Wouldn't it be hilarious if we found out later he had no actual knowledge of construction or building planning? No, just "you found the rooster statue, YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE", lol!
@@marcpine2794 The engineering marvel that needs to rebuild the coliseum would be something that rivals China's megaprojects in size cost and manpower. Especially working around already damaged areas that would probably need to be redone too. Sadly
I donated 50 dollars, which was a lot of money at that time for me. I really hope they can restore this architectural treasure back to its splendor. Seems like they're doing everything they can do to make it historically accurate. So many people around the world are rooting for all the people involved in this important restoration. ❤
Yes, they are taking a lot of pains to reproduce it as exactly as possible .Many French private donors also donated old oak trees from their own woods, some over two centuries old, for the spire and roof.
@@hermitsunite953 , non, la cathédrale n'est pas encore ouverte au public. C'est prévu pour le 8 décembre 2024. Et ça va être magnifique !! Cependant les travaux continueront jusqu'en 2028
@@hermitsunite953 no, the building is not open to the public now. It's scheduled for December 8, 2024. And it's going to be amazing !!! However, work will continue until 2028
Really old building + old out dated electrical systems pretty common. Idk a thing about European electric codes but. I know a master electrician in Europe isn't even an journeyman when the move to the states.
I mean when something has stood through so much only to be badly hurt from something sooo random, it affected people’s perspective of disaster and chaos. my mother is from there and she was so heartbroken.
With the way the world and my life went to hell at the same time and revealed a secret evil power within government….I’d say it was a warning to everyone.
I will say to learn from this, and your mother should to, that all things that are temporal are temporary, and only the eternal things are worth worrying about.
@@puccaland A hundreds of yeas old wooden beam is harder to ignite than a new one. Both are dry, as wood is stored until it reaches a certain level of dryness before it can be used for construction. I work in an old German town with the fire department. In fact it's really hard to ignite them and a sparkle on them can't do that neither a cigarette. Even with a lighter, you can't easily get these things to burn.
@@raistraw8629 So you disagree with the entire planet because that's basic knowledge that dry wood burns more easily than wet wood. The reason why any electric device was banned in that roof. Fires starting during renovation or construction work is also pretty common and it's often caused by a simple sparkle or light source of heat. Just so you know, the whole world analysed the Notre Dame case. Nobody ever said that what burned first was a beam.
@@puccaland not true. Try lighting a planed hardwood log on fire without a surrounding fire. It’s incredible difficult. You basically have to leave a blowtorch on it for minutes. Otherwise you just char the outside A 300kg beam wouldn’t light easy. That’s why kindling are thing soft wood strips and not chunks of oak
@puccaland the whole world refuses to acknowledge that importing people from the Middle East and Africa into Europe is causing irreparable damage, violence, huge increase in crime... and you expect this world to admit the possibility that a symbol of western Christianity may have been burned down either deliberately or by neglect by one of these imported members of "religion of peace"?
Dude, are you serious? Anything could’ve started that fire, the wood was extremely old and dry and there were no fire suppression systems in place. Also, the roof was covered in scaffolding and had plenty of construction materials, which were also flammable.
Just as long as they don’t try to “modernize” it. Saw the concepts that were being proposed and they were as sickening as the were offensive to the mighty Church.
Why is that hard to believe? Do you think electricity cannot cause fires? The roof was being actively worked on when it caught fire, so it seems very likely to be caused by an error by the workers, who would have been using electrical equipment.
Did you watch the movie? Quasimodo swung from the church spires holding a girl and over a massive pool of lava while trying to get killed by his caretaker. He probably swung out of there before the fire got taller than a foot
He usually seems to hang around the bell towers and the West Front. Those areas didn't have the severe damage, so hope he's OK. There's a video around here somewhere of the large bell ringing 1st time after the fire. It looked like they were 2 of Quasimodo's helpers. They rang it with manpower.... Electric system for the bells must not have been restored yet...
I like how they are redoing it proper minus modern cranes but you can’t help that but love how they are doing medieval log squaring techniques and it they medieval artisan work
They would add to their guilt, On the steps of Notre Dame You can claim that you haven't a qualm But you never can run from nor hide what you've done from the eyes, The very eyes, of Notre Dame
It shows the civilised world's selective outrage more than anything. You have an historic Cathedral burning, hundred of thousand peoples donate instantly to rebuild, meanwhile the Catholic Church's coffers are filled to the brim and could've paid for it themselves. At the same time, all that moment could've built millions of water wells and teach people how to farm and raise cattles in developing countries. If people spent as much time being nice with humans as they did with religious buildings, earth would be a peaceful place.
Nice there restoring it, here in the UK they just knock stuff down. After the war most stuff was demolished or left as a ruin like coventry cathedral. The rest of Europe restored there buildings.
Paris wasn’t destroyed in the war, so they’re not used to having their historical buildings destroyed. I feel London just might be a little too used to it, which is very sad.
I agree with your opinion. It may not have been accidental. It is assumed to be an accident due to not having any evidence how the fire actually started, no cameras catching who did it or when, and the fact that France has a lot of people who hate Christians and Catholics. While I agree also with others that there is no evidence for proving it was done maliciously, and that if an organized group does something huge they boast such as Hamas or Isis have done, a single French citizen or immigrant would not necessarily out themselves and go to prison. Not everyone who does a crime tells others. So without anybody having proof one way or another we should not claim it to be accidental or not an accident.
@@KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking Especially when these kinds of accidents are relatively common. It happened again in Copenhagen. Some construction workers simply are not careful enough.
@@KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking That's completely backwards. People who interpret malice as stupidity are called "suckers". They spend their whole lives getting fooled, tricked, and scammed. Con artists love them.
Recently I saw a video of the cathedral’s organ undergoing restoration and cleaning. Parts of the instrument are now playable, and the organ is expected to be “good as new. ”😎🎹
@@maxwentworth4391just stop with that bullshit already we should start thinking logically and realize that is was probably started by faulty electrical wiring electrical fires are very common if the wiring is not constantly maintained
They're building a 13th century castle in the middle of France, a lot of the craftspeople and experts working on that shared their techniques, especially regarding stonemasonry and medieval carpentry to reconstruct the vaults and roof.
This shall be a lesson for everyone to install proper fire protection in their iconic landmarks! We can't afford another ancient masterpiece engulfed in flames.
Built back better baby. Utilizing old world building methodology and practices. An adherence to tradition and reverance for the past. People from all over pooling resource to bring abiut the best craftsmen and trades people to restore a relic. Humanity and cooperation is just the best.
It sucks that such a beautiful piece of history was destroyed but hearing how many artisans they were able to hire for it made me happy. Like I am sure a lot of them are only used to doing touch up jobs on smaller buildings and don't get many opportunities like rebuilding a massive cathedral. I love that they were able to hire so many people who are almost all definitely deeply passionate for what they do.
It’s funny the only part of the building that burned was the new roof our civilization put on . That is an old world building . From a time that no longer exists
Sersisly make a restoration no need to do it the exact way they did when it was built like all thing it would fall anyway get over ya selves it a bulding
Glad I went to see it a few times before it caught on fire, but I’m excited to see it again all brand new! It’s a shame we don’t have the original structures anymore, but I’m glad they are trying to be as close as possible to the og one, that’s beautiful to see.
Yes it was. If it weren't by now the attacker would have laid a claim. Because this is what fools like you like to theorize, eh? That this was an islamic attack. Yet whenever there is one, the attackers do take responsibility. They want the publicity. Just burning down a church and not claiming it as an attack against "Infidels" is not their way to go about this stuff. So yes, this was an accident.
