Dude you are Genius. As a boomer, I was worried that younger generations had no care or value for reason and logic [because schools no longer teach it]. But I still think some logic is intuitive, because logic - in some sense, at least - boils down to consistency. And every child observes and learns from patterns and consistency, which establishes truth. Anyway, not to bore you with that, but you have real depth in your videos. I've gotten to where I tire easily with the usual blahblahblah of most video presentations, which are designed more to repeat what we already agree with. But I learn new insight from yours, on things I thought I already thoroughly understood better than most people. You present a very uncommon depth I haven't seen anywhere lately. I hope your viewers are getting as much as I am, because it's crucial that this generation understand what they're up against, how they're being hoodwinked and 'lead down the garden path' [as we used to say]. And Your videos are accomplishing that better than any I've seen yet. I want to write more because I just can't say enough about how great your content is, but it would probably get boring, and maybe you've heard it all before.....and I don't hand out compliments often, to anyone.

Yea I was recently told by a black woman who had far higher socio-economic status and power than me that racism was only racism if it was white on black because white people are the dominant race. Which felt very unfair to me, as someone who has experienced racism, disadvantage, and oppression...which I'm literally being told by someone of higher socio-economic status isn't valid because of my race....which seems an awful lot like another form of racism.

"Prejudice Plus Power" is an extremely ad-hoc redefinition of the word "Racism". It was designed to refer to exactly one scenario and accept one scenario only, and that being a country where blacks are neither the majority in population size nor in elected government seats. In the event that the nation in which a leftist currently lives in begins to see a black majority, they will deflect by bringing up a different nation, unless or until all nations are of a black majority, in which case the "prejudice plus power" redefinition will be replaced by another ad-hoc redefinition whose condition will likely be "Being biologically white".

That sounds like complete nonsense unless if there exists a possibility of an evidence of anyone espousing that exact point to be nothing more than a cover-up for ethno nationalism, which by no means has ever been supported by anyone who is not a right winger. Not like the right-left distinction matters, because many self-proclaimed leftists (Kautsky and such) held rather chauvinistic positions on matters of international policy, like prolonging the war for the interests of their own country instead of advocating international solidarity, so the whole distinction matters little in the context of class politics.

Yo Menti this comment is for you and I hope you read it. Midway through the video you talk about the argument that racism is based on systems of power and not on individual thoughts. I just wanted to point out that the people who say that don't actually believe it. If the majority of people in power were black and the majority of people in this country were black they would still say "black people good, white people bad" and I know this first hand. Around ten years ago in Baltimore the president was black, the mayor was black, the Cheif of police was black and the majority of people in Baltimore were black. The majority of rich people were black and the majority of poor people were black. Yet if you asked a Marxist if it was impossible for a white person to be racist in this city they would take exception and still say black people were oppressed and white people were oppressors. The argument of systems of power being a prerequisite for racism is just an excuse used to hold indefensibley racist views toward white people

My mother, who is white, was raised poor in a crumbling cabin in the woods of Florida with an abusive mother and no dad, with her mother having a constant carousel of boyfriends. My father, who is Congolese, immigrated to America in ‘87 and never looked back cuz he hated that place. He grew up in Kinshasa and there were days where he had no food. He was in a band where the leader stole and took credit for the music my father wrote, prompting him to eventually leave. He had to learn English on his own and faced hatred and discrimination. He lost everything in 9/11. Does it sound like I come from a background of privilege? Well I do, cuz my parents managed to turn their lives around. My family is still lower middle class and my life isn’t super easy, but going from nights where my father had nothing to consume but the very oxygen around him, and my mom living with neglectful and absent parents in the middle of bumble fuck nowhere, these are pretty good circumstances. Because this is what America is. This is the country where you can achieve what you put your mind to. The American dream isn’t false, people just need to make their dreams a reality. They need to stop dreaming, and actually wake up to manifest it

You know what I hate about peoppe who say that White Culture doesn't exist? They will go to places like my home countries of Puerto Rico and Mexico and then complain that nothing makes sense to them because cultural "it's so foreign." White culture does exist, White Culture founded my two favorite genres in the world High European Fantasy, and American Old West. Tolkein is white culture, Marty Robins is white culture. Comic Books, Movies, Video Games. There's thousands of examples of White Culture. What these leftoids don't understand is that White Culture, like many cultures, had great philosphers and thinkers who experienced a variety of cultures and shared the unqiue ideas that these cultures had. one culture gets successful results from certain traits (stage 1), other cultures started copying those successful traits from it (stage 2), and they become shared traits among various cultures (stage 3). its a natural thing. problem is when people like the ones who say that white culture doesn't exist basically look at stage 3 exclusively, see that various cultures share the same traits as the culture that created them, and then think that the culture that created those traits just has no culture of its own.

They dismiss its existance because they don't want it to exist. The Wild West and Cowboys are where American culture shines through the most -- self-reliant and confident, make your own life, American Dream, etc. Tolkien and Fantasy is where European culture shines through in a similar way. The left hates that, they cannot control it, and it served as an argument against their claims of needing massive systems of control. So, they refuse to recognise its existance so they don't have to justify trampling on it.

My favorite example of this was from ages ago when Wisecrack was a good channel. In their Earthling Cinema episode on Zootopia, they specifically used the word prejudice in their analysis. Many commenters were calling them out for not discussing the “obvious” racial analogies in the film. Their reply in short: There’s not enough actual differences between people of different races for that to be a solid point of the film. And that if you were to use the Herbivore/Carnivore dichotomy as a stand in for racial relations in the US. It’s very hamfisted and a self defeating film. Which brings me to my favorite use of “race” in media, superpowers=minorities. And everyone who is not super powered and is afraid of said supers is a fascist.

How I see it- what they call "white privilege" is nothing more than basic human rights- western (white) people have worked hard and fought hard to get where we are, and it's not a privilege that can be taken away, it's a right that all can have if they stand up for themselves. Much of it is simply about respect, if you give it you get it back

It's always rich when a leftist tries to complain about how Western culture associates the color white with positive traits and black with negative traits, when that kind of symbology is found universally among cultures on the planet. The reason why is simple. White is the color of pure light, and mankind likes pure light because it allows us to see and interact more effectively with the world around us, to see things in their most unfiltered form, whereas black is the color of darkness, both inconvenient to try to live in as well as dangerous given all the predatory animals that can use darkness to sneak up on and attack a person. Traditional Africans religious beliefs that predate colonialism, just for example, assert that albino animals are pure and full of magic (which is why some shamen in Africa today have gotten in the news for kidnapping and killing albino people to use their body parts for the medicines they brew or the charms/divination tools they use).

Yes, most of the statues that people want torn down are literally black because they're cast metal. The paint literally covers up the craftsmanship and it is NOT ancient artwork, it is modern speculation covering up ACTUAL artwork from the past. One important part of keeping statues unpainted is to avoid an "uncanny valley" effect where you get too close to being photorealistic without being all the way there. I've seen painted "death masks" and even though geometrically perfect recreations of the face they look wrong as the texture isn't perfect it triggers some instinct to fear of the unknown.
@youraveragesinner5474
@youraveragesinner5474 Год назад
these people (like mentioned) seem to have no understanding of arts and the steps it takes to create believable forms. See, nature doesn't create even coloration on the entire surface of the thing, which is why the painted sculptures look so unnatural- real skin is not one color- tans, discolouration, blood supply to the area all affect the final color we see. Not to mention that skin is translucent which means that it reflects light in a different way than marble. This is why in 3d modelling we don't just slap a flat color on a mesh, we need to create a texture for it and either manually paint it or use a ton of procedual generation to get the effect of the real thing. Same applies to fabric, hair, metal, anything you can think of irl will look off when translated unfaithfully into another medium. That's the uncanny valley and why the paintjob on the sculptures is ugly

The Problem that I have with the Concept of “White Privilege” is that I, as an Individual, have NEVER, even ONCE in my Entire Life, ASKED Other People to treat me with Privilege, neither because of my Racial Demographic Group Membership, nor for ANY Other Reason. So, if THEY, of their own Volition, CHOOSE to treat me with Privilege, because of some sort of Mandatory Unspoken Societal Expectation of treating White People with Privilege, then that is THEIR Problem, NOT mine. I would just like to be treated with politeness, friendliness, and/or kindness, because that is the Way that I try to treat Other People, even if they are a Perfect Stranger, and regardless of their Arbitrary Superficial Skin Pigmentation, which I consider to be meaningless, by Default, until they have given me a Reason to treat them differently.

This is really what opened my eyes towards the hypocrisy of leftist rhetoric. I'd always considered myself left-leaning when I was younger because I believe in things like lgbt rights and government assistance. They all seemed like pretty normal concepts to me, and one of the most consistent concepts I'd picked up was 'don't be racist, racism's bad yo.' which is also a very easy concept to understand because treat others as you want to be treated, etc. But then I joined a friend group with some very triggered people on it who were constantly going on about how racism is only bad when it's against oppressed groups, and racism against white people is fine actually. And that's when I realized these people were actually just not making any sense.
@vladprus4019
@vladprus4019 7 месяцев назад
Oh, they are making sense. You just cannot look at it from the liberal perspective. From their point of view, anyk social norm and value is nothing more than the result of the elites enforcing that the system that will put them on top would sustain itself on it's own. Therefore, any social norm widespread within society that problems needs to be flip on it's head in order to abolish those injustices. Again, basic problem is seeing that any societal issue is the result of one side winning some sort of zero sum game over the other. It's something that is common withing radical left and it's simmilar to the problems with international-relations rationalism or ethnic nationalism.
@poormanchemist

To say any group is worthy of discrimination is radical rhetoric, not leftist. Conservatives aren’t commonly aggressively homophobic or transphobic, but those on the far-right are. Leftists commonly aren’t against straight people or racist, but those on the far-left are. Even then, those beliefs aren’t exclusive but usually appear in those circles. What they all have in common is not knowing what they’re talking about. Regular leftism says something more like: “The generational oppression left over from racism effects minorities more commonly, or is viewed with more prejudice/stereotypes”. Personally, my view on that take is contingent on the environment I’m in. In the Deep South this is especially true, my own family members are casually and outwardly racist. However, if I were to travel back to Israel for deployment, then the aforementioned racism would have varying intensities on different groups. Hope this makes sense.

The problem with arguments *Against* racism is that they fail to account for the fact that humans learn through association, if you touch fire once and get burned you know that fire is hot and can hurt you. But fire is a 100% constant living organisms are less predictable. With animals, when you know how animal x and animal y are capable of behaving you're more likely to compose yourself a certain way around them, even if you know sharks may not be that harmful you're still going to be cautious because the chances aren't zero. Statistically when learning through association you pick various qualities a person possesses to make assumptions about groups, from their race to the way they talk to the the way they dress, even what food they like. If you meet (1) person from a certain race that was a shitty roommate and he's you're only experience with that race your innate survival instincts are going to tell you that all people of that race are like that because 100% of the people of that race you've had as roommates were like that. But if you have more roommates of that race you opinion begins to evolve as people of a certain race aren't all the same, so you find various qualities you like or don't like and make broader assumptions about that race. The simple fact is racism is justified from a statistical perspective, it's just when its negative traits being pointed out everyone loses their minds. If you were pointing out the high concentration of blacks in sports, no one would call that racism, if you were pointing out the high concentration of east Asians in math and technology, that's socially accepted too. But the moment you start pointing out negative traits that are common in various races you become "le ebil raysis". (I'm black btw, African too, a major outlier, but whatever).

I started looking through historic dictionaries up to the present and found that it completely changed about every 20 years! They have adopted "racial justice". If justice means people getting what they deserve, then what does "racial justice" mean? What does a particular race deserve?
@thegrimharvest
@thegrimharvest 9 месяцев назад
You're asking for objective answers from a political philosophy that by necessity makes everything objective into a subjective, so that they're never wrong, and so that there's always more "progress" that needs to be done to reach utopia. That then turns around and insists their new subjective "definition" is now an objective quality and must be treated as an objective quality. Until they change the definition again, and then it's once more subjective, and then yet again that "definiton" then becomes an objective standard. (A) becomes (B). (B) now is (A). Wind shifts directions. Then (A) becomes (C). (C) is now (A). Cycle repeats ad infinitum. (A) can and will be everything and nay eventually even be nothing, but it will never actually be (A) again. In this instance, you use their term "racial justice". To you and me, that concept should possess some objective measurable value. If (×), then (Y), at the most dumbest downed level of understanding. If (condition) is met, then (problem) is solved. But that's the rub. (×) and (Y) are not objective qualities under the actual underlying philosophy that spouts "racial justice" as a solution to social ills. Because however impossible or absurd the solution, however unlikely it's demands and requirements, there would (theoretically speaking) be a solution. That's bad for business. They don't actually want solutions or care about conditions. They just want to be right, and they just want you to be wrong. They win, you lose, appeal to authority to make it happen. An actual solution would remove one tool from their utility belt. One less shield to deflect criticism and one less cudgel to use to beat you for wrongthink. It would neccesarily result in one less underclass of forever dependent victims who would nolonger need to be saved by them and their appeal to (authority). Can't have that! That would mean there would also be one less demographic to use as propaganda pawns to point to and say "look at the suffering and injustices of (group)" We (you) have to make things more better, (you need to)give more money and power to (my chosen authority) so that they can fix the problem (by blaming you for creating it, them never actually solving it, and then blaming you for that failure as well) Fully aware that the problem will never be solved and that they don't actually want or need it to be solved, they simply want to present themselves as if they actually care and so they can look moral to the untrained eye and feel superior. What do you mean you disagree with that premise? Why do you hate (group) and want them to suffer injustices? You're a bad person! You're why (group) can't have nice things! Ad hominem strawman attack. Ad hominem strawman attack. Imply secret harboring of istaphobia and attempt to publicly shame and humiliate you for expressing dissenting opinions or thinking for yourself. If that fails appeal to authority and demand that you be removed from the conversation, your piece be removed from the game board, and your voice be censored if not outright silenced. If that fails, appeal to greater authority and repeat demands. If authority fails to deliver, use threats, intimidation and coercion, first subtle, then overt. If target persists, call for fanatical members to "do what needs to be done" to be rid of you. "For the greater good". That's how their "racial justice" will work. The same way as all their (×)justice works. It mostly doesn't, and it's not a bug, it's an intended feature. Because it's not about justice, it's about (×). Whatever subjective that might be in current moment. Any descriptor or label or limiting factor put in front of "justice" by definition changes the meaning of "justice" into "justice (but only for group/identity)". Because their only real offered solution to any injustice or problem is not to end injustice or fix the problem itself, but simply change who decides who gets the shortest stick drawn for them. And then what happens to the ones who have their shortest stick drawn for them. Today maybe it's one group, tomorrow it'll be a different one. Its all about perpetuating the same thing they claim to be against while pretending they're not doing it and it's good when they do. Because they care and are morally better than us wrongthinkers. Always.

You’re giving vaush too much credit in this video. He isn’t stupidly ignoring the other person’s argument and he’s not making logical errors, he’s lying. It’s not an accident when he is illogical in the examples you showed, because it was done purposefully to deceive.

If those statues where pure black like most confederate war memorials are, the effect would be LITTERALLY the same. Its a singular plain color because it looks good. If the greeks had the machining process we do now, that statue wouldv prolly be made out of pure stainless steel

A bit late to the party, but thank you for your video! I know we would disagree on a lot of ideas, things, and political points, but at least I know we can agree on why we dislike many aspects of the modern Left.

Everyone is racist, everyone discriminates in every action they take, in every person they interact with, based on all the information they have available, including race. It is logical for survival. It has nothing to do with overgeneralizing or hating people.

the fact that a substantial portion of the current adult population needs a video explaining why racism is bad is, unfortunate.

It always baffles me how Vaush can treat a video like a live conversation and be surprised when the prerecorded message doesn’t actually answer his questions.

I would sort of dispute generalisations, for some jobs like say being a politician, one has to treat individuals as part of a group for practical reasons, on Asians, rip them, those kids may suffer their childhood for absolutely nothing.

Any discrimination for an individual is necessarily discrimination against. Thus undermining the very idea that affirmative action and other positive discrimination schemas are not racist. They necessarily are in the very assumption that those races need or deserve assistance. See the bigotry of low expectations.

29:00 WESTERN CULTURE??? Bruh Im litterally Sinhalese and Buddhist. We wear white to the temple because the Buddha taught us that plain utilitarian clothing is best, as you wont have much attachment towards your looks. We litterally view the color white as great, as its a very simple and plain color. Alot of cultures view it as "purity". "White people" are not actually white. Their pale or tanned a bit. Im not sure what tier of brainrot people have thinking that white supremacy somehow is rooted in statues of highly tanned people (romans) being white.

Hassan’s argument is basically this: Tom Brady helped the patriots win numerous Super Bowls. Therefore, if I play QB for the patriots, I will also win multiple super bowls. He’s assuming the end result has more to do with the system than the persons performance.

your people as in "direct family and friends" meaning the social circle consisting of no more than 150 people that any human being realistically has the time, the ability to remember, and the capacity to bond with in any significant way, i find it difficult to give a shit about anyone beyond that group, like the separation of professional and personal relationships ill go to a friend's barbecue, because i know people there. i wont go to a random on the street's barbecue because that involves "getting to know" a bunch of people, or standing around awkwardly and eating food made by strangers. personally im all friended up, the majority of people bore the shit out of me anyway, i have a group of people i selected as my friends because everyone else sucks lol, no sharon from best buy, i dont care about and will not remember any of the people i throw a half hearted greeting towards that you introduce me to at the barbecue.
