I’m a J Cole fan, 1- he is authentic and doesn’t prescribe to the whole rap persona. 2- he’s mindful and appreciative of his moves in the industry and real life. When I heard he dissed KL I felt my respect for him go down and I wasn’t interested in hearing neither the diss nor the apology until now. And I’m proud of him for doing what his authentic self felt right. And by doing so, shows that he is genuinely a thoughtful, mature man. 🫡
Yep but it’s the critics who be talking the most ish if everybody was tough and not slightly soft this world would be a damn war zone and it seems like most the population like seeing ppl self destruct and cole is VERY AWARE OF THAT 👌💯
Appreciate the thoughtful and grounded perspective, especially approaching it open ended rather than some lazy, half of a half of half baked, barely if at all considered narrow lense of this or that sentiment rooted solely in some reactionary subjective take that has been customary in this situation. Its so tiring and disappointing for people to not merely just have effortlessly biased takes without bothering to pursue nuance, but further to barely have the opinion qualify as such as far too many aren't even actually rooted in thought at all, and instead are in effect just an emotion based feeling, which is far reduced devolution of what already is a challenged not to simply narrowly attempt the vain exercise of subjecting someone else to your own perspective without the peer part and heavy on the projection of self, who by the way has no say or stake in the choices, although certainly doesn't impose similar limitations on their entitled presumptions authority in determining the what/how/why if not when and where of another's movements.
I think he made the right call, it didn’t sit well and even the whole album came off disingenuous way. Like the good dude you know trying to act a part for the other dudes in the group. Imo him saying it was the lamest ish that was that Cole energy. You can be a great rapper without diminishing your respect for your peers. That Kendrick drake stuff was pure hate. Cole Isn’t the guy to drop a diss taking to this dudes son about how trash his father is. That’s never been Cole and it’s no right to expect that energy from him when he’s never givin it before.
@@Docmatema calling person pedophile is not holding back. They all fook 18-20yr old girls and had disgusting sex benders. J Cole has no dirt on him like Mr 5'5. But rap amateurs just like loud beat and aggression. Where cole only focuses on lyrics like true rappers.
@@dudettevlogs4257 cause he is not that type of rapper. People love hate, anger, yelling, loud beats because of personal life struggles. Lyrically? He is like a perfect preacher. While Kendrick Lamar is an angry gangster.
I’m old enough to remember living thru BIG and PAC. The only true winner was Nas. Incidentally Nas and Cole are close, and I believe Nas dropped a few words in his ear. Question was can you choose peace and be the best Answer yes… his name is Nas. Still lifting people.
“I ain’t got no **** friends. That’s why I ****** your ***** you fat ****” Until Meet The Grahamns, Hit Em Up was the number 1 song I was glad wasn’t about me.
1# I understand why Kendrick was annoyed with the big 3 reference. Like I write my own raps. I do it so well that I won a Pulitzer price ( the only rapper to ever do it) , and have 17 Grammies, and you are going to put me in the same category as a dude who doesn't even write his own stuff? He even have ghost writers, and credited writers for beef/battle songs. What are we even talking about? I bet Kendrick was even more annoyed because that verse came from Cole , who supposedly, writes his own rap too 😂😂 2# Honestly, that 7 mn drill song was uncessary if Cole didn't feel like beefing with Kendrick. It kinda overshadowed the album itself. On the other hand, I can't help thinking that he apologized after the mixed reviews receptions for that diss track. Anyways, he has to do him, so...
Kcuf being the best! A platinum rec is still a platinum rec. I'm competing with anybody else's for the entertainment of the people who dont want any drama their selves but want me to engage in it. Find something better to with your time people
No. Jcole should have left his diss out there . And if Kendrick or Cole wanted peace then he should have smoothed things over with Kendrick behind the scenes. If like that is in any way a Cole diss, then cole should stand by his record. Love and respect is a 2 way street if Kendrick had no problem dissing Cole, making things awkward for him, then Cole should have no problem firing back, cuz why would someone who should have love for you put you in that position
This I can agree with.. I know Kendrick says it’s sparring moments in hip hop- he did it with control too- so maybe that’s why Cole apologized because he realized it wasn’t that serious…
The song was unnecessary because Might Delete Later was a perfect response. He didn’t need a direct song to Kdot. He did enough “shit talking” that it would sufficed as a response. I enjoyed 7 minute drill, but when you listen to the talk on Might Delete later Trae the Truth in Ibiza literally sums up everything. It honestly even makes the apology make sense. The peer pressure was to make a direct response, a direct “diss” but it wasn’t needed. The internet so funny and fake.
I honestly feel like someone, Drake or Kendrick, let J. Cole understand how intensely personally this beef was about to be and he bowed out of that personal battle, because he want to prove that he’s the best and these guys are proving who is the worst. J. Cole is watching the artistry that Kendrick brought to the conflict and sharpening his pen to take on that level of art with his own.
His heart wasn't in it also I think he definitely didn't want Kendrick to dig up dirt on him as well so the apology seemed like the most logical thing to do for him.
it’s literally not his prblm I doubt cole has rape allegations like he said it wasn’t his beef to begin with he’s passing all the bs while y’all hold on to it this is real life and he lives in the real world not like Kendrick who’s trying to play big bad wolf there are better things to worry about instead of hip hop and rap all day with his money I wouldn’t even stare at these dudes 😂
Hip hop and “da streets” are closely tied together! Ain’t no separating it… so combat is a part of that culture. Tappin out ain’t an option…similar to life
I hear you, but it does not _have_ to be. Folks like Q-Tip, Talib K, Twista, and LL (mostly) are able to rap without being combative. Other elements like education, socioeconomics, politics, love, kinship/Brotherhood/Sisterhood, self-respect, Justice, and just straight-up having FUN (Joy) are also great elements of Hip-Hop that could _and should_ be prioritized above combat. ☮
In hindsight, this Kwndrick/Drake beef is the nastiest, most toxic event I have witnessed in a minute. And I'm glad backed up from all of that. That shit was naaasty.

What if it was all a set up? Hear me out. Drake wasn't going at Kendrick direct so Cole did on a track with Drake and when he dissed Kendrick. Essentially ⛽ Drake's Scary ass up. To believe he had a real shot and back up to go at Lamar. Now I'm pretty sure the drops don't align but that doesn't mean we know what was going on behind the scene. Anyway this probably isn't the case. It is the first thought I had After Cole apologized. If I was Drake (I would NEVER be Drake) That's the angle I would have taken! Like, look at these conniving ass Fools!
J.Cole fumbled and paid the price for fumbling. If he didn't want to enter the drama he simply shouldn't respond. Also don't come at me with some "bUT hE wAs PeEr PreSsuReD". Lmao and? A grown man who's almost 40 years old was peer pressured by his fans and friends into doing something he didn't want to. How is that an excuse? It's not. Cole fumbled and he simply CAN'T be considered the no. 1 rapper. He simply isn't.
You ain't in Cole's shoes so neither you or I will understand the pressure he was under. Judge all you want but peer pressure and/or people pleasing don't got an expiration date or respective age limit.
Cole gassed himself and his fans up by his own accord. Didnt Cole himself say their generation is different and theyre all really competitive? But when the time came, he was "too good" for competition? Suddenly hes Mr. Peace and Mental Health and Spirit? it wouldve been one thing if he never replied at all. but after the dozens of times he mustve heard 7MD to mix and master it, he didnt find it in himself to be too good for ego then huh
As a freethinker I think Cole was told to the powers datz be to apologize & fall back & let drake take the battle becoz dey wanted Kendrick to be the top tier in the game right nw becoz drake been the 6 God for a long time so his time is ul! #youarewhaturock
BEING THE BEST IS NOT AN OPTION FOR JCOLE. HES NOT LIKE US NEITHER😂😂😂 BOTH AUBRY AND COLE COME FROM EDOMITE MOTHERS. THEY ARE NOT ISREALITES. THATS THE VERSE YALL KEEP MISSING. COLE AND AUBRY COME FROM THE SAME BACKGROUND THATS WHY KDOT SAID “THEY” NOT HE! THIS RAP WAR IS REALLY OVER YALL HEADS.
I think you're the one looking into things way too much. Doesn't the "THEY" imply the OVO dudes from fucking Canada? He name dropped all of them motherfuckers in that song, and said that Drake did Cole foul, presumably due to that FPS song. That was literally what he was talking about in his entire song LMAO did you not listen? Also, TDE and Kendrick's people still fuck with Cole, hence why Schoolboy Q told Cole not to engage with the beef in the first place. If they didn't fuck with him, they wouldn't make songs with him or tell him shit 😂
