I feel like they’re perfect, and it’s mainly because they’re not great at everything by default. That would mean that anybody could pick them up and use them to their full potential without learning any of its attack types, whereas how it currently is, makes the user have to know how to use bludgeoning weapons, great stabbing weapons, great slashing, weapons, great and flexible weapons greator they can’t use that in the first place.
If I see a 7'8" buff dude with chains around his forearms each connected to those blades, I wouldn't think, "Yea, Jack of all trades master of none, lol."
@@gamingdemon1235it's not often and there's also a saying that counters it "I would not fear the man who practiced a 1000 kicks but a man who practiced one kick a 1000 times"
@@gageunruh3574 i mean if a person has practiced that kick a thousand times, you think he'd be able to properly time the kick so that it hits every time
I understand what you mean, and totally agree, but a little non related funfact: The saying "Jack of All Trades, master of none" actually continues saying:"But still better than the Master of One"
Also let's not forget that if you did have them and use them you would not know how to control the fire it's not like it comes with instructions so you would probably end up starting a wildfire or worse
@@magnesium_mg0man the fire ain't even the worst part, without some manner of magic to guide the blade using the chain is more dangerous to yourself than it is to your opponent, and don't even get me started on edge alignment with the chain...
@@AintNoWayItsYoshiiIn Musashi's "Book of Five Rings" he talks about simply mastering the way of the warrior is not sufficient. "A warrior should rule his house the same as he commands his troops. The way of the sculptor is as important as the way of the artisan and vice versa." (Im paraphrasing but its words to that effect.) Drawing wisdom from one source is narrow and limited. One should draw wisdom from many sources.
I think the biggest pro is that they are indeed Kratos' signature weapon. No one else has them, and no one else can wield them. They were crafted uniquely for him
@@2ndeaster it's not that, it's the eternal reminder of your deal with Ares that gave you the blades in the first place, forever burned into your skin to make the reminder more affective
Other flaws, spikes pointed at hands, impractical blade dimensions such as the spike midway through the blades cutting edge, and the chains themselves in the game version, where they're not connected, meaning you're expected to throw these, despite it essentially being weighted like a bad axe, and pulling thrown heavy weapons back being impractical. Really, outside the top part being good for piercing armor, these blades need a complete rework, and the chains need to be connected. They need a good guard for not harming the user, and straighter blades in general.
@@ScenicFights they're some of my favorite weapons, but I know full well I'd never use them in the field. Another such weapons like 99% of key blades. Unless they do shoot the magics in game, then it's like why wouldn't I? Access to healing in this economy? And from everything, easy sell.
@@elpogio4890it's also important to note that they're technically also sorta meant to be a torture device for Kratos. Even with mystical improvement, they probably suck to use and take skill and energy to use properly.
@@randomgamer625 not exactly the leviathan axe was designed to be a throwing weapon given how the profile of the handle is shaped and the Axe head looks very forward heavy meaning once you swing it in one direction you can't change direction as you would with other kinds of battle axes that are more balanced unless your Kratos
@@Exo49rthat's actually cool insight.you an axe guy???coz I got a character with an axe and I wanna create a martial arts specific to him and it's refreshing to hear someone talk about axes like this and their usage according to design
It's a great weapon... until you come across someone with any kind of remotely flowing clothing that the blade will invariably get caught in at the first opportunity.
There is a variable you may be forgetting.. Through either the gods, or video game logic, said blades are indestructible, meaning they will never wear, rust, dull, chip, bend or break.. With that in mind, what you are now holding, suddenly has FAR greater potential as basically any form of weapon. This is why samurai swords carry such respect.. A simple edged weapon becomes so much more deadly, the sturdier/durable it is.
The BOC were and still are probably the most reliable weapon in game history. It's so versatile and rlly well balanced, yeah it doesn't do one thing better than the other, but that's because sacrifices had to be made in order for a perfect balance.
There are two other cons that cons that come to mind 1-Edge alignment: It’s hard to retain edge alignment with a weapon that is thrown or connected to a chain that is being flung which would lead to poorer cuts as the blade wouldn’t distribute all of the applied force. 2-Force retention: The longer the chain is used to sling them the less kinetic energy actually is retained in the end of the blade to inflict any meaningful damage.
Its also pretty hard to make the blades aligned to make a precise cut when throwing then with the chains like kratos does, so you definitely would need some divine magic of hitting precision or smth
No, his fly is not open, u must have confused the stitching lines on his jeans with the left side of a zipper line. And I can see the zipper head and right side zipper line which looks like it's made of brass or some other metal.
That's also why it's so good too because you can change from one move to another and adapt those techniques into one type of technique so that it's not just four types, it's one type. It's a technique weapon
I think the greatest con of the Blades is that, much like many sickle user in fiction, their chains can both extend and retract like Kratos has a little motor near his wrists that can automatically launch and reel in the Blades.
Does the pros and cons are the same to Tengen Uzui Nichirin Cleaver Sword, though they use very similar but the blade structure itself is different so maybe they're some slight different pros and cons
