THATS me right now… my ferretin levels high from inflammation, hs crp high 8.9, body inflamed from gluten and dairy, body hasn’t been taking the vitamins I been taking for months … it’s a struggle to the point I got memory issues, balance, anxiety, depression etc

Hi Samiir, I know your comment is from one year ago but I would really appreciate it if you could please share with me how you are doing now? And if you have healed can you please share with me what you did to get better? I am literally suffering with severe anxiety and depression due to leaky gut. I have severe food and supplement intolerance and I am not able to take supplements or probiotics to start healing my gut. I would really appreciate your response. Thank you.

Dr. P you are so pragmatic and you do such a great job of getting the key information out. Thank you. I think you are one of the best interviewers out in the medical podcast arena. I have had insulin resistance all my life and am using the CGM through Levels, have lost 35 lbs and asked my doctor yesterday for a fasting insulin test. I have become my own health advocate because of you, Dr. Hyman, Dr. Attia and Dr. Chatterjee (and the rest of the functional medicine docs on the web).

Polyploidy of modern wheat is 6n- 3 times more than original wheat. That alone might explain gluten sensitivity- the content is 3 times higher. On the top of that modern wheat is predominantly rich in “bad” alleles- the ones that cause Celiac disease. So, thanks to Monsanto and luck of proper FDA regulations we now have the sickest population in the developed world. And to make things worse Monsanto is moving it’s products to Europe as well… it’s not a mystery anymore. Simply, no one cares, except for people with autoimmune disease and poor doctors who are taught to prescribe meds… I enjoy your podcasts and I thank you for bringing these issues up. Please continue to educate people to take care of their own health

We been in the cattle business for 50 years. 95% of cattle never get an antibiotic on the farm . You city boys think it’s easy to give hundreds of large untame animals a shot for no reason, anytime you want. Go try it. Also the medicine is very expensive. Good talk about the gut tho. It’s mostly from gmo grain.

Great interview...thank you so much! I personally don't believe humans were meant to eat grains. Grains are the seeds of grasses...and humans don't eat grass...we can't digest grass or the seeds of grasses...unlike cows (or other grazing animals) that have 4 stomachs and can digest and regurgitate in order to benefit from that food source. I heard someone say a long time ago that humans should eat whatever they can eat right at the source (picked from a tree, a plant, a bush, a vine or from the ground). If the food has to undergo more processing than basic washing or cracking a nut...humans probably should not eat it. Grains cannot be eaten without processing. That theory makes sense to me.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. People with the most diverse gut microbiomes sometimes have the least diverse diets. Look at African tribes and ancestral aboriginals. This is well studied. Plus there's no good evidence that polyphenols and "antioxidants" benefit humans. In fact, polyphenols also act as an antinutrient and chelate out certain nutrients like iron. Antinutrients like lectins and oxalates are inflammatory.
