@@lucacapone2174 Same, the big Gold. It would've been dope if it was the Undertaker who won it and retired it at 21-0. And they inducted The belt and Taker at the same time into the Hall of Fame with late 2000's video package with the old Smackdown theme
Undertaker said he never wears the belt because as the undertaker he doesn't value earthly attachments. So he holds it in his hand. That's why his reigns are so short.
@@youtubeisfullofnerds5767yeah and every television show and movie you watch is fake. It doesn’t mean you don’t get invested in the story. Don’t be a cynical asshole just for the sake of it. Nobody likes a person like that.
@@youtubeisfullofnerds5767+ What he's talking about is the storytelling aspect. Of course it's fake. We all know that. He's saying that it would have made for a much better story for the streak to have never been broken. And he's right. Even other Wrestlers see Undertaker as something of the Godfather of Wrestling in his time and to this day he's treated that way borh in the ring and even backstage. Hell even VINCE directly stated in an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin that NO-ONE has given more back to the business than Taker. NO ONE has more respect from literally everyone involved than he does. He's on pretty much everyone's Mt Rushmore and frankly, he deserved to keep his streak going. What I'm getting at here is your comment is not only pointless and redundant but, if you'd actually bothered to employ some 3rd grade reading comprehension - instead of being so intent on coming here purely to start some shit and be an ass for no good reason - you'd have realised that your comment is also ultimately irrelevant and has nothing to do with anything being discussed here.
Undertaker himself said that the person who should have ended the streak was Bray Wyatt. Would have been an absolute perfect passing of the Torch moment.
@ivanr7209 nah, Roman was already made. You could argue Bray was too, but not to the same extent as Roman. Bray was the only person who should've ended the streak and the only person who would've benefited the way he would've.
@@17Jroachno Vince had picked Brock, Taker still thought to the day of wrestlemania 30 that he was going over, It was only until Vince called them in the office and told them that Brock is winning and Taker was still trying to help Vince rethink, however Vince was the one that believed if not Brock lesner who else would be able to do it
I was gonna say the same thing. He’s old school and has respect for the business. I still think Brock going under was a botch. Roman going over was clearly something that would’ve worked better if Roman was the one to break it and retire Taker.
@@martindesantis2830Vince was bringing Taker back for special occasions, they never knew which one was gonna be his last match, and if they were to keep bringing him back and beat him he would've lost all interest
That would have been amazing! It’s his home state it is quite frankly the biggest match that WWE never did! Cena vs Taker in the main event of WM32! Roman can still beat Triple H on the under card!
Cena / Taker whilst the streak was still alive would have been epic. Such a waste. Imagine that at WM30 instead of Brock breaking the streak... Then they could have had Roman or Bray break the streak at WM32 and then have him retire.
@@airfixx_8952 That could have work as well! However, I think Taker as WWE Champion would’ve been great as well! Especially since it was 2016 so afterwards, they could’ve done Roman vs Styes for vacated championship and still that Money In The Bank Moment!
@@thadc5937not at all it perfect to be Brock nobody else would’ve been believable. People forget that win propelled Brock into a different stratosphere
I would have had brock lose to taker then had the roman/brock beef which roman would have won then to show his superiority have him end the streak as a heel.
@@Hellraiser988 Yes! Jim Ross has work NWA, WCW, WWE and AEW! He has so much experience in the wrestling business. It’s a crime and he’s not being used better. Tony has the tools to make AEW great but he just doesn’t wanna do it!
@@joeblack_ I’ll be willing to take that chance! Plus he along with maybe Jake and Arn and a couple other people could be a booking team! tony just need to let stop The Elite having power and I do include Kenny in that. Because backstage he still in The Elite camp! He got beat up Wednesday. It was so sad.
That decision would ultimately kill JR. He is fairly old and all that stress would cause him to have a stroke or heart attack. Jim is fine where he is. Plus TK doesn’t like to listen to anyone. He wants to play with his real life action figures that daddy bought him
I would love for that ending of the undertaker’s career.he would of left at 23-0 at wresmaina and win another championship before leaving that would so awesome.
In my opinion nobody wore that belt better than Undertaker. And he never should have lost the streak, again in my opinion for the longest time that was the biggest seller for wrestlemania
Sting and Undertaker are the only two that I can think of that this happens and you don't blink an eye. You clap and say well deserved. but no, not even close to the same. The fact that so many people liked this comment is a testament to how little they understand, and frankly I don't want to say anymore because I'd just rather y'all enjoy whatever you enjoy and don't want to chance whatever I have to say affecting that (it probably wouldn't, but I don't really want to have that option on the table)
That would suck for the following champion and for the company. If taker was to retire at mania he should of gone in as champion by winning it at ss the prior year, have him go heal, have a fued with a unsuspecting but deserving guy who goes over by winning the rumble and then taker puts him over handing over the torch.
Cena is getting put over literally by going heel. Taker is putting him over with that alone. And honestly Taker would’ve did one more match probably with Cena if it was that serious. I think they could’ve did it but there’s nothing wrong with ending the streak like this. He wins the championship and then retires on his terms undefeated at Wrestlemania. Cena gets put over by turning heel and making a turning point in WWE. I don’t see the big issue. Cena will do whatever it takes to win his title back and think about the superstars he could’ve faced. Roman, Seth, Dean, Cesaro, Sami , KO, Bray, Randy, Sheamus and etc. while being a damn heel.
@treypowell567 the problem is that you cant be the man without beating the man, its like when rollins became champion while roman never lost it. Im a big seth rollins fan but as good as he is, the world title felt like a secondary belt. A retiring champion cheapens the next guy and will be seen as the paper champion
@@Resident1157Did Seth go undefeated at Wrestlemania? No lol. Bruh this is the streak we’re talking about….I understand what you mean about the secondary status of being a champion but I don’t think it would be that deep especially with this storyline. Everyone involved is gonna get over most likely
Undertaker won in 07 and WrestleMania 23 was in Detroit Michigan. I think Ross has his memories mixed up. Undertaker was facing Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32 in a Hell in a Cell.
Damien honed his skills like most wrestlers do but he didn’t really change really. He’s the same guy he’s been since ROH when he was in the top of prospect tournament going against Lio Rush. He hasn’t changed his personality nor gimmick for the most part and I love that about him.
I personally feel he wouldn’t have wanted to leave without ending his streak, and if that’s the case he should’ve lost it to someone he could’ve actually passed the torch to. That person would be a certified hall of famer no matter how long they’ve been in the WWE.
its crazy that we didnt had any undertaker wwe champ run in his last prime years, i stand with jim ross on this and i actually gonna use his idea for my universe mode xD
JR when he was head of talent relations in the late 90s-early 2000s did have some input creatively, and he booked the house shows during that time, but he was never officially on the creative team. In the 90s during different periods the actual creative team consisted of a combination of Patterson, Prichard, Cornette & Russo, with Vince having the final say obviously. After that they started bringing in a bunch of writers, mostly unsuccessful screenwriters. Stephanie was in charge for a while. Heyman had a great run in charge of the creative team on SmackDown in the early 2000s, and has worked as a producer on big matches for a long time. He was put in charge of Raw in 2019ish (when they very briefly brought Bischoff in to run SmackDown) but Heyman's Raw run didn't last long. Since that time Prichard has been in charge of both writing teams, answering to Vince and now Triple H
@@StarwarsfanArmy 😂😂😂 no doubt about that sir, but I was referring to the spinner WWE championship title belt. Specifically the one john cena used to carry. The heavy weight was good too especially on the batista.
The other reason this is the best ending is because, as we've seen, the man has had a hard time staying away! I think the idea of him leaving as champion is great because it would have allowed him to return whenever he felt the demons stirring again - and then he could return to challenge the new champion in a "champions match", which would've been awesome if it ever came to be. But I think Mark earned three right to choose his ending if anyone ever has, and i think at that time, he was looking for an out that elevated someone else while also (so he hoped) closing the door on a triumphant return. He wanted to create the experience of a concluded book and turn the page for the last time. But honestly - he should've known better! 😂
It should have always been Cena VS Taker in a No Holds Barred/I Quit match.. they were both undefeated in those style of matches. It woulda been something!
Ending as in this is how he would finish the streak and how he would book the last match Not ending as in breaking the streak and making undertaker lose
Taker would have never have gone through with that. If anything he would have wanted John to go over. Taker is the embodiment of old school, and Old school pro wrestling mentality is that once you're old and a vet, you use your clout to push/put over the newer younger guys, so that the business can move on from your legacy, whilst also allowing then to contribute their story to another wrestler's and elevate their clout. Taker would never would to retire undefeated.
In most cases yeah, but a legend like that it's not so bad to do. He bled WWE for like 25 plus years. But that's just how I see it, again in 99% of cases I'd agree with you there though.
I would have just booked it for someone who deserved it like Bray Wyatt or CM Punk. The buildup for the Punk/Taker match was so good with Punk as the shit eating heel. His heat would have been off the charts
Honestly shouldve happened that way Just like with Cena wanting to turn heel around the time he went against the rock. I mean he said he had a whole new personality written up and ready to go. But they made him be traditional Cena
Then Cena turns heel. Taunts, challenges and belittles Undertaker for retiring and not wanting to give him a rematch. Taker accepts they run it back at the next wrestlemania and Cena goes over. Making Cena an even bigger heel. Adding a different dynamic to Cena.
I know they say it’s business but why couldn’t the steak not be ended. I think it’s fits Taker’s gimmick. He’s immortal. The streak is symbolic of his character that he will never rest in peace. On the biggest stage Taker rose above all his opponents and that’s why he’s the phenomenon.
Everyone needs to get over this streak ending, as a result of it ending they were able to launch lesner into unbeatable monster status and get five years of storylines with it. People forget lesner was booked pretty 50/50 before that since he came back. The streak plus the cena squash remade him and allowed Roman, Seth, aj, strowman, macintire, and Cody to all get the rub off of that win that is the whole point of wrestling
This would have been horrible and unbelievable. Taker was pretty much a cripple at this point. The breaking of the streak will be talked about forever.
Vince Don't care about nobody. That's why he still feels like. He owes Undertaker the world because he Low key did him dirty By using his loyalty for granted against him.
This is how almost everyone would go out if they could choose. But I am 100% certain there is no way Taker would have gone for it. He was always taught that when your time comes, you go out on your back and pass the torch, just like it was done for him.
Still hurts my soul that he lost the streak in New Orleans 😮💨 I prolly would have cried if I went, lol. We did get that awesome meme out of it though lol
