lil Wayne doesn't get enough credit people view him as a rapper that always talk about sex but he always has clever lines and lyrics his top 5 for me🐐🐐
Thanks and I saw that incident. I agree with both ends, Vic Mensa is right using Chicago violence as a way to gain popularity and revenue isn't right but then again Akademiks isn't promoting the violence and say it's the right thing to do. I prefer not to use that method of gaining an audience, only if it's something small. I prefer to make videos like these and educate while reviewing dope things in Hip-Hop to build. But, that's my 2 cents on it.
Diverse Mentality from 05 - 2012 Wayne was running this shit with 3 other rappers Wayne Em and Jay z, Wayne Kanye and drake, or Wayne drake and nicki that's 7 years of being in the top 3 of rapper they Goin respect wayne
For fucking real man. These comments are wack as fuck. Tune been the GOAT since the '90s. Still going HARD in 2018. Lets see the mumble rappers do that. Lots of these guys commenting are fools
its like with jay, kanye and also lil wayne- their old shit when they first started was fire. now its mostly shit and we got more kids in hip hop than ever and they only know the shit music. no future without the past tho, gotta pay respect ( and still listen to cuz most nowadays is worse)
Veda Vyas whey u thank DRAKE/NICKI got it 4rum FA EVER B THA BES RAPPER ALIVE no new rapper go fuk wit dat u got 2 pass tha folks b4 2 even get 2 dem GR8 1s
@@simsim2159 man.. ransom ft drake, ANY FEATURE he did this year, Hustla Muzik, Sky is the limit, MR.Carter ft jay Z, whole no ceilings 1 and 2 .. and i can keep going
There would be NO migos, Future, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Kendrick Lamar, 2Chainz & Asap Rocky if there wasn't Lil Wayne Lil Wayne= legend. icon. myth. GOAT
Wayne was on top from 2004-2012. He had a prolific run releasing albums, mixtapes and collaborating with other artists. He literally was the most popular and busiest rapper during that time. He formed Young Money, which gave us more quality music. The music shifted from fairly simple beats to ambiance/electronica within 4-5 years.
Said perfectly bro. Also think about this, if you only take other peoples songs hes been featured on that is more impressive than alotta peoples whole career. There was a span where everyone wanted a feature with wayne cuz they knew there song would reach alot more people just cuz it say ft. Lil wayne.
I live in Germany and back in 2007 there wasn't a lot of rap music from the U.S. around here. But even I (as a 10 yo kid) was listening a lot to Wayne's music at this time. Because as you said, he was like everywhere. Even if you're wasn't listening to hip hop you knew him. Gotta pay him respect for that
@@sonusah9681 Birdman is Lil Wayne's "Daddy". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_81U4ngh4tc.html The rapper who discovered Lil Wayne and took him under his wing at an early age. Birdman made YCMB (Young Money Cash Money Billionaires) a combination of the former's "Cash Money" and Lil Wayne's Young Money
Wayne is my favorite rapper ever along with Pac and DMX... i can't believe how much slander Wayne gets from the new generation when he literally was all their favorite rappers listened to at one point.. they'll never understand how much Great songs Wayne gave for free! it's like we owed him to buy his albums lol
That's why he sold the insane amount that he did for C3. He gave people FREE quality content and at a consistent basis, so it was only right that we bought the album lol.
Yall sleep on wayne too much , sorry 4 the wait 2, free wezzy album , dedication 5 and no ceilings 2 are great new wayne projects and not to mention his features, he just made chance win a grammy for his song no problem, even thoe he ain't in his zone because of the shit going on he still has out of this world talent to create great music, forever a legend Free C5
Monroy J he is definitely the reason why Chance is popping out here if it wasn't for Wayne what people really be listening to change the rapper as much as they are now why is the ultimate life changing in the rap industry he has helped a lot of artists give their careers on track
No one sleeps on those projects, NC2 Is horrible, SFTW2 and D5 are mediocre, but FWA is good and is slept on. But you should really be listening to his old stuff, D2, Drought 3, Sqad Up, Suffix, Drought is Over series...
Wayne’s run from 04-11 (peaking at 07-09) was like nothing we’ve ever seen in rap. From the mixtapes, albums, hundreds of features, and crazy unreleased songs... bruh 🔥🐐🐐
mrmoney6767 these nigga be slow out her wayne is the real y 95% of the new rappers don't work 9-5 he save these nights lives and the need 2 know and respect that shit the first mumble rap song ever made was Lollipop cater 3 shit if wasn't for that song none of these new niggas would exist
Lil wayne is one of the Greatest. Im definitely inspired by the hard work he gave us, being consistent at its best. Like theirs only one Michael Jordan, theirs only one Lil Wayne
Wayne widened rap's reach......by jumping on pop songs, rock songs, and other genres. Plus, his skateboarding and rock star image attracted a new group of fans.....that Uzi, ski mask, Trippie redd, etc capitalize on today He brought a lot of new fans, a sea of white people to hip hop.
man yall better stop playin wayne run was from 03/04-2017 and he the reason yall favorite rappers got dreads, rappin on autotune, skinny jean, alot of those rap styles
God I'm not saying wayne is trash im just saying he's not as big as he used to be in 2008 alot of people was calling him the best rapper alive IMO I don't think wayne is all that good but like I said I'll give him props he did his thing and sold alot!!!! of records he was very very successful in hip-hop
It was revealed that Birdman had bought albums of C4 to make sure it sells a milli first week to keep up hype for Tha Carter series. From 2006 to 2009 was definitely when Wayne had everything on lock, when 2010 came around a lot of the new cats such as Drake, Cole, Kendrick, Cudi and more were looked at more.
I think Wayne can definitely can create an amazing album again, but like you said he's kind of recycling stuff I don't want to hear from him. But I swear every time I watch your videos I understand more things about that particular artist, in this case Wayne's perspective. Great video once again!
I fee he can make a great album still as well.. I feel like it's just his delivery that kind of gets in the way of the content. If you listen to his old stuff he was so effortless & smooth but spazzing at the same time. But now I feel his energy is just different, his whole delivery is different. At the same time, if you listen to the content of his music now versus the content he had back then, in my opinion I'd say he comes in with some way crazier bars & his songs are more filled with bars than they've ever been. Songs like M's Remix, E.T with B.o.B, & there's deff a few more that have come out in the past year that I can't remember lol.
Didn't wiz khalifa become bigger feature then Wayne ?.. I love Wayne so much but the fact is everyone ignore wiz khalifa he's influenced a lot on today's rap game and he still makes more money then most of the rappers today..
Yeah you deserve a sub after this. I like how you mentioned how he made 1,000 songs in that one year. I don't know anyone personally that had been a big enough Wayne fan to have known that. Nice work.
Wayne still have the impact only different people just can’t look at him the same because of his hair if Wayne dreads was still the same from back then trust me wayne still have a strong impact on hip hop no doubt because wayne still have bars 🔥🔥🔥for days and people still like to hear 👂 them bars definitely on beats like no ceilings and da drought
2004 Lil Wayne took his talent to a whole nother level and grabbed hip hop around the neck at that time and held it for over 7 years straight until opening the door for Nicki and Drake to come in and become superstars, I appreciate you putting out facts for the world in this content.
Wayne sold a million in the first week of Tha Carter 3 and 900k in the first week of Tha Cater 4. Wayne's work ethic was insane. Another thing that nobody talks about is that Wayne controlled the Hip Hop game when a lot of rappers were still in their prime. Em, Luda, Game, 50, Jay etc
Lil wayne started everything the name Lil he started it now you hear lil pump lil uzi lil yatchy he made dreads cool for hip hop the skinny jeans and the lean the grillz and he started remixing hit songs and made it better he also started face tatto the whole cashmoney shit since the 90's like at 1 point everybody wanted to be lil wayne
@@positivelypluto bro the word “lil” always been a big thing in the hip hop commmunity , “lil” is like u small but hold a lot of weight kinda like a frenchie, they small but there name holds hella weight who doesnt want a frenchie
Yeah Wayne's run was way longer than 07-09. I mean when did right above it come out? I could be wrong bout that particular track I'm jus sayin he was still poppin heavy far past 09. N when carter 5 drop niggas jaws gon drop!!
There's never been an artist with such impact than weezy...as far as it goes with longevity, sales, lyrical ability, trials, trends, genre swap, having an ear for talent, going thru beefs with other artists, holding his own on tracks with other lyrical monsters, fashion, making it thru about 5-6 different eras of hip hop, working with some of the greatest hip hop groups and producers, destroying features, but also taking a back seat to let other artists shine, workin wit known and unknown artist. Constant versatility, endorsements, and mixtape galore, wit a major obvious influence on our culture, he has dominated every possible avenue of hip hop. From mixtapes, to albums to features he's been in it and ruled it, boosting his star status from national to international star status level.....hes the greatest. Remember he started out as a kid, we watch him grow up on tv, Take a trip to China and ask about lil wayne I bet they'll know him. Weezy F the greatest to ever do it. Hands down. 👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾👍🏾
Good video! Wayne’s run between 06-09 absolutely solidified his status in the game. That Dr.Carter track is legendary when you consider its implications and how C3 affected the industry. There were times in the past few years where it seemed that Wayne lost his desire to rap, or maybe he just got bored with the game overall (perhaps due to the whole label situation), but D6 definitely showed me that he hasn’t lost a step.
Wayne was just a cool muthafucka man. He gave us A LOT of music man my head was spinning back in the day so much content. I got a lot of love for Wayne
if you remember when "Soldier" dropped That was a spark that made peoples ears perk up over Lil Wayne. If you dont see me on the block i aint tryin to hide i blend in with the hood im camoflauged bandana tied so mama join my troop now everytime she hear my name she salute It was all down hill from there and everything i heard from Wayne sounded Golden to my ears. The same way Eminem and then 50 did. There were other artists in between poppin off but never stayed relevant. During Waynes run Kanye lit my ears on fire with 808s and heartbreaks. both artists helped me get through life and a rough breakup during the time. lil Wayne gave me life back and Kanye nurtured my heartbreak then Drake came and helped me rebuild myself. im waiting for the next Neo to take over the pinnacle void in music right now.
Whether you like Wayne or not, his influence over rap is seen more now than ever before. Wayne gave the blueprint for what EVERY young rapper is trying to do now. Because now everybody has face tats, dreads, and a double cup. The game wasnt like that before Wayne. All these kids are wannabe carbon-copies of Lil Wayne, whether you haters agree or not.
WAYNE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST !!!! CAN'T NO ONE EVER COMPARE TO HIM! SALUTE💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 PAY MY MAN AND GIVE HIM THE RIGHTS TO ALL HIS MUSIC 🎶 AND LET HIM RELEASE THE CARTER 5!!!!!!!!!!! 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐 LEGEND!!!!!! 💯💯💯💯💯💯
Wayne’s run was from 04-2011-2012. It slowed down after Carter 4. His catalog, flow, lyrics, stage presence, longevity is top tier. I’m 25, he’s easily in my Top5 artist ever. His work ethic was impeccable.
He started the lip rings the dreads the tattoos mumble rap auto tune EVERYTHING he popularized lean everything the new rap era does Lil Uzi the new Lil Wayne he the new rap era Lil Wayne and they need to do a whole album together
So crazy to think I’m 32 now and I still Listen to Wayne since I was 14 !! Lol bling bling type songs Hot boys !! His raps are timeless Love or deny him u can’t say the man is the hip hop culture ! He been there for over 15 years threw the old heads and youngins .
i think he will come back for sure and actually i feel like he is laying low on purpose until he can flood the market with content again but he cant right now
Apart from 2001 (and late 90' s) Wayne has put out atleast 2 or 3 projects a year, that's ridiculous considering his first album was 1995 (with B.G.)... Waynes influence goes beyond just releasing loads of songs you have to remember Wayne had to compete with the biggest and the best back then to get noticed and when the time came he took it and ran with it. Also being from the South you're already handicapped from the start. In hip hop back in the day the south wasn't getting any love. Wayne and people like Outkast really showed the south could get lyrical, not to mention there's still songs out there the most hardcore Wayne fans aint heard lol
bro think if Wayne in his prime was in the streaming era smh. Dude would have shitted on EVERYBODY. That's how Drake be getting them numbers of streams even though he got that machine behind him cheating
I'm glad you pointed out the negative.. there are a lot of music just getting released that's poop. And I can definitely say I've always been different in the way I dressed and being an African American i was "supposed" to dress a certain way. It was "unacceptable" or weird and people just looked down on me for dressing how I liked to. Nowadays people see it in the media and it's the cool thing to do and I was just glad to someone in the Industry (public eye) just be different and weird.
Wayne ran this shit from 2002-2013 yes I say 2013 cause he was still above your fav rapper , he also still got hits and get called on everyone's remix if it wasn't for Wayne ,Young thug and all your new what ever goats you call wouldn't have a chance , Wayne did this for us ,he still got huge cult following, he discovered and or put on more talent than you can think of Wayne did his thing and still doing his thing, respect him and his brand only thing he fucked up was he was just the artist not the man who payed attention to his finances and even now he still drops fire here and there
