How long does it take to get a Schengen visa? The Schengen visa is the most common visa for Europe. It enables its holder to enter, freely travel within, and leave the Schengen zone from any of the Schengen member countries. There are no border controls within the Schengen Zone. If you’re wondering how long does it take to get a Schengen visa approved, here’s all you need to know.
Is There a Recommended Time to Begin the Schengen Visa Application Process?
Finding out when you may begin applying for a Schengen Visa is crucial. Schengen visa applications should be submitted about three months before to the applicant's departure date. Get going as soon as you can; that's our suggestion. You'll have plenty of time to apply for and get your Schengen visa in this manner. If you want to apply for a Schengen visa the old fashioned manner, you'll need to:
First step: Gathering Necessary Paperwork
Second step: Complete the Schengen Visa application.
Third step: Appointment Setting at the Embassy
Fourth step: Show up for your scheduled appointment and hand them your biometric information.
Fifth step: Fork over the cash for your visa.
Sixth step: Await word from the Embassy
If you get the ball rolling on your application right away, you'll have plenty of time to complete each of these measures. What's more, you'll have sufficient time to respond to any unanticipated developments.
The timing of your trip to the Schengen Zone is the following factor to think about. The number of Schengen Visa requests received by embassies often increases over the Christmas season. In contrast, there will be a lower interest for Schengen Visas outside of peak travel times. This reduces the amount of visa applications embassies must handle.
How Long does it take to Get a Schengen Visa? The timeframe.
There is a minimum waiting period of 15 days for a Schengen Visa, but this time frame can vary from case to case. It may take up to 30 days for an embassy to complete a visa, and up to 60 days for a Schengen Visa in exceptional situations.
Generally speaking, you can expect a lengthier waiting period for your Schengen Visa if you consider your visa request is more difficult, for example if you have been needed to provide a large number of supplementary papers for authorities to authenticate in connection to your employment or studies.
Even if you are going as a group, such as a family or a group of friends, each individual visa application must be completed separately. You may experience a minor delay in processing your visa application if you submit multiple applications at once. Among them are some of these:
 Threat of political turmoil in the Schengen nation you want to visit
 There are new visa regulations in effect.
 What effect, if any, recent political developments in the nation you want to visit may have on your trip
 Prohibitions on Movement
 Unanticipated demand in Schengen Visas
Conclusion:
It takes 15 days to process a Schengen visa. After 15 days, the embassy gives a decision on the Schengen visa application. However, Schengen visa processing time may vary in some specific situations. In individual cases, the visa processing time may be extended to 30 days after the interview, or in some very specific situations to 60 days.

Thanks for making useful video. Have few questions. My flight is on 16th June, and after trying so many times I got an appointment on 29th May at Toronto location. Will I get my passport before that? If not, do you know any other way? Also biometric will take on the appointment day at the same office? OR need to schedule other appointment? Can you please help me with above questions? Thank you
