberg machine you want to come up with next.
@John-uw2je my first play through multiplayer with a full party...we landed on the beach and my friend started talking to Astarion and while he was in dialogue you see my character come behind and 1 shot him in the back and the party screamed out and asked me why?! "FOR THE DRIP!!!" from then on no one was safe. Who wants to spend a couple hours on the grove?! We fought the Grove for volos drip!
Played it for the first time yesterday and still in the very beginning. Lol yeah that quote resonated with me very accurately. These kinda games are new to me so i feel like a baby deer trying to walk right now
"Wait... You can do that ?!" has to be the sentence I have said the most while playing and consuming Baldur's Gate 3 content. It's insane how a game with such a rich world can also have such intricate systems you can find how to exploit if you accept to lose 2h just placing items around the map or finding the correct potions. You basically exchange time for cheats. It's brilliant.
@@masterstepz9800Not really because to be able to do that you need a systemic world at the minimum. Otherwise you're just using an exploit or a cheese mechanic. Here most of what people do is still part of the system, it's just an emergent property of it, an edge case if you will. You are not glitching the physics, or the items, you're just combining them in ways that create crazy reactions within the system. It's the difference between piling spells and items to traverse 100ft in a turn, And using a glitch to project a character from Act 1 to Act 2 for a speedrun using the physics of boxes and damage areas. If you really want to argue semantics though : sure... over-leveling your character in any game with levels is technically trading time for cheese. But that's obviously not what I meant.
Same. After I cleaned out the goblin camps, I watched a 2 hour video on it and saw 37 different ways to do it easier. 16 of which I can't do because of my race/class combination
I swear to god, so few channels make me happier than when I see an upload from this one. Pure freaking gold, and I’m not even a big dungeons and dragons fan yet
1:14 I was partied up with my friend who was ahead of me. And he was telling me that we need to be stacked on health potions, level up another level, and have a full rest before going into that room. But I saw the panther and got excited and just dashed in, and he panicked and got mad. But then I convinced him and my friend was so pissed cause it took him like 2 hours to beat that guy 😂
I sneak attacked the boss with my main (Drow, Rogue Assassin) and Astarion and he died in like 3 turns than everyone else....almost wiped me tbh but I got the win.
I just got ambushed by him and his crew as I went to grab loot on the other side of the room on the lower level. What happened? His entire army just ran to the end of the cliff by the throne and sat there the entire fight, unable to hit me, so I just 4v1'd the panther, then 4v1'd the orthon before slowly aoe killing the army of guys stuck on the ledge just watching me. Lol
My character had her eye removed by Volo so she got a permanent see invisible passive. Just stood at the entrance until everyone got revealed. Buffed the Party with Bless and Sanctuary. Spent three or four turns just walking up to the top area and repositioning everyone. When I finally started fighting, it was a slaughterfest. Yurgir was knocked to the level below and got harassed by Sniper Astarion from above. Wyll locked the Merrgion in Hunger of Hadar and Everytime they tried escaping they got pushed back in with Eldritch Blast. My Paladin and Shadowheart sat at the edge of Hunger of Hadar just bashing those who got too close to escaping before Wyll blasted them back in. Honestly forgot how the Displacer Beast died, but she was absolutely cooked. Think I hit her with a critical hit on a Spell Slot 3 Divine Smite then Cull the Weak kicked in and finished her off.
@@RazielTheUnborn Same, ended up detecting them all and just did aoe spells on them. When the big man came down my barbarian/paladin fucking destroyed him. Honestly one of the easier fights.
Hilariously, I still don't know if he's talking about Lae'Zel, Minthara or Shadowheart. Definitely not Karlach though. There's not a mean bone in her body (The mean bones were removed to make room for the engine, you see.)
"She's so mean.....oh you're in to that?" Lmao I'll tell you what though, Lae'zel is the character that grew on me the most through out my entire playthrough of the game. I am absolutely in love with her now. So much so that I'm bee lining straight for her on my second playthrough as my romance option and not even thinking twice of freeing Orpheus right away at the end of act 2. Sorry Emperor. That said, I still love Momma K too.
Ya man. I didn't romance her on my first run of the game, but she is the character that grew on me the most through out my entire playthrough. I absolutely love her to bits now. She is 100% my romance target for my second run and am totally planning on turning on the emperor immediately just for her. Lol
Romancing Lae'zel is like romancing a damn Klingon. Its violent and takes a while for her to trust you, but once it happens it feels *earned* and she would literally go to hell and back for you.
This my game of the decade. BG3 is a masterpiece in game development. Larian Studios should be proud of themselves. What a monumental achievement that is a once in a decade game. Congrats to Larian and Can't believe we live in a time where a company releases a complete video game and everyone loses their freaking minds
Great game, honestly probably goty, but I find it weird how many people keep saying its amazing to see a feature complete game these days when we've actually had several highly polished and feature complete games released this year: totk, sf6, ff16, pikmin4, ac6 to name a few.
@@chowdaire7343 It's not just the completeness, but the scale. The other games you mentioned are amazing and complete, but BG3 is far more massive than all of them and still maintains good quality and is complete
@@sarcasticlyhappy6448there's this barn located in the Blighted Village & you can clearly hear some noises that sounds like ppl are banging each other. Either that or they're moving something really heavy. Anyway you have the option to just keep walking & never open the door. Ask if someone's in there or something of that nature & a man will yell to go away. Or you can just open the door without any dialogue & see two Orges getting it on doggie style. The male is noticeably shorter than the female & makes you wonder how she feels him back there. Both are very ugly & scantily clothed (though I did turn off show nudity in cutscenes). She gets upset at the interuption & I think you can talk your way out of fighting but I always end up having to kill them. I just don't open the door anymore, keep walking & mind the business that pays me 😂
@@lovely_raeapparently, as a bard, you can convince them to keep going and you just leave. Ive seenone person, as a bard, tell them he'll make a song out of their love making. The guy gets excited. The girl tells him, he trash at banging and is too small, and they leave
@@lovely_rae If you manage to talk your way out of it, you get treated to some very funny dialogue with her complaining that “the moment’s gone” and some puns about his “virility.”
"I'm starting to have dreams about dice rolling" dawg I'm starting to have moments in my life where my brain tries to guess what roll I got for basic existence. My electric razor broke and in my head I'm like "Damn I crit failed the shaving check"
Baldur's gate is like chaos theory sinthesized into a game. There's so much freedom to do whatever you want, however you want it, and for sh!t to hit the fan at basically any point.
"You can do that?!?!" I've lost count of how often I've said that whilst watching other people's play-throughs, after having put 100+ hours into the game myself. 😆
It's been so long since I've been able to play a true split screen game with my lil sis... And to be allowed to pick Dark Urge and screw up all the questlines by randomly murdering people while she's not looking? Amazing! Incredible! 10/10 GOTY!!
My manual saves slots are maxed out in every game I have. It actually saved me from having to start all the way over from a dead NPC glitch in the witcher 3.
to be fair, I am normally not a fan either. it took me about 12 hours pushing through before I started binging the game. I am honestly in it for the story and characters at this point. it's real good after you get through the first part.
Watching this again now that I'm in Act 3 has me dying!!! BTW, 1:05 Is EXACTLY what I did, and why I always pick up and store fire wine and black powder barrels whenever I find them.
