How Kemba Walker Went From All Star Starter To Waived In 2 Years

Kemba Walker has had an illustrious career. However, he recently got waived by the Detroit Pistons after reports surfaced that he would take time away from the team during training camp. Walker had been a 4-time All-Star, including which was an All-Star Starter appearance as part of the Boston Celtics in 2020. But unfortunately, luck would not be on Kemba's side as he would deal with numerous injuries & a degenerative knee that made him much less of the player he was at his peak.

Feel bad for Kemba!! He went from being an all-star player and playing at a high level to where he’s been waived twice and unplayable on the court. The injuries were just taking a toll on him and he wasn’t the same. Hopefully, he gets one more chance to play and hopefully play healthy.

The way guys like Kemba and Derrick Rose played put a lot of torque on their knees. Ultimately it caught up to both of them. Kemba wasted his best years in Charlotte.

Its also the fact thats hes extremely undersized. He was already a defensive liability and once you start losing athleticism at barely 6’0 youre out of the league. Extremely skilled but that doesnt cover height

Kemba is one of my favorite players (i’m from nc) and if it wasn’t for him the Hornets would’ve been as miserable as back in the bobcats days. Humble guy who still deserves a roster spot.

As big Kemba Walker fan, I really appreciate the the video almost an hour, others will not spend some time searching or thinking about a video about Kemba. I don't think he's washed at all. I think the Celtics was a terrible fit and the Knicks did not need another ball handler. Him being injured also contributed heavily to this. Also he might've raised the floor for Detriot who is competing for the Victor sweepstakes

Kemba was a 2020 all star but if you remember the all star game he was the guy who sucked the ball of his knee and lost the game for his team. He also only averaged like 20ppg that year, it was just light on point guards in the east that year.

Ujiri also should be criticized for how he handled the DeRozan trade. It's one of those trades that worked out but at the time DeRozan was done dirty by Masai. Stevens did this as his first move as GM after talking lavishly as a coach about Walker's play & how they'll be patient with him. That rubs me the wrong way to be quite honest

I think it's whack to say Brad Stevens only got his job because he's white. He has made Boston's roster immensely better in the past two years and he was a very good coach for the vast majority of his time there. I think it's far more likely that the Celtics organization just knew this guy knew his shit and wanted to keep him on and move past Danny Ainge.
