Yep gentle sound from my headphones or speaker is a good static noise I mainly listen to Japanese lofi to combat my insomnia or just to hear something else than the world around me now I’m going back to my playlist to shut the world up
I mean chilled cow is stealing the show ATM but i really appreciate this kind of music, it came out of nowhere and yet really popular and great for relaxing and everything
@@gamebotpocket well here its like oof. First its sunny and warm and then it snows then there is loud af thunder and heavy rain and the circle continues(all in a span of 3h)
"Listening to the same beat over and over again can get annoying" Me: *walks into store during Christmas* Store Radio: *aLl I wANt fOR ChRIstMaS Is Yooooouuuu!*
In middle school we were forced to sing it in front of the whole school, and we had to practice and listen to it on repeat for God knows how many times. My best friend thinks of it as literally Satan work now lol
You described lo-fi hip hop perfectly. It’s nostalgia for something that never happened and what the future has yet to reveal. At least, that’s what it is to me.
Not all lofi is just vocal/lyric free music there's alot of artists who use lofi beats and sampling along with their vocals to make a good songs, good artist examples of this are: Sadboyprolifc, Powfu, and Shiloh Dynasty. Those are a few that I listen to
I'm the type to hyper-focus on songs when I listen to them so the looping beats drive me insane after a while, I still appreciate the style though and I can see why people like it
I get the same lroblem. That's why you need to find specific artists with lots of good tunes that are just the right length, over repetition is a mistake a lot of new lofi artist make, so not every lofi compilation is the best since they kinds use everything they can find.
Its nice that lofi is envolving in a way like look at artist like kainbeats, hevi, engelwood, dominant, idealism, saib, liphe, lindecis, and jinsang they have completely turned lofi into something new its awesome
What I love about your channel is that it's so unique from everything else on youtube, there's nothing like the vibe I'm getting from your vids. I could binge watch these for a whole day, and then the day after i'd think about life. Its just something about your videos that give off such a vibe and I love it, keep it up.
i agree , lo-fi is like a window. it creates this separation between whatever you're going through at the moment. on the other side of the window is the world, in constant flux in sometimes in our lives we get cought by that current and its feels almost impossible to get out of stress, change or monotony of it all but then , on your side you can step back free your mind and just watch the world and take a moment to breathe. it gives the same feeling as the famous "earthrise" photo in my opinion.
Wth this guy only has 600k subs. He deserves so much more, he puts research more into a video in a week than I can every for a school project :/. For real though everytime I watch one of this guys videos it's so immersive he can talk about literally anything and I will just want to know more and more. Keep up the good work, post whatever you want on either of your channels just know that ill be here supporting you through it all. Can't wait to watch you grow not only with this channel but your secound channel too. :)
Hi, I’m 15 years old. Your channel is my favorite, these videos are so interesting for someone who doesn’t have a friend to talk about all of the facts and everything. Ty ❤
Yes, I have nostalgia on lofi hip hop. The nostalgia is feel like I was looking at the sea with moon light on it. It's fell like 1970s,80s,90s. But I was born on 2006 so that weird.
My friend, take as much time as you want to make videos, they are absolutely amazing and I am glad you growing bigger every day. I love your voice and your videos are extraordinarily interesting! Keep it up
I like lo-fi videos because of the comments. Some people there are just stress, overwhelmed by something or down right depressed and they really don't want to share their story and feeling to people even close one but they do open in the comments section in lo-fi videos. And usually the result is that they received a tons of love from other people and telling them that they also have experienced the same things and that it will be alright in the end. It basically kinda like a free therapy section. You tell them your story, they listen and give advices and try to relate to that person as much as possible.
Lofi is the reason I’m watching you right now. I was studying and doing homework and one of your videos popped up and I clicked on it and I loved your calm voice, interesting subjects, and the thing that stuck out to me the most was the music. And now I’ve been listening to them for the past 3 hours and I’ve enjoyed all of it
Lofi Is just all around great to listen to, it's like background music for any occasion. Some of my favorites are: -Your favourite place -a day in the life -I'm tired of feeling this way -5:32 pm -thinking of you And many others.
I hate how the lofi community is just filled with depression now, can’t we take it back to when it was to chill and vibe when jamming with a few friends? I get this music helps a lot of people but the comment sections of lofi songs just kind of make it too much in my opinion, guess I just miss some of the old days :>
Haha, I was listening to music at the airport because I was pretty stressed (I was with my uncle) and my uncle asked me what I was listening to. I told him I was listening to imagination, Lofi version. Know we listen to it every-time we see each other. So you were right about lofi doesn’t have a specific age group.
Your narration is great, the video editing perfect and the passion you put in every single video is breathtaking. Dude you deserved a much larger audience than you have right now.
I turned to lo-fi hip-hop music because I had enough of the decreasing quality of pop music. Contemporary modern pop is all about love, mainstream hi-fi hip-hop is all about being a gangster and I hate the reggaeton Daddy Yankee is trying to shove down my throat. This is why I started looking for alternative music genres. My big introduction to alternative music (mainly the genres of new wave) were meme clips and edits of vaporwave music. This was at around 2016, when I still thought as an idiotic teenager that dupstep is alternative music because it sounds different compared to mainstream pop and hip-hop music. The song that always got referenced was Lisa Frank 420/Modern Computing by the talented vaporwave musician MACINTOSH PLUS. Her music got me hooked into meme music culture, but I only started listening to vaporwave in a more serious manner at around late 2018, when I saw Vinesauce Joel's livestream about a fanmade sequel of the obscure PS1 runner game 'Pepsi-Man', called 'Pepsi-Man: The Forbidden Drink'. It was a fun game and it used vaporwave edits of popular '80s and '90s pop songs (you know, songs from the time pop music was still good), but one specific song really got me hooked into vaporwave; it was a vaporwave edit of the song Music in the Night, the original song originating from the band Solid Strangers. This vaporwave edit extraordinarily sounded good and I just wanted more out of this style. I searched for more vaporwave music on RU-vid, then one day, RU-vid autoplayed a song from the future funk and lo-fi hip-hop music label Artzie Music called So 1989 by Yuni Wa. It was future funk music, a more upbeat and catchy subgenre of vaporwave, trying to capture the essence of '70s and '80s disco music and french house while mixing it up with '80s Japanese city pop samples and anime GIFs. Basically the sound of modern pop music that has never come into fruition, or modern pop music from a different, better timeline. Then the magical moment came and I started listening to one of my first lo-fi hip-hop experiences ever, Summer from the lo-fi hip-hop musician Vanilla. It also got me hooked and I was craving for more, so I created a playlist called "The dankest dankwave EVER", featuring future funk and lo-fi hip-hop songs. Yes, I referred to both future funk and lo-fi hip-hop as vaporwave music, specifically meme vaporwave (aka. dankwave or vapormeme) used in music-based memes and Leafy-styled commentary videos, even though it's technically not correct in regards to lo-fi hip-hop. Then I discovered that these types of music have their own genre names so I started referring to them with their correct names (you know, future funk and lo-fi hip-hop). I then discovered synthwave, the music genre that gradually evolved from synthpop into its own, self-contained piece of art about cramming the premise of the 1980s action movie vision of the far future into musical chords. Then I discovered the parent genre of both of them, chillwave. Then after watching a lot of LGR videos and some gritty stuff from PHub, I finally fell in love with smooth jazz. Lo-fi hip-hop gives me the chills... I mean, synthwave, vaporwave, their parent genre, chillwave (also referred to as hypnogogic pop) and smooth jazz also gives me the chills, but all of these genres take a different approach of how they achieve calming atmosphere. Synthwave gives us the optimistic hope of a technologically advanced cyberpunk utopia, thus making us feel relieved and calm. Vaporwave, on the other hand, gives us the illusion of a successful capitalistic present filled with interesting technology around us. A present that never happened and it never will, from the perspective of the future. A technologically more advanced version of the '80s and '90s, a simpler present where technology and humans are in harmony with each other. Chillwave also tries to convey us into the illusion of a better present, combined with the elements of outrun/synthwave. Lo-fi hip-hop tries to chill you out by giving you the smallest pieces of joy in life and making you calm. Smooth jazz focuses on social life, hanging out with friends in fancy restaurants, enjoying the music that they play there and tickles your romantic feelings about the opposite gender. This joyful and romantic approach then leaves you with tranquility, peace and if you have a crush on someone, you then would probably like to talk to him/her. And this is the present. I only listen to four new wave/alternative music genres and to a calm serious music genre (smooth jazz) nowadays. I don't need mainstream music anymore because I heard better. I don't need a random set of notes arranged into a song that tells nothing because I heard music that evokes feelings and it's food for your thoughts. When I only knew about mainstream music, I hated listening to music, but now, I love the genres I'm listening to. Lo-fi hip-hop, vaporwave, synthwave, chillwave and smooth jazz has strongly connected me to music, and I'll never forget it. Lo-fi hip-hop, vaporwave, synthwave, chillwave and smooth jazz gives me the chills.
I remember find out lofi music when I was searching for some music to help me focus on whilst I did my coursework at university, back in 2013/2014. Since then, Ive just been going down the rabbit hole of the lofi music genre.
I just found this genre like 10 mins ago and I feel like I just found myself. I’m going through a lot right now and this type of music just kicks me back and helps me stay in the moment
I remember my first time i started listening to lo-fi, it was a rainy day in october of 2015 and i got an F in school, came back home, turned on youtube and it just popped up in my recommended.. From that day forward, i listen to this music everyday, It got me through the toughest of times, when my mom died, i locked myself in my room and i just turned it on, and vibed for days and days, its such a great feeling listening to this genre..
I guess lo-fi is so popular because it somehow does not take us anywhere..except the present..it's distracting enough to take you out of your mind and thoughts but not distracting enough to take you away from what you are doing right now..it is the power of the NOW lol..just my thoughts tho xD OKAY going try making some lo-fi beats now x)
Lo-fi is just a surreal feeling. Like the calmness of the song but then imagining yourself just chillin and relaxing. And some songs have lyrics but edited like reverb or something. And the genre is filled with different artist with different styles, yet they all sound the same. The snares, the synth sometimes and very other few instruments. And somehow there is genres inside genres. Rain ambience, the backround video, and not really lo-fi but still lo-fi. And if you are listening to some lofi for a while you fall into a trance, just fully calmed out all your worries just wash away while the girl just writes some words, flips the page and so on. Once you fall into the trance, the only escape is hunger, pee, thirst or some outside voice calling you. But it is easy to get back. Lo-fi is amazing. And that's all I have to say about it. Woah I wrote a lot.
Aperture, can you make a video talking about your favorite things, anime, movies, no weird stuff, I rlly like learning abt what my favorite youtuber a favorite things are
holy wow this is rlly deep everyone’s explanation for lofi is so deep and for me it’s just: music i put on while im studying because it makes me feel uncomfortable when it’s completely silent on the house lol
Yo bro you are awesome. I have seen everyone of your videos and they are all some of the best sciency and creative videos that I have ever seen. Keep up the good work and never stop
To anyone who comes across this, in the sea of comments, I would like to share what I use lofi for. When I listen to that track, it gives me one memory that has yet to come (has someone had said in the comments.) I see myself, in either a cool, cloudy light drizzle or a sunset, on an apartment building overlooking a small city. I have a girlfriend/wife or just S.O, (for a non gender conforming person) with me, sipping a hot drink. We have a cat/kitten somewhere in the picture, either laying on the porch or on their lap. Lofi plays in the background. This feels like home, and peace. Its something that I can go to in places of depression, loneliness, or when I have nothing to keep me going. I feel like this could happen one day for me, and when something like it does, I'll find a lofi station, and reflect, I have freedom, love, and tranquility, all there on that porch. I do feel like that day will come, no clue when, but I just hope it comes. When it does, i'll update this comment if I can. To show that I made it, to anyone who wants to know. Thank you for reading
You seem to be a calm and quiet person. I like that. for the second channel, I would say talking about personal experiences and playing some games is really great.
I grew up listening to Repetitive beats. Being introduced to EDM when I was only 8 years old back in 2004.. so in high school 2010 I started to discover more. I fell into Glitch-Hop/Instrumental music so that lead me into Lofi as well. This will always hold something in my heart
Every day, on the train and subway. I'm acompanied by Lofi Hip-Hop. It's perhaps when I'm most calm and chill during my day. There's something there that other genres don't/can't achieve. Glad you made this video.
