After saying sorry to Kendrick Lamar after dissing him only a few days ago, J. Cole has forfeited a rap beef in way that is going to change his legacy forever...
Same goes with calling his next album the fall off. There ain't a song or verse in the world Kendrick could make that could hurt Cole's legacy more than Cole's own apology did
I think he sees it as standing on business by being fully transparent and true to himself i.e. "his spirit" and not letting "the world" dictate his moves. He reluctantly let it happen once by being influenced to make 7mD in the first place (so he says), he had instant regrets and decided he wasn't gonna carry on the act. what a shame.
Yall really think j cole of all people is gonna fall off just because he admitted he dissed a great artist who he’s friends with? Jesus yall are a different breed of sped
I dont know whats its with you non black people but Drake doesn't tuck his tail when it comes to beef, he participated in way too many. before you cry girls mention pusha t that ain't his only beef he ever had
@@ngmmngw9027 Kendrick is a better rapper than Drake. The only reason people looking forward to Drake responding is cause that’s who Kendrick was mainly dissing.
@@TheBigMenaceits childish and he even said it himself self on father time he literally shouldn’t have mentioned j cole name at any point but i guess he rather ruin the career of the man who not only fought diddy for him but also was the first person to tell dre about him my respect for Kendrick has went down alot after this you would think at 34 he wouldn’t be acting the same as the man he idles was acting at 20
@@spliffy8794 why are a lot of Cole fans forgetting that he threw subliminal shots at Kendrick on first person shooter...and been doing so for a while now ...and he's been rapping about how people don't want smoke from him for a while now, he had to back his words...that being said , l respect what he did, l understand it from a human being perspective but as a fan l was disappointed, l was really looking forward to some top tier rapping from both of them ...now listening to Might Delete Later doesn't even feel the same 💔
People upset at him for reconsidering his behavior and need some self reflection. J Cole did something that took more guts than most people have these days
As a fan of both. You can make a logical conclusion and still respect the other. Just because you can see the truth doesn't mean you're biased. It just means you see the truth.
Word, thats what I’m saying, maybe Cole accidentally predicted his fate when he decided to name it The Fall Off. These rappers always be doing shit like this, first it was Kanye, then Kendrick and Cole out here being the rap oracles 💀
If his sales decline because of this [when the quality of the music is still high], that says a lot about rap fans. You either want good music or you don't.
Word that is a sick coincidence and foreshadowing wow....😮😮😮😮 I already dont feel like this is right cole fucked up big time by apologising. Just the other day eminem said cole was great with the secret recipe feature look now every rapper i know is thinking wtf
I don't think it tarnishes J Cole's career.. If he's a great rapper he'll continue to be a great rapper but essentially takes him out of contention for saying he's the Greatest of All Time.. "When sh** hits the fan are you still a fan?" for those of you believed it was boring.. This is a quote from Mortal Man off of TPAB..
It’s destroyed his career. He can rap whatever he wants but now if he continues to spit bars wanting the smoke etc it’s all just embarrassing and he’s lost any validity. He’s been asking for the smoke for the past 3/4 years and then folded like a house of cards
He is a good rapper. He can flow and write fairly well. He’s made good and even great songs. But if he’s gonna act all competitive and invite challengers, he best be prepared like he said he was on 7 Minute Drill. Hell, if I was him, I woulda pulled no punches on Kendrick. That’s what I’d do out of love AND respect for Kendrick. And if he hits back with something hard, I’m gonna hit back even harder! This is basic rocket science you could learn just watching 8 Mile, minus the off the dome rule when you’re in the studio
People gotta realize J Cole care about people and he felt like he was acting out of his true character. Stepping back is not going against brand. It’s perfectly on brand. I respect him even more.
Honesty bro I think you missed the point of what he said, Cole apologised because he felt the diss wasn’t in character for him and he owned up to that because those disses didnt seem like something cole would say It’s actually a very mature and thoughtful approach
@@Gods194common is a conscious rapper who is still actively rapping, in the 90s he was engaged in rap beef with a rapper known as Ice Cube where they traded diss records back and forth.
yet hov is still widely ranked higher than Nas all time lol. its a stain sure, but not his entire legacy. same here, cole gon be fine dumbass manufactured beef aint worth it ESPECIALLY WITH SOMEONE WHO WAS A FRIEND. lil ass teenagers wont get it only men
Ppl tripping JCole is being sincere this apology doesn't take away from his rap skills or being a #1 anyone who drops him was never a fan anyone who says thinks this stains his past or future is missing his point stop pushing bs luv JCole and Kendrick🥰🥰⚜⚜
Nope, he LET his fans down. I’m still a fan but there’s no denying he betrayed us. Don’t act like its us who are not loyal, when even RDC’s Mark is pissed off at him 💀
No, Cole said nothing outrageous to have the need to apologize. For a rapper talking all the shit of being a number 1, he really is too soft. If he really felt sorry he should've just said so to Kendrick after the beef.
Apology for what though, it’s always been all love between them, no violence, no personal vendetta. This was purely about skills and ability, this was about challenging his pen amongst his peers and proving he one of the greats. All real fans are disappointed that he let us down, and lied to us about accepting all challenges for the top.
He's mature and not afraid to admit he was acting foolish. They're not characters, they're people, don't talk like they should get at each other just for entertainment. Imagine your homie talks shit about you and you have a fight. After a bit, if you feel like you're in the wrong and are mature enough, you'll apologise. Cole did a good thing
All we know is that J Cole doesn’t mean what he raps, after 2 years of saying he’ll eat rappers for breakfast, his “pen is lethal” and “no MC equal”. He’s lost integrity in his penmanship.
This is hip hop. A sport, if he didn’t want it, he shouldn’t have been rapping like he did. If you are top dog or claim to be, people are gonna come at you, Kendrick only said he was the best. Cole folded, it’s embarrassing, there’s no violence going on, he’s just scared
Boxers are also people. But the sport requires you to punch the other person in the face to win. Ali would never throw in the towel just because her "loved" the opponent. JCole should never brag about being the best since he basically GAVE UP! I would have been fine if he lost in the ringer.
You can’t ask for the smoke for 3/4 years and then fold so quickly. Even when the fall off comes, if he spits anything about being hard, or wanting smoke it’s embarrassing and his credibility as an artist is in tatters
@@1000Tees_ damn I find all the niggas that were “so thirsty to put him in beef” are the ones crying the hardest. It is not that deep and cole never in his career came up off of fake dissing others. I’m glad he admitted the diss wasn’t real instead of trying to create something that wasn’t real just for the entertainment of hip hop twitter creeps
J Cole wasn't defeated by Kendrick. He kamikaze'd himself. He could've stay silent but confessed peer-pressure made do/say things that he didn't believe in. Be honest, would we prefer if lied Cole and pretended he was invested just for our entertainment? Would we prefer he pretended he believed what he said in "7mDrill"? Would he prefer he gave a half-hearted performance in a rap battle with Kendrick - which he would inevitably lose bc the negativity conflicts with "his spirit" and Kendrick is less sensitive and more ruthless. OR would we prefer that he be himself and speak his truth with full transparency? We either want the truth or we don't... 🤷🏾♂ Nobody cares about the truth when the lie is more entertaining. People didn't want Cole's truth. They wanted a battle.
💯 bro chose to let the bodies of work do the talking while everyone want toxicity. No other genres or race go after their own ppl like hip hop or black folks do!!!
Oh LORD. This is some HOLY COPE. Y'all don't seem to even understand the culture of Hip Hop. It's about talking shyt, LITERALLY. When an artist challenges you for the crown (the one that YOU keep saying is yours!), you either compete and PROVE you're better, or you FOLD. You don't diss, then delete, and APOLOGIZE two days later. So what we would have PREFERRED, is if J Cole had just said nothing at all. You can rationalize it to cope all you want, but this is unbelievably embarrassing, and I wish he had never done this. He shoulda just stfu from the start. He's a grown azz man and he's talking about PEER PRESSURE??? Boy BYE 🙄
@@TheVerbalAssassinFAFO do you think you’re kicking knowledge? you think Cole doesn’t know this? He knows and he still did this anyway, and he’s prepared for the consequences.
@@nameisamineI promise you he’ll regret this decision even if he think it’s what’s best for him right now! When you are barring about how you’re the best, the GOAT, ducking no smoke but then go back on your words and unrelease your diss track the first time that spot gets challenged... that’s not your spot anymore. This will make everyone who hears his future lyrics about him being the best and wanting smoke make them instantly think of this moment. He can’t talk slick and braggadocios about being better than everyone anymore like he has been for years. This WILL stain his legacy whether we as fans or Cole like it or not and he’ll regret it in the future. Plus, that apology and songs on the album have only confirmed that he has been online and he listens to the narratives... you don’t think he’s gonna hear everything being said about him right now and not regret it? That peace he said he wants to keep won’t last long because he’ll always think back to this moment and if he was sad about letting Nas down... imagine letting Nas, hip hop and his own fans down and how much that’ll weigh on him😕
J. Cole likes to place himself in a mentor role in his songs because it’s a safe spot. He doesn’t want to take risks or be in competition because he can’t handle it. That’s why he has never beefed with anyone directly such as Drake and Meek or Eminem and MGK or 2pac and Biggie. He’d rather appear to be some noble mentor/warrior when in reality he is scared to go up against anyone.
The funniest part about this whole apology is that Kendrick can still diss J. Cole. Just because Cole decided to forfeit doesn’t mean he not finna catch some more strays, especially after this
@@impacc4182 I was a huge ass Cole fan that would defend most things about him, but THIS I cannot defend. Now a good portion of his discog is gonna age poorly because of this
J.FOLD bout to drop another album: “The Apology” •The Better Man ft. Drake •Diss & Miss •Self Infliction Conviction •The Glaze Phase (fan requested) •I Stand by my Stans •Not enough lungs for the Smoke 💨 •Bars before cars 🚗 Can’t wait
If the diss track had him losing sleep, I can't imagine the amount of sleep he's going to lose later knowing his self sabotage apology has turned him into a punchline and gave rapper that wants to come at him enough ammo to clown him at will.
Cole is NOT scared of Kendrick, he is sparing him the slaughter out of love. Competitive Hip hop culture has literally led to millions of deaths- shout out to Cole for not wanting to be part of toxic culture of ripping each other apart. Cole won already ❤
@@philiplewandowski2469 maybe you are right even I am not that of a Cole fan I am a K Dot fan but i feel that Cole has something really great inside him... 7 minutes drill was a lit diss even we know that but his respect for his competitors... It's greatness I feel... Brother
Man, J. Cole is too fire. Him apologies won't damage his career. It's very clear J. Cole is not about that beef Culture. J. Cole has been killing it lately, an apology doesn't remove that.
J Cole is just respectful. He ain't cut out to be a vicious ripper like Dot, he's still a guru when it comes to penmanship. He genuinely respects Kendrick & that's just that. Everyone's allowed to make mistakes & learn from them!
The thing is J Cole for the past 4 or 5 years has been marketing himself as the greatest and that he'll smoke anyone who dares challenge him, Everybody dies and FPS are the perfect example of this.
He didn’t run away, he didn’t want to ruin his friendship. He’s clearly not scared, y’all just gassing this up. Y’all just can’t comprehend a humble man who doesn’t want to lose a friend.
@@NotJunyaWatanabe cuz he’d smoke any rapper don’t matter who n he got with dot but that’s bro so he decided to back off but any else it’s a wrap don’t matter who 🤷🏿♂️
@@jkh102642 and that's why he got the bronze medal, even mgk stand on business against eminem bruh. This is just a rap competition to prove who really is the best in the mainstream media. Except if there's behind the scene talk between kendrick and cole, this is just an L for cole. Why kendrick is the exceptance for the smoke if he is chasing the gold medal when kendrick/drake is the one blocking cole to get that medal.
Lol. This didn’t age well. As we now know from the example Kendrick made out of Drake, he would’ve murdered J Cole. It was in his best interest to wave the white flag, if anything he saved his career.
This is why i became a J Cole fan in the first place. Songs that are deep, sentimental and mature. I can't act surprised if he acts sentimental and mature in real life too. I love J Cole, sad to see him do this, but i will support him always
Yall gotta understand that at the end of the day he's a human being. why would any human do something to prove something to someone else at the cost of their own happiness? that's like the big kid who don't play sports, forcing him to play sports (even if he is the greatest of all time) isn't gonna make him happy if it isnt what he wants, it will only make you happy. imeagine j cole just wants to work with kendrick, but yall want him to diss bc of "respect". if he follows through now the person he wanted to collab with is an enemy and COLE'S dream only gets farther and farther away. i was at the festival and heard the whole speech, and sqashing the beef and beeing himself is what he said he wanted to do.....
it feels like the Shaun white documentary when he said that he would go into tournaments and truly try and win and beat the competition and they would get mad because they just wanted to come in and have fun and be buddies and just let someone win. like "NO BRO I'M HERE TO PLAY THE SPORT THE WAY ITS MEANT TO BE"
Why do y'all keep saying he apologized because he was scared? If he was scared, he wouldn't have dropped in the first place. He said that he felt bad for dissing someone that he respects and doesn't really have a problem with
I haven't lost respect for Cole at all cuz it shows that he doesn't give a s***t bout this beef. Also bro I love your content but you're just painting Cole in a bad way to think he's scared cuz of backing out. You tweakin
I myself don't think it's a big deal as a Cole fan. It's just him. Until I see people want to see them cutting each other's throat and call Cole a loser. Let the dude have the peace...
